On my first run I romanced Karlach. But as soon as that was done I made a Selunite Githyanki to romance her, which let me tell you it's a 11/10 experience
@@shabuya101 lorewise it's weird because I feel Selunites and Githyanki are on opposites sides of the spectrum. Where Selunites are left on their own to figure it out, Githyanki don't do much without hearing Vlaakith's orders. And with Shart is fun, because if you pick Gith dialogue options she calls you barbaric and violent with no purpose and if you pick Selunite dialogue options she says you're coddled and dangerously soft. So it's a very funny contrast. I headcanon that my gith was somehow a lost egg that ended up in a Selunite temple and liked the whole "independence" thing. And Lae'zel is the first of her kin that she meets. Her faith doesn't waver after learning at least half of her kind is devoted to Vlaakith or even after meeting her, because she is a demanding toddler and as a Selunite she doesn't like that.
@@simonjameskenway6933 Shar has no claim whatsoever over her soul since she doesn't worship Shar anymore. SH knows what's at stake and still chose to do it, as with Wyll, losing something dear to you just to avoid pain is not worth the sacrifice.
But @cosmic_drone, that’s basically what her true ending is. She has to let go to be rid of the curse. It’s the natural progression of her journey. Personally, when I heard that I hated it. I think it’s bad writing. This “release the curse or keep your parents” fake dilemma was so out of nowhere and not developed well at all. The foreshadowing itself leaves a lot to be desired. So, I like the ending where she keeps her parents and gets to explore that more. I think it would be even better if we got to see more of the Selune culture and learn that the world of her parents aren’t all sunshine and rainbows but rather an underworld of betrayals and even more drama. I think Baldur’s Gate 3 needs a supplement adventure where we explore those areas more.
@@MerlinTheCommenter I agree that the writing could've been way better (act 3 leaves a lot to be desired). But this is the way I see it: What better example of devotion than bearing Shar's curse and still choosing to do good? That's the good progression and one SH has active participation in instead of just doing what Shar wants. Shar thinks mortals are weak and cannot stand pain, and that they will sacrifice anything to be free of it. She is the Goddess of Loss, and benefits from that. That's why she frees SH of the curse if she kills her parents: Shar got what she wanted. Shar wins and SH will still feel pain, just of a different kind: the pain of knowing your parents died by your hand, regret, as she shows in the epilogue, and the emotional pain of just not having them. Double win for Shar. That's why killing them is essential for the Dark Justiciar route. Can't trust an evil-aligned Goddess whose domains are death and trickery.
I know it is shadowheart's storyline, but with Aylin I kind of wish she interacts with you more if you play as a follower of Selune just some recognition of what you have done to help her. I know she helps you out in the final battle but she does that for anyone. I'm currently a selunite in one of my playthrough's and shadowheart is hilarious she is very much eww selunite why do i like you so much. I've had dialogue where she's trying to sway me away from Selune
You just need to have selune as your deity if you want unique dialogues related to her but if you just want to romance shadowheart you don't have to be anything specific for either path
Yes but you won’t get the approval bonus from freeing her which makes it slightly harder to romance her but otherwise than that it won’t really affect her romance at all
A Drow Durge Cleric of Selune makes no narrative sense whatsoever lol also theres no way in hell, Id ever call her Shadowheart again after learning how pretty her real name is.
