    Buying a second hand or used road bike can be a magnificent way to saving a ton of cash and getting a great deal, as I was lucky enough to with my Giant Advanced TCR.
    In this video, Ash from Giant Sunshine Coast is going to walk us through a 14 point checklist when buying a used or second-hand road bike. We run through all critical elements, such as the Giant Advanced frameset, Shimano Ultegra Groupset, the Giant SLR One Carbon wheels etc.

    When buying a used bike, I usually simply get my tools out very slowly... allen key, chain wear indicator, micrometer. If the seller becomes anxious, it's a good sign there is something wrong with the bike.

    I'm new, just buying my first real bike , just used the first cheap city bike as a commuter, and I can see most of these issues on my old bike, but I still have the feeling that showing examples of the actual faulty bits instead of a perfect basically brand new bike would've been useful, still very thorough guide

    That trend, making new brands with french names is a bit risky. "Après Vélo" is on my language (french btw...) a référence to "après ski" wich mean the beers you drink after a day of skiing the mountains. It refers more to drunk english people in vacation than to the sport itself 😅.
    A bit like getting ideograms tattoo that is supposed to say "carpe diem" but Really means "little worm"

    Great video and a comprehensive list of things to look out for when inspecting for a 2nd hand bike that will come in pretty handy for many.
    A quick suggestion though perhaps can add in of timestamps for each listed point item as there were quite a lot of listed points and when one is referencing back to the video it makes it easier to find any set particular point

    @4:24 -Check True Wheels

    I’m enjoying the bike so far th-cam.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA My only real complaints are the brakes and the pedals. I feel like a bike designed for bigger people should have much larger pedals and more heavy duty brakes. I’ve only gotten two really good rides out of it, minimal downhill action, and the brakes feel like they’re already going out. A larger person has more momentum, so I think this wasn’t thought through very well. Also, I wear size 13-14 wide shoes. My feet cramp up on these pedals that are clearly made for smaller feet. Since I’m not a pro rider (and I don’t think many are who purchase this bike) I don’t think that the straps on the pedal are necessary at all. None of this takes away from the enjoyment I get from riding, however. I’ll just head to a bike shop to improve on a few things.
