  • In study after study, climate change appears as one of top issues making people most anxious about the future and least optimistic the problem can be solved. In fact, it seems much of the alarm-first journalistic coverage has led to disengagement, as people retreat into disengagement and disbelief. But that's starting to change.
Adopting a solutions journalism framework, more newsrooms are asking, "Who's addressing these issues? And what can we learn from those attempts?" From flooding to heat to pollution, initiatives around the world - led by both community and government - are making slivers of progress, and everyone deserves to know about them.
By covering how these responses to climate change work, evidence of impact, replicable insights other communities can learn from, and limitations to the approach, newsrooms are cutting through greenwashing. They're dodging easy answers and pie-in-the-sky plans to explore what's happening on the ground. Most importantly, they're helping their communities escape hopelessness and discover options.
And as SJN's 2023 Climate Beacons, nine newsrooms are leading the way. Here's how.

O mais interessante sobre o uso do jornalismo de soluções para apresentar resultados com base em dados verificáveis, é que a análise de resultados de políticas conservadoras vai atropelar toda narrativa climática woke.
