Great course. This software is a game changer, I used it for an eLearning course at the big sandwich shop company I work with and people flipped out on how cool it looks, I am planning on making a fleet of workers, guests and others to use in future eLearning courses and it should make things much easier + open a lot of directions design-wise.This lesson taught me a lot, I am looking forward to running through all of the upcoming courses and sharpen the skills across the board in C4D, so thanks!
For your eyelash problem, in the transparency tab, bring the White Point down to 0 and the Black Point up ~.8 to 1... give or take. I find that .9 looks fairly realistic.
Dude..... Off of your recommendation, I decided to get back into cinema 4D (it was my favorite hobby as a teen). So I TH-cam tutorials, see this one and thought it was a fun spot to start, and your face shows up.... Had no idea you had a second account
Just found your channel, this is brilliant. Very easy to navigate and you have a great personality and voice for tutorials. Looking forward to more content like this, thanks again!
To fix the transparency maps you need to select each material, Then click "Transparency" instead off "Basic". Then scroll down under the Transparency tab and you will see "Mix Mode" Set each one to "Mulitply" because it is set to "normal" by default. This will also give you eyelashes.
Hi, not sure if you're still monitoring this feed but I'm having some real trouble learning to use this workflow! 1. The character moves back to its original pose and position each time I re-open the file 2. Hitting undo has the same effect as #1 3. Character is visible when using c4d physical renderer, but only in render active region window, and not in picture viewer 4. Characters are not visible in reflections Hopefully you have some experience on the problem, because I can't seem to find really any online resources on these problems. Thanks for the tutorials!
For eyelashes, the opacity map needs to be modified by adding black to everything outside of the black rectangle of the eyelash region. Then import the new opacity map into the Alpha channel of a new material that also uses the color that you want the lashes to be in the color channel. Apply this new material to the eyelashes (which are separate from the body). Done!
I use Adobe Dimension to work these kind of poses and high resolution renders. It's dope for Adobe Fuse. Nice video I will check out Cinema 4D for sure!
Great tutorial! This may be a stupid question, I'm new to fuse, but are there any plugins or something for younger looking characters? Because I'm doing an animation with a kid, but noticed that fuse doesn't have a model like that. Thanks!
Great tutorial man Fuse is a new door to character animation but one thing keep gong in my head is how can you blend between animation that you got from Mixamo to a one character.
Matthew...great video and hugely helpful, thank you! Would you mind doing a video on dealing with Fuse character motion? I exported the walking character fbx, but it does one animation cycle and then stops so I need to figure out where in C4D to repeat the motion. Thank you!
Hey! hello i have seen your tutorial jus now but i am feeling like asking you a doubt of mine i am much interested in making a animated short film and iam not that much artistic so could you please suggest me a easiest way to make a simple 3d animation short film which jus need to look in a simple way
In C4D my characters revert the the T pose as soon as I move them. Is there a method to freeze/lock the pose? I haven't done character animation before, just want them in a still scene for scale.
Hey man, thanks for the great tuts, quetion for you please. Mixamo has a few short aniimations for free that can be used in c4d, but they are pretty short, do you have any experience using those and do you know how to lengthen them please?
I’m a little stuck, I have watched all the videos about importing your characters from Mixamo but every time I do it the eyes of my character eyes turn white after I import it and I can’t seem to change that and its keeps saying my hips are not facing Z but there are Thank you Chris
When I save the character and then merge it into a new document I get an ivory black figure. The materials are all screwed up. Anyone else having this problem?
+Cine Design Training thanks for the tutorial, just one question, when I pose the model and render it in the perspective window all is fine and the pose itself it's ok, but when I do that into the picture viewer it always renders the T-Pose, completely ignoring whatever pose I did, what am I doing wrong or forgetting to set?
hello, thanks for the tutorial. Please help !!!!! 1) I Tracked footage in AE, 2) I exported Cam and track null to C4D, 3) I have created animated figure in Fuse/Mixamo, 4) I have imported this animated figure to C4D. When I try to parent animated figure to tracked null its all falling a part. Thank you.
HELLO THERE ! ABOUT EYELASHES, THERE'S ONE THING TO DO : THERE'S A MATERIAL CALLED Xxx_BodyOpacity.png IN THE Xxx.fbm FOLDER, JUST OPEN IT IN PHOTOSHOP (FOR EXAMPLE). YOU JUST HAVE TO INVERT BLACK AND WHITE. SO, ONCE OPENED JUST DO COMMAND OR CONTROL I (i) SAVE, RELOAD IN CINEMA4D TAG TRANSPARENCY AND YOU'RE DONE. OH DON'T FORGET TO CHANGE THE COLOR OF TRANSPARENCY TO WHITE INSTEAD OF BLACK :)
Everytime i select a part like the "body", the selected part jumps out from the rest from the model. Also, for whatever reason the hair simulation doesnt show up for me, eventhough the fur simulation does on the same character. Seems like these two issues might be related?
I have one serious question, you know how there is all the adobe programs such as After Effects, Photoshop and all the other ones. Do you have to learn all of them to work in some industry?
More or less. Starting out as a designer, I thought all i needed was illustrator and PS but lo and behold, C4D, After Effects, 3DS, Indesign, Fuse... The list goes on... But one step at a time is how to do it. . . happy learning
Yes. But not all at once and certainly not all of them but most them... Learn the ones you need as you go. If you're starting out as a designer, PS and AI are the go to software. Then you'll reach a point where you need 3D graphics... Cinema4D has a polite learning curve. For motion graphics, C4d plus AE. You'll need vector graphics for all these programs so Your AI skills need to be sharp still... It's an ecosystem. Slowly does it.
What kind of work are you looking for? If it's design related, the absolute 100% must learn is DESIGN. Spend your time learning how to design good, and the rest can be figured out along the way. Can't stress that enough. A "designer" who knows a ton of software, but sucks at design is a bad designer who won't get work. A great designer with even minimal software knowledge is going to have no problem finding work. That said, even when you eventually are using a bunch of software (I use Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, C4D mostly) you don't need to know everything about them. It really comes down to what you want to do, but to not get overwhelmed, I'd say just start with Illustrator, and work on your design chops.
Dude. You needed a fill source to get rid of those grim shadows - the model had no form. Not sure what you were trying to achieve. All you did was pop in an area light. The pose was robotic too. What am I doing here?
AFTER YOU OPEN THE FILE FROM THE COMPUTER DOWNLOAD IT ONLY SHOW THE BLACK WHITE MATERIAL WITHOUT DISPLAY COLOR (SPECIFIC IS TEXTUSE). OPENING THE BODY IS THE CHARACTER FROM MIXANO. HOW TO TRANSFER TO COLOR DISPLAY (TEXTURE). THANK YOU
It is possible to fix the alpha of the body/skin texture using Photoshop. First, open both the body/skin texture and the opacity/alpha map in Photoshop (you will have 2 tabs). Select all in the opacity/alpha map and copy it. Go to the body/skin texture file, open the Layers window, and paste in the opacity/alpha map. Save this as a Targa (TGA) file with alpha channel enabled. Then, use this new texture instead of the body/skin in Cinema 4D and use the texture in both Color and Alpha.
Pretty useless program. Upload and won't let you do anything else. Pressing "finish" does nothing. Tried it ten times... Finally exported with reducing skeleton count but looked all mutated in c4d. No go. Wasted an entire day trying to make this work for basic story board use.
So, listening to you, you know everything, etc etc, and you're giving tutorial, but eyelashes, you simply just delete because you don't know how to deal with !!! ahahahaha !!!!!

YOURE A GENIUS thanks man!
Don't give up mate, that was my first day to use soft soft and i will work on it for a long ti!

Still the Best Tutorial for Fuse Characters in C4D!

12:45 - You can select them all and just check off transparency once. Thanks for the video!
mixamo and fuse are godsends. thanks for the rundown!

Very cool! You probably know that C4D now has a Character object with an auto-rigging tool, that would it much nicer to animate fuse characters.
Great tutorial! This may be a stupid question, I'm new to fuse, but are there any plugins or something for younger looking characters? Because I'm doing an animation with a kid, but noticed that fuse doesn't have a model like that. Thanks!
Nice tutorial Michael,
Yes it was there before. DAZ studio, which was acquired by Adobe recently.
really really dope
Very nice!
Great tutorial man
Fuse is a new door to character animation but one thing keep gong in my head is how can you blend between animation that you got from Mixamo to a one character.
+Refaat Ajmi pleas you know how to download fuse cc? please
ITS REALLY WORKED LOL THANK YOU DUDE

I've got a problem when I upload it on MIxamo, the eyes come up all white because of a light too strong infront of the model, any clues?
In C4D my characters revert the the T pose as soon as I move them. Is there a method to freeze/lock the pose?
I haven't done character animation before, just want them in a still scene for scale.
I have the same problem :( have you figured it out yet? its so frustrating it always resets its pose...
@@Acidman030 Me too
Could you figure it out yet??
emanuel marchisio yeah.. i switched to Blender haha
Hey man, thanks for the great tuts, quetion for you please. Mixamo has a few short aniimations for free that can be used in c4d, but they are pretty short, do you have any experience using those and do you know how to lengthen them please?
Is it necessary to buy the CC or is it possible to use the mixamo feature with an registered Adobe account without buying any program? :)
I know this vid is old, but it's good! Got a new subscriber!
Would you be able to show your keyboard shortcuts in the corner of the video when you use them? Maybe there is a software that can record this?
Dude your videos are fun!!
هل تتكلم باللغة العربية
Thanks dude.
I’m a little stuck, I have watched all the videos about importing your characters from Mixamo but every time I do it the eyes of my character eyes turn white after I import it and I can’t seem to change that and its keeps saying my hips are not facing Z but there are

follow this through my model has 'alien' like skin very shiny and metallic so Mixamo just ignores it and I can't rig. What would you suggest
When I save the character and then merge it into a new document I get an ivory black figure. The materials are all screwed up. Anyone else having this problem?
cool stuff man enjoying these videos, keep em up aha
Omg this is so cool i love stuff to do like that. How long is it gone be free to download? Caus i will get my new i mac in a half year!
What about OCtane realistic render of your character? Looking on your feed but only find redshift tutorial
Thanks I wanna get into electronic soft.
nice tuto! thanks
Dude you are awesome!!..
thank you , awesome video
+Cine Design Training thanks for the tutorial, just one question, when I pose the model and render it in the perspective window all is fine and the pose itself it's ok, but when I do that into the picture viewer it always renders the T-Pose, completely ignoring whatever pose I did, what am I doing wrong or forgetting to set?
I have that problem too! are you using student version?
how did you do that ?
hello, thanks for the tutorial. Please help !!!!! 1) I Tracked footage in AE, 2) I exported Cam and track null to C4D, 3) I have created animated figure in Fuse/Mixamo, 4) I have imported this animated figure to C4D. What do i do as far as clothes
Does Cinema 4D have character models in it already? I plan on getting the program next year and I'm just trying to find out more information about it
iMysicPerfection they come with some but they are not that easy to use or customise.
Slickshooter Entertainment oh :( thank you anyways
iMysicPerfection No problem.

And i love your videos
Need some help with ego me thinks
It's free on steam. then just import to Mixamo website
Or go on creative cloud and download it
hey can i make a customize character
If anyone's still wondering how to fix the transparency maps: forums.adobe.com/thread/2222447
I don't get it, I don't see Nice tutorialm make a lody in tNice tutorials video?
unable to read file when I try to open fix file
I like it... keep talking!
Fuse is "free with creative cloud?" Correction: The cloud is almost $80/month.
You only need an Adobe ID not a membership.
Man, you are a rate! The cloud is more cheap than NETFLIX
Basically Dead Souls for people who want to make soft.
Adobe Fuse is FREE at Steam Apps.
And in Creative Cloud
RIP Fuse
AFTER YOU OPEN THE FILE FROM THE COMPUTER DOWNLOAD IT ONLY SHOW THE BLACK WHITE MATERIAL WITHOUT DISPLAY COLOR (SPECIFIC IS TEXTUSE). OPENING THE BODY IS THE CHARACTER FROM MIXANO. HOW TO TRANSFER TO COLOR DISPLAY (TEXTURE). THANK YOU
The one thing I need to know what to do is the eyelashes :/
+TayannaStudios watch the new Fuse videos. You use the Alpha Channel in C4D
Then, use this new texture instead of the body/skin in Cinema 4D and use the texture in both Color and Alpha.
so... "CINEMA 4D" is "CINEMA FOR DESIGN" O.o
I got mine free on steam
can you give us your Tea Brand :)
And WHAM! Well you're drunk now!

not very helpful
its not fair.. plugin costs so much :/ your a rich kid you can buy and use it what about middle class families .. :(
So, listening to you, you know everything, etc etc, and you're giving tutorial, but eyelashes, you simply just delete because you don't know how to deal with !!! ahahahaha !!!!!
