I had a few moments of holding my breath and nervousness, but between the Ifixit kit, and this video, my watch is back to life again! Thank you so much!
The triwing screwdriver provided w/ my battery kit stripped when attempting to loosen the battery screw. Also, I don't think you need to remove the screen cables on the gen3 watch. I'm ordering a 0.6 mm Tri Wing Screwdriver for $3 bucks on ebay, I'll get back to you if it works or not. Update: The "Y 0.6 mm Tri Wing Screwdriver" perfectly fit the battery screw. Watch is now charging the new battery! Hardest part was aligning the 3M adhesive on the watch frame, once the paper backing was peeled off. In this video they forget to peel off the old adhesive and just put glue over the old one lol, I recommend peeling off the old one and getting the 3M adhesive, which is probably what apple used originally.
I thought exactly the same thing. There was no need to remove the LCD and digitiser. That he or she did it twice is entirely nonsensical! It's just adding unnecessary steps and complexity. Same with using the tape - he or she should know that replacement batteries come with their own adhesive built in on the underside of the replacement battery... It's almost as if the person wants to show off that they're adept at removing and then reattaching the 3 connections. Crap video to be honest!
I want to know if my apple watch has a defective battery because ive only owned it for 4 months and the battery health is at 95%. My friend bought the same exact watch 3 months before i did and his battery is at 99% health so is mine defective?
Screen stopped working after trying this modification. Watch vibrates when trying to turn off. Might have pinched the ribbon cable the wrong way when re-installing. Thoughts?
Ribbon cable missalignment mostlikly. And, this job is not for everyone ;). I can't recommend it to anyone with not taking a risk into account. Only when you do these things for some time, you know your way around.
The tweezers sent my screw flying and cant find it, heads up to anyone who is doing this the screw will disappear. Im working in a empty room and I saw it land and bounce but its gone forever. I am going to see if I can find a replacement screw but so far no luck online.

hey bud, do you know what is the size of the screw that apple watch 3 use?
Solid, straight to the point, informative 👍 good content man. Keep up the grind.
Once you have replaced the battery, the battery health in the settings’ll be restored to 100% or not?
Why did you disconnect those 3 connections. The battery would have come out without doing that right?

Thanks guys this helps me a lot..❤
I cannot get the cover off, despite heating it with a hair dryer and using ultra-thin tool. Advice?
It has to soak the heat a bit. You have to get it hotter than you think.
My watch saying low battery please continue to charge how to fix this ?
Random q - when I power it back on after replacing the battery - would the existing data still be there (ie any not-yet synced data)?

don't remove the ribbon cable, only the battery cable needs to be removed during battery swap
