    Brilliant dialogues. Great historical perspective. That and the pleasure of subtle British humour. Thank you so much.

    Thank you CR for another fine BBC offering!
    Synopsis: Harvey Grinton is the Security Officer at a Kensington High Street store when an "elderly" widow is brought into his office. She has walked out of the store with several items without paying for them. When he asks her if she has ever stolen before, she recalls an incident from 1939 during WWII....

      Thanks for your synopsis....much appreciated. I don't know if you are a long-time fan of BBC dramas but an old poster here is back...Arch Stanton....he's been cut off so many times I can't count but he ALWAYS has good stuff. Anyway..thought you might not know of him or know he's back... Arch Phoenix Stanton do a TH-cam for him and see his latest reincarnation

      I didn't know. Thanks for telling me! Yes, I have listened to his for years. That guy never gives up. I suggested he go by Lazarus for his next incarnation.😃 I also like to listen to mystery audio books. Right now listening to Brett Simon's "Fethering" series. There's no dearth of good stuff on TH-cam. TV? What TV?!

      @@rosamariamendoza1466 You're so right. I love the Fethering series! I have been burning my way through those books. Can't listen fast enough. I like both Carole and Jude. They are so different that they complement eachother. I want to be like Jude, but I see myself more in Carole....especially the overthinking parts. 🤣 What about you?

    Brilliant. Yes it did end abruptly but there is a reason. I can’t say why or it would spoil it but suffice to say whilst one is working it out , it cuts of and somehow you realise what you suddenly surmised was true.

    Reflected all the bad aspects of English colonialism, not to mention the sexism.

    • @elizabethdarley8646
      @elizabethdarley8646 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Wrong. I have friends who live there and they love us Brits because we helped defend them from slavery. The British Royal Navy attacked the slve ships of other countries.

    • @elizabethdarley8646
      @elizabethdarley8646 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Also, people in the countries that used to be in our British Empire say that "It was better when we were in the Empire." Ask them. Many countries have returned to the British Empire although it is renamed Commonwealth now.

    • @elizabethdarley8646
      @elizabethdarley8646 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Also, there wasn;t any sexism at all. The woman was invited to take on a position of importasnce and major value. Were's the sexism in that?

      @@elizabethdarley8646 They did call the handsome Italian a 'Dago', that's a disrespectful term somewhat typical of attitudes at the time

      Not colonialism again, nothing like jumping on the woke band waggon. Totally misunderstood the concept.☹️
