I've tried several rain jackets and I like the Montbell Versalite because: it's super light, I don't get sweaty, it breaths, and the quality, but it is expensive. I bought the pants also and take both during day hikes in the Seattle area. They pack down and don't weigh down my pack. Good for open trails, not brushy trails.
Great review of that jacket. Was just looking at a way to lighten up for summer and shoulder seasons, but we really get rain here in western Oregon, so your story about the week on trail in rain like what's in the video is perfect. Also, that light weight means that jacket can do double duty as a wind jacket in summer, which my summer poncho/tent doesn't really do too well.
Great review!!!! Thank you for sharing!!! I was on the fence on which jacket to get for thru hiking the AT, you’ve sealed the deal!!!!! Thank you!!!!!🥾🥾⛺️
Hi. thanks for a good review. I'm thinking of buying this jacket. how is the fit and size? I am 187 cm tall. if you recalculate, it is about 6.2 ”. I think! should I buy an L or XL? keep up the good work. best regards from Sweden.
Great review $!r..! Question for ya... I’m 208Lbs and they only offer up to an XL size... I usually where an xl but for a rain jacket if the company doesn’t size up for layering I get a xxl... did you have to size up or was there enough room for a puffy or a fleece..?
I’m 230 at the moment myself and the XL has plenty of room for a puffy underneath. It’s the reason I went to an XL as well. I was like 220 when I bought it. Then my pandemic body moved into my life. Still fits with the puffy though.
So far it has performed great. And the fit and features just work, like the pockets that don’t get block by your backpack’s hip belt. I have been very impressed by all of Montbell’s products.
Love the idea of the on trail review!
subscribing cuz you literally were concerned for the turkeys. cool man.
your review was good too

Pit zips are a must. Both my OR Helium 2 and North Face Gore Tex don't have them and it feels like a hot box at times.
@@PrettyHikes Agreed! Totally worth the extra weight
I would like to see the unedited version of this video because that struggle part is funny 😄,If you have the free time.

don't forget it's a japanese manufacturer - all japanese clothes tend to run slightly smaller
Just got mine and love it. Can’t wait to see how it performs on trail.
Awesome! I hope you love it!
Any update?

@@ChristopherMarshburn thanks! Does it run true to size?
How was your pants .. also montbell? Do you think necessary?
The pants I’m wearing are the Patagonia Joggers. Not waterproof. I used a rain kilt on the Appalachian Trail and it worked well enough.

A walk in resident evil 4 😋
One question man, does it feel good on the skin..
I’ve only ever worn it with a long sleeve shirt so I’m not sure!
