    We were looking at Baros for Our March vacation. Then we realized how close the Male it is, you can actually see it in distance , no thank You!!! We decided for Anantara Kihavah Huravalhi in Baa Atoll

      I thought I had replied, but maybe not...my wife wasn't wanting to try the sea plane, so boat transfer this time. She's agreed to take the sea plane next time... :)

    Thank you for sharing I am going to Baros July this year, is the mini bar included for your stay? and can have some ideas abt the tips ? Thank you for your reply :D

      It depends on your booking. When we visited you could get an all inclusive stay that included all food and drinks. As for the tips, gosh, I don't really remember (it was back in 2017) what we ended up tipping...I think we figured $20 a day for the room attendants and maybe $200 for the host? Sorry I can't give better guidance. Regardless, I think you'll have a great trip. Baros is still one of the best places I've ever been!

    Would it be ok to swim around the sharks?
    Is November a good time to visit?
    Did you take a PCR test in advance or can you take one upon arrival?

      This was pre-covid so no testing...I did hear that you can swim around the sharks, but I was also told that the sharks might be fearful of humans...I was also told there are some turtles around that like to swim around the guests...

      You are safe to swim around the sharks! The black tip sharks are more afraid of humans.

    What month did you travel? And are you allowed to snorkel where the beach villa are situated? I read somewhere that they have calmer water than overwater villa

      We were there the last week of April into May. I don't recall any snorkeling restrictions. We walked into the water for snorkeling from the beach, and I gave the ladder from the overwater villa a try, but the waves made that problematic - a big storm went through the area the day before our arrival and stirred up to ocean, some big waves outside the breakwaters; the villas at Baros are outside the breakwaters. I would say what you read is probably accurate.

      @@TrizityTraveling thank you for sharing your experience. I've got Baros in my shortlist, if i am not worried about additional cost if I don't get All inclusive, i'll pick Baros in a heartbeat. It got this sophisticated, tranquil & luxurious feel from reading the review and watching the videos. Baros is on the expensive end compared to other resorts.

      Best wishes on your choice! My wife wasn't a big flyer, so the boat from Male to Baros rather than a seaplane flight to a more remote island was one of the main deciders for Baros.

    Being so close to the city was its noisy there? Could you see the stars clearly at night?
    How was the price of food and massages there?
    Did the resort have a shop to buy snacks and so on?

    • @TrizityTraveling
      @TrizityTraveling  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I could not hear the city, only the ocean at night. I was just learning how to take long exposure night shots and the full moon was more impactful on the stars than the city lights. I remember lots of stars.
      All the services were expensive but expected. We spent and additional $2K+ on food and services during our stay. We only had breakfast included in our rate. I seem to remember a price list on their website.
      There is a shop, but I don't recall it having snacks, just souvenirs and sunscreen. No additional charge for room service when we were there, the passion fruit sorbet was so yummy...hope that helps. I would love to go back.

    The sea is too ruff there how could anyone swim?

    • @TrizityTraveling
      @TrizityTraveling  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I large storm had passed and sea conditions were bad. I'm told the water is very flat at certain times of year. The lagoon area has breakwaters to allow for swimming. The overwater villas are outside the breakwater.
