Am I the only one who doesn't like the idea of "jumping unrealistically further and higher" as "parkour improvement"? Parkour is about flow, precision and control, and Unity's parkour was so good because of it, not because Arno had very ludicrous legs.
@@alejandrocastillolopez6268 Unity parkour has cool animations, I'll give it that, BUT when it comes to control it's meh. No manual side ejects, catching ledge is practically non-existent etc.
@@SirJacobFrye68bruh, I was about to agree with your comment but you’re dead wrong after I read your disrespect toward unity. This shit mirage parkour is so meh because he’s just flying higher and or magically twisting and turning unrealistically without any in between animations. Unity/Arno has very fast and realistic in between animations for the most subtle changes of direction when you’re in control. That’s what made it seem faster and realistic. This dude in mirage is magically floating and turning to where he’s going which makes it seem slower and unrealistic.
@@Nohagasdrogas I mean Arno actively defies gravity, and some of his moves have zero weight, not to mention his choppy vaulting animations. That's also why I prefer Syndicate's parkour. Yes, it has fewer flashy moves and no manual jump. Whatever bad you're going to say about Syndicate's movement (apart from it being a huge downgrade) I'd likely agree, but it's more consistent and satisfyingly weighty, which to me is a massive factor as well. As for Mirage's parkour, there are things I like and dislike about it. I certainly don't like that weird jumping animation, but I do like that it makes Basim feel pretty fast...unless he gets stuck on a random plank lmao. Also, I'm not a huge fan of Unity, so don't expect me to praise this game like it seems to be in fashion these days.
Even better if they built Alexandria more like Baghdad (with differences in architecture of course). I think the blocks of houses could've been better designed for parkour.
I mean you can't even vault over low obstacles at will in Origins. It took Cheat Engine to make it possible. Also, it's the mod that makes parkour look good, not me 😅
@@SirJacobFrye68 I barely use vaulting in AC games, the only times are use it are in Unity and sometimes the Kenway saga, but I barely use them. It wasn’t such a big problem for me
I get it, but to me jumping over things always felt a bit...you know, clunky. Most AC protagonists are pretty agile, so it only makes sense for them to be able to vault over stuff.
I can see where you're coming from, but Origins has one hell of a story, so I'm willing to overlook the length part. Also replaying it with that new improved parkour is a joy, and practically changes the whole experience.
I like it when games are longer. I'd feel bad spending money on a short game and not having anything what to do in just a week. Still, I feel there are games that are long and good and there are long games that feel like you're doing the same thing over and over again (Valhalla)
Its rare to see someone who actually understands that Unitys parkour is overrated. It looks flashy but it feels terrible to play. The kenway games arguably felt much more responsive and accurate to what you wanted to do.
Not making Unity videos is a deliberate choice. I'd rather choose the harder option and show the rest of community that other titles can be equally, if not more enjoyable.
Love it. If this was how the movement was it would have come in clutch so many times for stealth infiltrating forts without Bayek falling down where he should have leaped. Still love this game, but it's the only one of the RPG trilogy I like.
@SirJacobFrye68 I love the game. I love Unity's combat, I love its setting, I love the ways it offers you different ways to tackle missions, but honestly, Unity has some really floaty and weightless feeling parkour. I bought it a few months back on Steam after last playing it back in probably 2015 or 2016. Most of it is still great but the parkour is a whole lot of flash but doesn't feel as good as the parkour from AC1 - AC Black Flag imo
Ye, said weightlesness and floatiness are the reason why I don't like Unity's parkour. I don't like its combat, it's still too easy for me, and the game's setting has tons of wasted potential. Like come on, French Revolution should be the main meat, while in reality it's more of an afterthought.
Seriously, parkour (and movement in general) is the only thing i don't like about origins. Story is great, combat is fun and the world is beautiful! One of my favorites in the series
I have yo agree, story wise Origins must be peak AC game, or at the very least one of the best. All in all great Assassin's Creed and great game as a whole, even if parkour isn't exactly what people expected after Unity and Syndicate.
@@SirJacobFrye68 It's like in the Unity, the parkour is great only if you purposely make it harder, since you can climb almost anything, you can run in straight line and the character hold onto anything.
There are many other content creators who like to show off some flashy moves every single 5 seconds. I prefer to do that to a much smaller entend, if that's what you're talking about.

just imagine doing parkour carrying a dothraki sword , a shield & bow
That would be pretty uncomfortable. I can also see Bayek breaking his bows.
I like the mod, something just feels off about how quickly Bayek goes through the animations/moves if that makes sense?

You're welcome. Just remember it requires Cheat Engine to work properly. That and you may need to edit a few lines of code.

What's wrong with tweaking the only thing holding the game back from being even greater than it already is? And how does it make the game harder?

The game is vastly empty with little to no buildings.
