Keeping the record store day vibes alive I love it man, it was going so hot for months leading up to the last one then it lasted a few days after it happened with all the videos of peoples stuff, so it’s good to see one with someone showing releases from different record store day years. If that’s a thing people do I haven’t seen any and it should happen more often. I can’t wait to see what Black Friday releases are coming out. That Mahavishnu picture disc is precisely an example of the only kinds of picture discs I’d have
Hi Mike. I'm with you on RSD. I have bought many keepers. LA Woman definitely but some tracks of Jim's voice tax my cartridge 😊. I love many of the live releases - some SQ not the best but the spontaneous nature of live performances are the secret sauce for me. You provided some good tips if I may come across these esp the Grant Green. I passed on that at the time. Marble phrogg was underwhelming agreed. Rereleases of Larry Coryell 7th house band were a treat too. Greg
I have that Wes: In Paris (from RSD 2017) and it's my favorite Wes recording. I'm in Canada and for me the $40 USD they were charging back in 2017 seemed exorbitant. Cut to autumn 2020 during the pandemic and I bought a beautiful Near Mint copy for $96.00 CAD = $86.00 + $10.00 shipping...not too bad and no regrets every time I spin it; I just love that set. The median is currently 120.49 CSD or 88.22 USD. My local shop had a copy of that Betty Harris up until it recently sold (for $45.99 CAD) and your videos almost convinced me, but in the end I guess I'm personally not enough of a soul fan. Lastly, if I were you and because you'll never play it again anyway, and because it really is beautiful, and because it's falling apart as it is, I would frame that Where Fortune Smiles and display it on the wall. Cheers!
So far my fave older RSD release is the white vinyl 2022 reissue of Goblin's *Suspiria* soundtrack. Italian prog with lotsa creepy parts, mastered really nicely on a ghostly-lookin' disc that only cost me something like $15. 👻
Hey Mike, I’m with you on more Motown and the like, instead of a ronstat box set or Dwight why don’t they do a box set of MJ, James Brown, hell even queen

My favorite thing about RSD is the community and supporting the small record stores. The rsd selections are mostly not must haves for me.
Exactly! My local has 20% off everything except RSD titles

Looks like that picture disc art may be by Shepard Farey?
Oh really??
I'm hoping Black Friday has a fun list, hated missing out this last time

Hey Cody!! A James Brown box would be absolutely fantastic!! There is a Queen box, but i hear it sounds awful and is a waste of money
