I was Born in 07 so i wasn’t able to experience this era but I was able to watch a few of the shows from this era and they’re amazing. The more data points an algorithm has and if it’s pointed in the right direction ny the developers who can correct the bad behaviors. Just look at games nowadays, less time is being spent on making hardware brute force rendering in 4k and higher resolutions, and instead uses the cpu to offload the work into ai learning upscaling algorithms in real time. It basically takes a much lower resolution and fixes it up frame by frame. Meaning the gpu has a lot more room to push for more frames a second. It’s called dlss and fsr. It also introduces new problem, like dlss and fsr introduce a lot of latency between what you see on screen and what gets inputted from a controller. It takes time for the cpu to communicate back and forth to properly upscale the game. So the guy pros are your game looks sharper and more detailed, but when you pull the trigger it takes half a second for the gun onscreen to fire. It seems like a small amount of time but when it’s running at 60fps that’s half of the frames going by each second before the game registers your inputs. It feels awful, like an unstable connection to a match in an online game
