    2pac - Still I Rise (Original)
    amzn.to/2FOn8eT
Somebody wake me I'm dreamin, I started as a seed the semen
Swimmin upstream, planted in the womb while screamin
on the top, was my pops, my momma screamin stop
From a single drop, this is what they got
Not to disrespect my peoples but my poppa was a loser
Only plan he had for momma was to fuck her and abuse her
Even as a little seed, I could see his plan for me
Stranded on welfare, another broken family
Now what was I to be, a product of this heated passion
Momma got pregnant, and poppa got a piece of ass
Look how it began, nobody gave a fuck about me
Pistol in my hand, this cruel world can do without me
How can I survive? Got me askin white Jesus
will a nigga live or die, cause the Lord can't see us
in the deep dark clouds of the projects, ain't no sunshine
No sunny days and we only playED sometimes
    When everybody's sleepin
I open my window jump to the streets and get to creepin
I can live or die, hope I get some money 'fore I'm gone
I'm only 19, I'm tryin to hustle on my own
on the spot where everybody and they pops tryin to slang rocks
I'd rather go to college, but this is where the game stops
Don't get it wrong cause it's always on, from dusk to dawn
You can buy rocks glocks or a HEROINBONG
You can ask my man Ishmael Reed
Keep my nine heateR all the time this is how we grind
Meet up at the cemetary then get smoked out, pass the weed nigga
That Hennessey'll keep me keyed nigga
Everywhere I go niggaz holla at me, "Keep it real G"
And my reply tilL they kill me
Act up if you feel me, I was born not to make it but I did
The tribulations of a ghetto kid, still I rise.

If he would have lived past 25 he would have been a very powerful man probably could have been the president if he put his mind to it. He was that political. He just had so many haters in his life. Yeah this song has a lot of meaning to me. I miss the days where I anticipated the next 2pac album. My big brother introduced me to him around 96 when All Eyez On me came out. Then he got his older albums too, so I got to here those and appreciate them. The Makaveli album is cold, but is haunting to listen to at times especially because of his murder right before it was released.

What's crazy about 2Pac is he did so many classic verses and songs in such a short amount of time, that he never really got to listen to them. We listen dozens, hundreds, thousands of times. He just dropped the song and moved to the next one. Absolutely amazing. Just creating songs non stop never to listen to them.

I used to listen to this verse and it brought tears to my eyes every time because I heard my life from another mans mouth. My freshman year in college and I could play was this song. The only person in my entire family who went to college plus on a football scholarship. I went from homeless on the street to making a difference in not only my life but the lives of everyone who was there with me. Words mean everything to those who need to hear them. God created music and I applaud this man for his words that encouraged me to realize that no matter what you go through someone else goes through it too. Your life and legacy has done what only great men have done, Gave hope to the only world we know. Rest my brother your race is in the record books. And for that you will live Forever ❤️💯💯💯

It is NOT easy to be successful from that ESPECIALLY with poverty added. young black males have a much larger population than the average male to have to overcome that struggle, not to mention RACISM TOO!

The saddest bars in Pacs verse was when he said, “ Rather go to college, but this is where the game stops. “ Just knowing how brilliant he was makes my heart break to witness how as black ppl we feel like we have to look for the holes in this world because if we take the right path and become successful we are targeted and considered a threat to supremacy.

+g devine Johnny J died on October 3, the day after my bday but like I said everybody that was rapping is deceased, but u right Johnny J did past also, so I gotta give him a shout out, RIP Johnny J, but like I told the other dude he was on the hook not rapping. I was more so talking about everybody that was rapping on the song not singing or on the hook, but it still all love

Been bumping pac since 4th grade but this song gives me nostalgia every time. I get the feeling of being right out of high school driving my Supra smoking weed and drinking putting all the homies on this tape
