    Just picked up a dirt cheap PSE bow for the quarantine, and now we are going bow shopping (once the quarantine is lifted) for my wife. there is nothing that is more cathartic than shooting in the field behind the house.

    I love to shoot my bow. My problem is I don't feel challenged at times with it. I don't have a local shooting range, I have to drive over an hour to the closest 3D shoot and my max range where I live 42 yards. I shoot in every position,sitting, behind me, kneeling, in between limbs and I've done it so much it's routine. Any ideas on how I can up my game?

    Hey Cam. I have a question. Most people probably don't have a long range to shoot and practice at. So, what would you suggest as a practice method to increase long distance accuracy for those who can't consistently practice at 80-160 yds?

    • @RonFleener
      @RonFleener ปีที่แล้ว

      There's always somewhere you can practice. Side of a road, empty parking lot... Just use ur truck bed to hold the target so if you miss you're shooting your own stuff and not someone else. Good practicing!!

    • @Jack_The_Biker

      If you can add more pins to your sight if it allows it or if you're able to purchase an adjustable single pin sight like the Hogg father that Cam shoots or an HHA optimizer

  • @HipposintheNite

    dude If I had the 1500 dollar setup that you do, I'd be able to do that........I give you props no doubt but you have to admit your high end top of the line Hoyt extremely expensive accessories and like 4 dozed arrows that you have helps trumendously

    • @jordan19862000
      @jordan19862000 9 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      +Jake Decker If you aren't an extremely good shot now, you wouldn't be with expensive equipment. The equipment only helps to fine tune the skill that already exists. Bottom line: if you have bad form and technique, you can't buy out of it with expensive equipment. I shoot five-inch groups at 60 yards with a $400 bow.

    • @jakedecker4291
      @jakedecker4291 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do shot five inch groups at 60 yards trust me I just can't get out that far with my bow as well as afford the stuff to help me do so........plus the more expansive bows do shoot better than an inexpensive bow I've tried a Hoyt before and its way more smooth and accurate than the one I have

    • @stwida91
      @stwida91 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +Jake Decker Very sad to see this comment. I hate to make assumptions, but I'd wager you're not an experienced shooter. The shooter's skill is infinitely more important than the equipment. I started archery last year with a 2014 middle-of-the-road PSE that cost me about $500. After about 6 months of nonstop shooting, my groups at 30 yards were within one inch. After deciding I loved archery, I went ahead and bought a Nitrum 34" in 2015. For the first two weeks, I couldn't get my groups nearly that tight, even though the bow was over double the cost of my PSE. I'm finally back to shooting great groups, but the moral of the story is... you can do anything you want with whatever equipment you want. So long as you're not using bum equipment, it's all about how in-tune you are with what you choose to use. You don't just buy 'a better bow' and suddenly start shooting great groups or hitting targets at 160 yards... Happy shooting, and I hope you realize that the shooter is what matters most, not the bow... otherwise you'll find yourself dropping loads of cash on a top-of-the-line bow and wondering why you still can't split arrows ;)

    • @robertowen2021
      @robertowen2021 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's not about the bow. If you can afford it, it's nice. But I shoot a 16 year old bow that I paid 100 bucks for and I can still make every arrow touch at 50- 60 yards if I do my part.

    • @boydcrowder6130
      @boydcrowder6130 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Its sad that someone has misleaded you this way... I shoot a freaking Martin Cheetah with a 52 lb draw and a trophy ridge pin sight from wal mart... busting $5 arrows at 50 yards consistently... You have been listening to the WRONG people my friend.... Practice Practice Practice... Period!!!

      +Airsoft&Bow The defiant is not as powerfull as the '14 carbon Turbo Cam shot last year. He lost FPS because the turbo went down 10 pounds in draw weight. sure the nitrum got 10 FPS higher IBO but its still a weaker bow when he used to pull 80#
      He is going to get a sight clearings issue with that setup at about 140 or something like that. If he move the sights dovetail inn abit he can shoot longer, but wont be as precis..

    Give me an over thousand $ bow and equipment and see what I can hit like buying a expensive gun and scope then trying to hit a coyote at 600 yards get your windage down and moa and your good not saying bows aren't much harder cause they are but come on man lets see what you can do with say a traditional 50pound recurve hit a balloon at 50yards 7 out of ten times that's talent!
