Just be YOU and bring YOUR best "moves" and your best answers to any questions asked. The best chance you have of success is being genuine, transparent and authentic. Your band director already knows you and what you're capable of. Just put your best foot forward in your audition, and you'll be great. Please follow up and let me know how you do/did! Any advice on how we can recruit and have more people join our band program and actually stay😂? Because a lot of people came because of football season and as soon as it ended most of them left. How do we keep people there
You have to build strong friendships and relationships with all of the people in your band, and constantly be talking about all of the fun and exciting things that happen during jazz band, concert band, solo & ensemble, trips, etc. Know what draws them to band besides the football games, stand tunes, marching etc. You have to find out why they are emotionally connected to band, and then help them experience more of that, and look forward to more of that during the rest of the year.
