Hello @TheXclusiveAce . I'm a streak destroyer since the very first iteration of UAVS in old MW. I have classes specifically designed to blowdown streaks from across the map on groundwar. this LMG is one of the worst to take down streaks. the best right now is the RPK followed by RAAl then SAKin. This LMG has too much spread over long ranges and too much damage drop-off to be ever compensated using -the 5 available attachments

I put it on my SO 14 with full auto and that takes it out in maybe 4-5 seconds Found the link: th-cam.com/video/dhVb9Xz_Zfk/w-d-xo.html
I will say that if you were looking for an aggressive lmg this one is great if you put every mobility mod on it, the recoil doesn't really change much for some reason.
I have a feeling that these class setups would be different if you take tuning into account. Right now if you get the tuning sweet spots right, it's basically a straight upgrade to your gun. This is what I think is optimal in MW2 for many guns: the underbarrel slot should probably always be occupied by the Sharkfin grip tuned for ADS and aim walking speed, the rear grip should always be there and tuned for ADS/sprintout time, as well as a stock tuned for ADS and aim walking speed. Then one should always use a laser for obvious reasons, and the last attachment can be an optic, muzzle, barrel, magazine or the armor piercing ammo.
Its a great gun, its amazing how many gunfights I've won with this where I thought I would be toast. If the same happened with an assault rifle or smg I reckon I would of lost.
Ace, could you do a video on some specific tuning numbers (especially ads)? For example, you showed the short barrel only gets you -20ms for your ads, but what if it's tuned all the way for ads? Stoked it's the lmg's turn for vids, keep up the great work 👍
This is purely a guess but based on the video he did on tuning after they patched tuning to "make it have more of a positive impact" if it's -20 ms without tuning, with tuning maybe -25 ms, -30 at most. Again, purely a guess.
@@jedirayden yeah that's why I want him to get the numbers, because if it's 30ms the attachment is actually quite worth it. I'll just have to go by feel for now
My problem with the Icarus is that it's the worst LMG at doing LMG things and also the worst AR at doing AR things. It sits in the middle and ends up not really having a niche.
I'm a year late to the party but I really love this thing. It's an aggressive lmg AR hybrid with still amazing recoil control. I Like pairing it up with the 9 mm daemon.
Ace what about a video on the inconsistent smoke . I was looking though smoke not seeing the sniper at the other end of the ally on a 6v6 map on the kill cam he had no smoke .
I just use this as an AR basically. Keep the handling high, with the canted laser, it's superior to the M4 except for movement speed - which can be improved with certain setups anyway. And get 75 rounds to shoot with.
These gun guides are great keep it up! Unrelated question though, is skill-based-matchmaking still in Modern Warfare 2019? I was always pretty mediocre at the game, but lately when I play it my lobbies seem to be a wide variety of skill levels and I always go positive. Wondering if you'd ever consider checking back into that game?
With the idle sway if you very very slightly move side to side the idle sway goes away and if you have your aim assist set to default the aim assist works better. Set the aim assist to default now because with the latest update the default aimnassist works better then the black ops one.
I recommend using a laser to aid ADS and then a grip for recoil control, and an optic. The rest is up to you and your kind of play style. Personally stay away from the barrels, they both suck.
Any gun is underrated if you know how to use it. If you look at cod guns as FG characters designed to play a certain way, or from functions perspective, there aren’t as many real choices as you think. Maybe two or three, with smaller subsets within that. And that’s okay!
Smoothness pretty much affects the jumpiness. Like when he's doing the recoil tests how some bullets will jump farther than the usual trend. So added Smoothness will pull back those jumps and make it more consistent. Not really less recoil, but more predictable
Dear Ace, can you please include stock ADS speeds, recoil plots, and aiming stability’s. I understand you work tirelessly, and this would be an extra bit of work. But it’d be valuable information to have. I’ve appreciated all your content for the past 5 years, and hope to see you hit a million soon :)
Unfortunately, this isn't viable at all. I'm already putting more into this series than initially planned and adding those things you mentioned would add hours to an already very time consuming series to make. I appreciate the continued support!
I was using the icarus the other day to get the pineapple grip, and it has become one of my favorite LMGs. The stock version is insane, and with the right combination you can take down a VTOL with 1 clip.
Need to be careful and take only attachments that have no downside for things you value, and then use weapon tuning to strengthen it further. If a no attachment gun feels better than you picked wrong attachments for what you were trying to accomplish with the gun itself.
Eh not necessarily. I basically use 4-5 attachments for every gun and absolutely shred. Just have to find that perfect balance between attachment pros and cons and cater it towards the way you play.
It is basicly the multiplayer lmg. It sits in between ars and lmgs. As a warzone player I dislike it, but I think that is only because mid range focused guns are just made worse by the design of brs
I have every single gun in the game max level, and yet there’s one under barrel attachment, the “Hex-40” grip is still locked? Does anyone know why that is?
If a gun doesn't have a niche in which it's good or the best it's pointless. The Iccarus problem is that it's not the best lmg in the lmg role. And we have whole other weapons classes for the other roles I use.
Please also still have the long ranges build please I don’t use your builds because I’m in Mexico and can’t play MW2 because my Xbox one s is in Illinois right now and I’m at a hotel for 2-1 days left before going back to my Grandma’s house here so please still do long range build so I can use them with a added suppressor or long range scope to it as I sound sympathetic but just want you to still do long range builds because I played mostly DMZ before I can get my present of MW2 as I leak more of my personal life for no good reason.
It felt like an adequate middle of the road gun when I was doing its challenges. It's not a gun I would ever use for any kind of optimized loadout though.

I kind of like it. It will never be my go-to choice, but I don't mind using it at all
Best LMG for killing streaks? With armor piercing?
All of em
Shockingly, this gun is insane for a hip fire build. Try it out
I've had mine built like that and frickin love it, it's so much fun to hip fire beam people with decent walking speed.
for some strange reason this weapon looks extremely sexy with Black base camo with the "Tactique Verte" golden vynil from the battlepass
In amy game where you can cant your gun with a laser, it just feels *wrong* to use it on any gun, but using it on LMGs feels perfect.
My favorite LMG by far, I got it gold so early into my playtime
Nice, new upload, love ur vids
The recoil looks just like my golf game. Starts out ok but then slices like crazy.
I hope we will be able to unlock the incendiary ammo for the Icarus soon. IW goofed up and bugged the unlock requirements
Like 6 weeks ago, this thing kicked ass.
Good thing this gun has pretty low recoil cause you can kit it out for mobility/speed and it makes for a pretty good for running and gunning
The 556 Icarus is my first golden lmg :)
Just so happens to be my next gun up in the camo grind. Do you do any tuning for your these setups?
Ace what about a video on the inconsistent smoke . I was looking though smoke not seeing the sniper at the other end of the ally on a 6v6 map on the kill cam he had no smoke .
This gun is a wrecking ball. I love it!
Just so you know I am for sure the Raal LMG has an open bolt delay.
0:56
But the COD wiki says 789 RPM, which one is correct?
Does the canted sight with that laser count as hip fire kills?
I just use this as an AR basically. Keep the handling high, with the canted laser, it's superior to the M4 except for movement speed - which can be improved with certain setups anyway. And get 75 rounds to shoot with.
Can't wait for the Raal
These gun guides are great keep it up! Unrelated question though, is skill-based-matchmaking still in Modern Warfare 2019? I was always pretty mediocre at the game, but lately when I play it my lobbies seem to be a wide variety of skill levels and I always go positive. Wondering if you'd ever consider checking back into that game?
With the idle sway if you very very slightly move side to side the idle sway goes away and if you have your aim assist set to default the aim assist works better. Set the aim assist to default now because with the latest update the default aimnassist works better then the black ops one.
Love using lmgs in this game because it let's me play as Heavy Team Fortress 2
How is it the fastest base movement and aim walking speeds, but the average movement speed for LMGs is lower for both?
As far as bullet hoses go, it's decent at the very least!
Where my dmz ppl at this good like rpk for it?
I recommend using a laser to aid ADS and then a grip for recoil control, and an optic. The rest is up to you and your kind of play style. Personally stay away from the barrels, they both suck.
Could you please look into complaints about client side smoke?
Love your Videos always detailed!!!!!!!
Love this gun. I call it my lawnmower
Any gun is underrated if you know how to use it. If you look at cod guns as FG characters designed to play a certain way, or from functions perspective, there aren’t as many real choices as you think. Maybe two or three, with smaller subsets within that. And that’s okay!
What's does recoil smoothness mean? Does it effects vertical or horizontal or nothing at all?
Smoothness pretty much affects the jumpiness. Like when he's doing the recoil tests how some bullets will jump farther than the usual trend. So added Smoothness will pull back those jumps and make it more consistent. Not really less recoil, but more predictable
It's the ratio of High-Frequency Recoil to Low-Frequency Recoil. Tightening the ratio so that the degree of recoil is more linear rather than dynamic.
My question is, is this better than just using the 60rnd mag on the M4
Dear Ace, can you please include stock ADS speeds, recoil plots, and aiming stability’s. I understand you work tirelessly, and this would be an extra bit of work. But it’d be valuable information to have. I’ve appreciated all your content for the past 5 years, and hope to see you hit a million soon :)
Unfortunately, this isn't viable at all. I'm already putting more into this series than initially planned and adding those things you mentioned would add hours to an already very time consuming series to make. I appreciate the continued support!
hated getting this gun platinum
You should do a series of warzone 2 gun guilds.
He doesn’t play war zone because it’s trash
@@neonwhitea.1548 *plays call of duty multiplayer*
Fucking lol
I was using the icarus the other day to get the pineapple grip, and it has become one of my favorite LMGs. The stock version is insane, and with the right combination you can take down a VTOL with 1 clip.
The complaint that i have is that it can't have a 200 round mag, it's a 55.6 after all
I still find that weapons with no attachments are best. Maybe an optic on some guns, but the attachments just hurt the guns too much
Need to be careful and take only attachments that have no downside for things you value, and then use weapon tuning to strengthen it further.
If a no attachment gun feels better than you picked wrong attachments for what you were trying to accomplish with the gun itself.
use the sharkfin foregrip and some of the lasers. They only have pros and no cons, so if your not using any attachments, you might as well use those.
@@rileybazan9747 cheers pal, I’ll try it out
@@mwhighlander thanks mate, ill do that
Eh not necessarily.
5:56 drop the foregrip keep the stock 👍
Someone on chat called me a Prickarus. I'm not even mad
“IMAGINE A m4 that did a line of coke”
This gun absolutely slaps for mid to long range engagements. My clear favourite.
It's like the M249. 6 round burst for accuracy
I have every single gun in the game max level, and yet there’s one under barrel attachment, the “Hex-40” grip is still locked? Does anyone know why that is?
honestly I think using a laser is a waste anytime now since enemies can always see them
*MY BOY*
If a gun doesn't have a niche in which it's good or the best it's pointless. The Iccarus problem is that it's not the best lmg in the lmg role. And we have whole other weapons classes for the other roles I use.
Hoenstly no lmg should aim in slower than 400ms
Best gun for dmz
No tuning on the attachments
No, lots of people talk about how versatile it is
Yes
Please also still have the long ranges build please I don’t use your builds because I’m in Mexico and can’t play MW2 because my Xbox one s is in Illinois right now and I’m at a hotel for 2-1 days left before going back to my Grandma’s house here so please still do long range build so I can use them with a added suppressor or long range scope to it as I sound sympathetic but just want you to still do long range builds because I played mostly DMZ before I can get my present of MW2 as I leak more of my personal life for no good reason.
If anyone can answer this, does the Canted Laser count towards Hip Fire kills?
No. You're still aiming down sights.
No it doesn't. Tried it for the Lockwood mk2
No but underbarrel shotgun does if you're on ARs
@@crocsarethepurestformofwea3122 Thanks.
@@Aaron-dc3sn Appreciate it.
When it comes to LMGs, it's the RPK or it's not.
There are no LMGs with a 448ms ADS speed, yet you still put that as the average. The Mode averages for all the stats would be much nicer IMO.
This is one of the LMGs that needs a headshot buff so it can 2 shot to the head
This game is funny. Want extra range well we fuck ads by a large margin but if you tune your guns you can fix up the ADS speed
It felt like an adequate middle of the road gun when I was doing its challenges. It's not a gun I would ever use for any kind of optimized loadout though.
I got that impression too. This gun just isn't weird enough for me.
Saving the rpk for the end huh?
I felt like this gun was a poo LMG and it felt like I was using a slow M4.
Where rpk
I hate fake gun name, he keeps referring to the HCR in the video and at first I had no idea what he was talking about because the HCR isn’t a gun and he’s actually referring to the AUG Hbar, this nonsense could all be avoided if cod wasn’t dumb
Activision is lame
👌
