Though I only discovered this channel a couple months ago, it has been a real joy, myself being a huge game show fan. Thank you for everything, Robert.
Seems fitting, as this song ended up on my shuffle tonight when driving home from work, so I'm going to be a spam troll and post some of the lyrics here. Don't let it end Baby, we could have so much more Don't let it end Honey please don't walk out that door I'm telling you baby I made my mistakes But I'll make you this promise To do what it takes I'll be there to protect you And hold you tight You got my loving, baby, every single night Don't let it end I'm begging you....Don't let it end this way Don't let it end I'm begging you Don't let it end this WAY
It's too bad when you said this was the last regular GSG webcast that you didn't cue the To Tell The Truth 1990 theme and say, as Alex Trebek did, that you wanted to go out, as Cyrano DeBergerac said, "with your panache intact." I will be checking your earlier episodes, because they are great. Thank you.
Yeah, I knew as soon as I saw the promos for this show that it would be reprehensible in every conceivable way. The exploitative nature is what really got to me as well as a lot of other people, and it being boring as tar certainly did not help. That's really all there is to say about it, though. As far as GSG, I joined in pretty late, the first video I ever saw being your unscripted ranking of what you thought the top 5 best game shows of 2014 were, but I gotta say, it didn't take long for me to become a regular viewer of your videos, and once I did, I knew instantly that it was a great decision. Thank you for all the entertaining content you've put out over the show's run, and make no mistake, every single ounce of blood, sweat, tears, hard work, and effort you poured in to your videos as well as the time you've dedicated to giving us quality content will go as appreciated as possible and a whole lot more. On top of that, we, the loyal fans that have stuck with you through thick and thin, would like to wish you all the best and remind you that we are here for you whenever you need us. I know how difficult it must've been coming to terms with the fact that you're trans, but I can assure you that you are amazing, and no one should ever see you as anything but that. I don't know if you've transitioned yet or if you're in the process of doing so or anything like that (it looks like you've transitioned to me, but I could be wrong), but if you haven't yet or are currently in the process, we all hope things turn out well for you in the end. Plus, as a bisexual male myself, not to be rude to anyone else, but I kinda feel an extra load of obligation to be there in your corner because hey, us LGBT members gotta look out for each other, amirite? Anyways, good luck, may good things always be on your side, and once again, thank you for all that you've given us. Take care, Cyndi. ;-) -Halston Wirt (@BStreetMarcy on Twitter)
Robert, I would like to ask you since I am getting help at Net Game Central. Do you want me to continue from where you are leaving off? I have seen others that needed to be inducted and hope to do so when I get a camcorder and some video editing software.
If this is indeed the end of GSG as a regular series, then thank you for inspiring me to look into the deeper depths of the game show world and for providing 6 years of hilarious ccrusades against mediocrity in the GS World. Tip my hat off to you.
Very appropriate that you put up the final regular GSG video this week, as we just wrapped up the Game Show Turdament over at Golden-Road.net and Buy a Vowel a couple of days ago. After three months of deliberation, we all determined that "The Chamber" is the worst game show of *all time*. I'm sure that you won't disagree with our opinion on that. Thanks for all of your hard work over these past 6 years. So... I guess that's it for all of us until November or December. I'll be ready for that next induction, whenever it may be.
There is always the term for shows such as Survivor or Hell's Kitchen, "game opera". As for The Briefcase, I must respectfully disagree. The show held my interest. Can't ask for much more than that from a series. I have seen more tasteless exploitation of people on television. Actually, I think both couples actually come looking good in the end when they share. As for pitting people different stereotypes against each other, please don't tell me Survivor, Amazing Race, or Hell's Kitchen don't go for extreme personalities and hope the arguments flare up.
Along the same premise of this show, there was "Oprah's Big Give" which aired briefly on ABC in 2008. In that, people travelled across the US with a large amount of money, finding unique ways in helping people. I didn't like the sound of it when it first aired, so I didn't bother having a look at it. Doing this kind of show must have been a low point for Oprah.

3 months after this review, CBS closed The Briefcase for good.

Don't let it end
Baby, we could have so much more
Don't let it end
Honey please don't walk out that door
I'm telling you baby I made my mistakes
But I'll make you this promise
To do what it takes
I'll be there to protect you
And hold you tight
You got my loving, baby, every single night
Don't let it end
I'm begging you....Don't let it end this way
Don't let it end
I'm begging you
Don't let it end this WAY
THAT SHOW !!
New outfit. I see using Flash has allowed for an easier allocation of your animation budget. Yay!
And so it ends....the last induction to GSG. Kudos to you Rob for the last six years and here's to the future.....
i wish you the best, sad its the end. I wish you the best.
It's been fun Robert. One question though: How well do you think you can host a game show? As you said before, it's no easy task.

@GameShowGumbo, why did you have to trim the video down to 8:35 instead of over 11 minutes?
Worth $101,000!!!!!

+BlackwoodCompany I will still be doing videos, only about 5/6 a year of GSG.
thank you game show garbage

I support capitalism but I do not support The Briefcase This is disgusting
The last induction, congrats and well done.
For me, I would rather jump into a shredder and kill myself than be on The Breifcase.
#500questions is a bigger stinker IMO

This is it. The final episode.
It's over, now let's go back to our dull, pathetic lives and search for meaning.
