Bear in mind, Emporer Qianlong lived and died within the peaceful success of his Forbidden city. The atrocity that was done to his bodily remains, in no way harmed his spirit. A very dishonerable and disrespectful thing to do, but inconsequential to Qianlong himself.
He was one of the greatest emperors. But, towards the end of his reign, Qing started to decline because of him turning a blind eye on corruption and mismanagement by some of his ministers. Most notably He Shen
He trusted HeShan, HeShan was also from his mother’s clan not to mention Qianlong was old and probably had started to feel discouraged especially that he’d lost so many close people that was dear to his heart.
Hongli was never going to use that body again anyways , it’s a shell, bones only 🙄Not sure how Puyi could’ve taken revenge when he , himself was a prisoner more or less at this time, He Had no power at this time.
@@therarestphoenix5254 The tour I saw said he was in a coffin by himself with his dear Fuca and Lingy next to him, he wasn’t just shoved with no concubine his tomb contains his beloved Empresses and favourite Consorts to begin with.
He died 9 years after ruyi died . He was so cruel to her and so she cut her hair. I don't blame her at all. I would have to. After ruyi died. He had all evidence to her erase . He died in his own home not another place.
It was not just him but that is how all men were back then. In fact, many men these days are like that too. However, I have to say it is not just men but women given power are not sweet either as we can see with CiXi, Empress Lu, Wu Zetian, etc…
You are clearly basing his personal life on Tv dramas that didn’t give the true version of his intimate relationships. He was one of the few emperors that actually treated his concubines/consorts well. He wasn’t this heartless womaniser as they made him out to be in shows like RRLITP.😂

It is very sad when cultural heritage is lost, especially through greed
Another great video sir! 👍
This is heartbreaking to hear, however not uncommon in history. Puyi himself sold items from the forbidden city for money
I wonder if Sun Dianying and all those who desecrated and looted the chamber suffered misfortune later on?
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_Dianying
unfortunately, no

Were the bodies re interred?
They weren't able to distinguish who's remains were who's, so they put Emperor Qianlong's remains and his concubines in one tomb and reinterred. 😔
Lol

圣诞快乐 Qianlong was one of the great Chinese emperors but lost his way towards the end of his long life.
He sounds like an excellent ruler, but I'm not sure how I feel about his personal life. I look at it from a 20th century, feminist viewpoint.

Your personal view and taste is inconsequential to the social norms of those times. Females were and are not angels either.
