As a female in her early/mid 20's that works retail, I can relate to a few of these stories. I've had people corner me in aisles, say disgusting things to me in the same tone as if they're asking where the milk is, been followed into the bathroom and grabbed, even had one guy try and get into my car. If you're paid to be nice to everyone, there's people that will misconstrue that for romantic interest and there's nothing you can do about it.
From a retail worker who's dealt with this shit before, always remember you have the absolute right to refuse service to someone, contrary to what number six may have you believe. And no, getting hit on isn't a scary situation.

I normally don't leave comments on these videos but the sixth story that women was absolutely unbearable: "We put ourselves in harms way in retail" and she said that line over and over again, you aren't a cop, military personal, firefighter, construction worker, or even a coal miner, if the only thing that you do that can be considered perilous is dealing with other people then most entry level jobs would count as "harms way" I had many jobs from fast food, construction, surveying, and retail; retail is by far the easiest job I ever had with the least amount of stress with the most comfortable working condition. You don't put yourself in harms way in retail you just dealt with a creeper like most attractive women do; if you find dealing with people to be too difficult then go work on an oil rig or be a janitor; if you're too attractive and keep attracting unwanted attention tell the creeper you're actually a man or better yet throw acid on your face.

I punched him in the face and ran for my very life. He soon chased after me, food items in hand, clearly trying to violate me with them. I ran into my managers office and slammed the door. Heart pounding and short of breath I explained to my manager that there was a creeper out there trying to take my But hole. But after reviewing the tapes, I was promptly fired. Guy who I punched in the face, let's not meet again.

I had a crazy old Korean lady stalk and harass me for no reason whatsoever while I was pregnant with my youngest son. she threatened to kill me, spit at me, etc. No matter how nice I was to her. she even found my town where i live 45 minutes away. she literally hated me for no reason. I still to this day have no idea. my guess is she was stealing or with someone stealing. she got herself kicked out of the store.
I've always found the idea of nametags at work to be absurd. There is no reason every stranger that walks into a store needs to know my real name. I can at least appreciate stores like Target that now let you use a fake name on your nametag, so customers still have something to call you. But the fact that so many stores force employees to display personal information like that or that employees can be written up as "being rude to customers" when they tell someone they're making them uncomfortable is ludicrous. This is coming from a buff dude. I can't imagine the crap young women have to deal with (outside of stories like these).
I second this! It doesn’t make any sense on why employees need to wear name tags maybe for your coworkers but they usually start to remember your names after maybe three weeks working there. Also, people can just ask you what your name is and if they are acting shady then just give them a fake name or decline to give it to them.

I had a crazy old Korean lady stalk and harass me for no reason whatsoever while I was pregnant with my youngest son. she threatened to kill me, spit at me, etc. No matter how nice I was to her. she even found my town where i live 45 minutes away. she literally hated me for no reason. I still to this day have no idea. my guess is she was stealing or with someone stealing. she got herself kicked out of the store.

I've always found the idea of nametags at work to be absurd. There is no reason every stranger that walks into a store needs to know my real name. I can at least appreciate stores like Target that now let you use a fake name on your nametag, so customers still have something to call you. But the fact that so many stores force employees to display personal information like that or that employees can be written up as "being rude to customers" when they tell someone they're making them uncomfortable is ludicrous. This is coming from a buff dude. I can't imagine the crap young women have to deal with (outside of stories like these).
I second this! It doesn’t make any sense on why employees need to wear name tags maybe for your coworkers but they usually start to remember your names after maybe three weeks working there. Also, people can just ask you what your name is and if they are acting shady then just give them a fake name or decline to give it to them.
