tupacs verse is like a movie. he takes u through the character's literal birth to his upbringing. you see it all vividly. this is pure poetry. and u feel every word in ur soul. this is why this man is the goat. not up for debate.
I used to listen to this verse and it brought tears to my eyes every time because I heard my life from another mans mouth. My freshman year in college and I could play was this song. The only person in my entire family who went to college plus on a football scholarship. I went from homeless on the street to making a difference in not only my life but the lives of everyone who was there with me. Words mean everything to those who need to hear them. God created music and I applaud this man for his words that encouraged me to realize that no matter what you go through someone else goes through it too. Your life and legacy has done what only great men have done, Gave hope to the only world we know. Rest my brother your race is in the record books. And for that you will live Forever ❤️💯💯💯
I grew up on the Pac shit and it molded me to be smart on how i handled my business. Im 40 now and still bump his shit like i was 12. Pac you live in us love ya bra
That first verse is one of the deepest verses I've ever heard from any artist ever. Not just rap artist but ARTIST PERIOD! I feel it honestly forces the listener no matter what race to visualize the struggle of a young black male.
Cj Allen true...but instead of teaching the listener the struggles of a young black male I feel it teaches the struggling young black male that there's no excuses and blaming others will get you nowhere. that no matter what you'll still rise from the b.s
ya that first verse is deep. A lot of black males can relate who haven't had their fathers in their lives and their mom on drugs running the streets. It is NOT easy to be successful from that ESPECIALLY with poverty added. young black males have a much larger population than the average male to have to overcome that struggle, not to mention RACISM TOO!
Haitian Jack. Oh really? Why do you say that? And wasn't you hanging out with him? What happened with that? No man at his time and even now spit no real s*** like Tupac did. If he would have lived past 25 he would have been a very powerful man probably could have been the president if he put his mind to it. He was that political. He just had so many haters in his life. Jealousy is a b****.
What's crazy about 2Pac is he did so many classic verses and songs in such a short amount of time, that he never really got to listen to them. We listen dozens, hundreds, thousands of times. He just dropped the song and moved to the next one. Absolutely amazing. Just creating songs non stop never to listen to them.
Pac was the kind of person who could sit in a studio and write song after song, and they'd all be good. Scarface said he was talented like that. A revolutionary and a poet.
Clean ur ears out and listen to self-defense. If ur only understanding, then u put yourself in a position to overstan. If not, ur an advocate of the devil.

Yeah this song has a lot of meaning to me. I miss the days where I anticipated the next 2pac album. My big brother introduced me to him around 96 when All Eyez On me came out. Then he got his older albums too, so I got to here those and appreciate them. The Makaveli album is cold, but is haunting to listen to at times especially because of his murder right before it was released.
@@ThaMysteriousStrangerSame here this song has a lot of meaning to me and still does. Thanks for sharing your comment! Hope all is solid on your end 🙏🏼

2Pac's verse sends chills down my spine. He was a lyrical genius who put so much passion and aggression in his music. He could be smooth on one song and on the next he's raw & aggressive. This is one of the greatest rap verses and one of his best.
In Pacs verse he was reminising on his life like he was 80 years old or something and he was only 25 such a mature mind for such a young man we sometimes forget he was only 25 or younger dropping this knowledge

I was more so talking about everybody that was rapping on the song not singing or on the hook, but it still all love

@@nujerz_ Pac was in jail 98% of 1995. So We'll never really know. The recording of this "Still I Rise" album began in 1995. There's no telling if he actually did this exact song when he came home. Could be ANY song not included on this album .
@@ehlohimwhil5762 All the tracks are dated, I'm sure this is early 96. Kadafi's verse starts with "In 96". And Big Syke's hook "96 big body sitting on chrome" Was sampled of a All Eyez track.
what differentiates Tupac (and even Slick Rick and Guru) from others is that when listening to his words, the words quickly turn to images in our brains visualizing what he is saying.
Pac's lyricism was bursting at the seams with substance. That's what distinguishes him from other artists. Long after his passing his lyrical substance moves us in any and all directions.
Thats the coldest line in rap history "Mama got pregnant and papa got a peice of ass like how it began nobody gave a fucc about me pistol in my hand this cruel world could do without me" man thats the rawest line in rap history idgaf what nobody say

he’s talking about his mind state at 19 not him actually at 19
@ehlohimwhil5762 95 actually
I was born not to make it, but I did,
The tribulations of a ghetto kid, STILL I RISE!!! I tear up just about every time I hear this!!!
No matter when you listen to this, if u listen to this that means we are in the same struggle my friend
No rapper has got this much good wishes and loves what Pac got. Goat.
what differentiates Tupac (and even Slick Rick and Guru) from others is that when listening to his words, the words quickly turn to images in our brains visualizing what he is saying.

Yes, imagery!
There will never be another light of God like 2Pac to spread the word lyrically, and melodic in a prophetic way 2 the people.
''I was not born to make it but i did'' This hit me differently 2023.....Pac
Brought a tear to my eye . That was a real bar . Not lyrical but factual 💯 damn

Pac verse’s is perfect
Pac's lyricism was bursting at the seams with substance. That's what distinguishes him from other artists. Long after his passing his lyrical substance moves us in any and all directions.
thats why i come back listening to him every now and then, to remind myself my thoughts are okay and that im not crazy.
bee boo where Nas steal this at? Hope I don’t seem hostile, tired of idiots saying Pac “wasn’t influential”
Only real people can feel this song.

This man was only 25 when he died?? So much wisdom and understanding..Mr. Shakur the Greatest MC of all Times
I compare him to Muhammad Ali. A great man who boxed
He's great man who rapped
He was the next Malcolm X no doubt

Amen. Gone. To soon. It took a impact. On a lot. Of. Our people
EXPECT HIM LIKE YOU EXPECT JESUS TO COME BACK
He made me realize that in 25 years a human can accomplish great things. Things that can last eternity..
