There were some good 'that's actually insane' moments in his Dutch LP too... when he looked at the yields on some of his districts (late game). 'Nice musketeers, bro' and 'pillage that village' (Civ 5) are good too :)
0:15 “but some of them are stronger than others I’ll put it that way...” *flashback to Hungary recruiting a massive swordsman army and conquering all of Sweden in less than 25 turns*
One of my fave civs to just dominate sim-style. The high appeal near mountains also makes it possible to create fully breathtaking preserves with the yields reflected on the mountain tiles (max +10 food, faith, culture) Such an OP district in the ancient era.
Why head towards non-fresh water instead of settling Pamukkale? It would also help the loyalty in captured city and secure the contested land. Pamukkale has fresh water and gives adjacencies to districts. + 1 archer with garrison promotion would have benefited +10 strength if shooting from the holy site.
@@bmalcolm4231While it could have been phrased better, asking a question and having a discussion on the merit of a particular move can lead to productive conversation about the game. Snarky replies, however, are practically an intellectual dead end. It is my hope that you will consider this point before your next acrimonious utterance.
If you flip it then you can raze it when you recapture it? I wonder how the grievances work then. Also re-settling on the tile where the holy site or the one tile lake to the south east gives access to the wonder. Could also then settle another one more north of that location.
You can, and you will not get grievances if you raze a free city (even if it wasn't a free city just a moment ago). So that's not a bad way of doing it.
At 11:15 I want to point out that if you just didn't attack that turn, the AI would've attacked the spearman and not have been able to kill it, which means you could've gotten the finishing blow the next turn. You could also have done the same thing earlier with the barbarians near the city state.
I dont know if you mention it further into the video but im pretty sure Terrace farms count as farms for the purpose of Feudalism and the other farm boost i forget what its called. Mechanized something the one with the Infantry unlock
I'm loving your Civ 6 Videos. So entertaining and funny. Would it be bothering you to turn on the music again? In my opinion it's really conducive to the atmosphere of the game. Especially with new Civs, which we never heard the music of before :)
Nice Channel you got going there! That second terrace farm you build next to the lake will make a good aqueduct later giving +2 prod to 3 hills. Also, if you haven't recorded the next episode yet, you should settle the coastal city you're going for on the wheat instead of the hill I think because you can again get an aqueduct with 3 adjacent hills. Man I should have been a streamer, so privileged (although it's just free advertising ^^)
I'm surprised you didn't take Stone Circles +2 Faith from Quarries or the pantheon which gives +2 Faith from Breathtaking Appeal tiles (mountains are usually Breathtaking). The latter one synergises very well with the Inca. Btw I don't know at this point if you did this but the quarry next to the mountain and between the Geothermals is an amazing spot for a campus. That's a +8 campus I believe.
Grrrr that second city if you had harvested the stone you could build a campus with 3 thermal fissure + mountain campus and you would have gotten that “ridiculous campus adjacency” era score too
I'm not sure, but try a pangaea map and if you like lots of mountain ranges, set the age of the world to younger (older means they've turned into hills).
Razing that City feels like a waste, there is already the equivalent of one settler, one builder and a district is there as well.. Its however somewhat dangerous close to that volcano. I'd use the new settler to build a loyalty bridge and settle the natural wonder, in one wash problem solved and a good wonder secure. That Town to the NE don't run away. I've would have sent the spear man south to secure the capture of the city ^^ Especially because the bowman has 2 range, it might have been a good idea to draw him into the town north.
Maybe I’m dumb, but did he chop the rainforest and keep the bananas? I didn’t know you could do that. I always just never chopped bananas because I assumed it would remove the bananas as well as the rainforest

So, in a nut shell, early game Shaka... 🙄 Definitely send a scout south to project how many city states he could potentially be aware of. Btw, the other spot you were looking to settle, the one to the east, is exposed as shit. May be best to avoid it for now, especially if he's gets a lot of city state units.
I love how the devs were like "oh but yeah the tunnels SEEM very powerful when you can move maybe even 20 tiles in 1 move in large maps, BUT it is very dangerous because enemies can also use them AGAINST you!" Well, no they cant, if you buy the tile the tunnel is on / exiting to, nobody else can use it unless you grant them open borders. Furthermore, in warfare (or peace too), you can just plonk cheap-ass warriors around the entrance, and literally NOTHING can pass them, because they cant path through military units (zone of control, if at war). I'm playing on fucking Gargantuan maps (modded) and sometimes a mountain range will literally go from the northpole to the southpole, if that isnt OP i dont know what is xD
I dont really like Incas : they heavily depends on mountains, and tiles adjacent to mountains will compete with holy and science district... So not really convinced... Hungary, Mali or Maori are far stronger IMHO ^^
Stupid to chop jungle from a banana tiles You just made waste moves with that builder instead using him to clear that tile with jungle near lake for a terrace with +50% setler in place, so painful to watch
