For some reason I often forget to use gesso as a first layer in my art journal. 🤦♀️ When I do remember, it makes a big difference. I rarely use flat brushes to paint anything beyond the initial background layers, so it was interesting to watch you do so much detail with them. I almost always use filberts when I’m painting with acrylics, but I may need to give my flat brushes another try!
Gesso really is amazing, but you are right, it's sometimes hard to remember to use it! I'm glad that you enjoyed the tutorial, I use my flat brushes around 90% of the time on my projects. It took me a while to realize how versatile the shape was and how I could use it in my paintings. I hope that you give them another try!
