Maybe people will eventually miss the older cards in a year or so. I actually miss the gearhulks and such now. edit: after seeing the first game and thinking about older red decks, I do not in fact miss bomat courier.

Historic is the most fun I've been having in MTG for while now. I find myself matched up against a good variety of decks and it's fun. Lots of people I've seen playing decks similar to this I wonder if they all watched your video lol
We need to see Kaladesh, and Amohnket in historic. Then it would probably get a lot more attention. Scarab god, god pharos gift, energy shenanigans, heart of kiran, and all the old broken stuff, vs the newer more streamlined Ravnica mechanics. It would be pretty sweet to see how those things stack up against one another, even if it was an unbalanced mess.

I think WotC is supporting MTGO because it supports many formats that Arena doesn't have, such as Commander, Modern, Planechase, Pauper, Legacy, Vintage, And so on. I'm so dearly hoping that WotC ports over everything from MTGO to Arena, that would be amazing.

the reason Wizards realy mentioned historic is simple: it doesent make any money pioneer makes money because people can play so many different things in this new half-modern format. historic is meant to play stuff you cant play in standard anymore, that usually means "cards you already have" and therefore dont bring any profits to wizards. but i like this format, you can play it in direct challenge and when you gather a good friend, you can build 100card highlander decks and has some fun on arena. and i have the fear that this will be the closest we get to commander/highlander format on MTGA. (no brawl doesent count for me because it limits you to just standard, so you cant use the full card pool of arena) also you can solve your daily quests with historic, wich is nice to on MTGA historic, green is the new red i guess xD

That game vs Red was so nostalgic ;) I climbed to Mythic last season using Mono R because my pet Dimir Permission just kept getting blown out by Krasis decks (particularly Bant/Sultai Field). Was funny to see them back in action again. Man stompy got real good with Henge, fixes its biggest weakness. What do you think about Return of the Wildspeaker, though? Too slow?
When you have floating mana and you get quenched or want to cast the 5/5 adventure beast you need to go in full control to pay with the floating mana. It's stupid I know
the floating mana was from the castle, and can only be used to cast a creature or activate a creature ability, so couldn't be used to pay for quench cost though, right?

Best card to grab from sideboard with that deck is BY FAR oath of teferi... turn 5 you fae of wishes, get oath, play it, exile fires of invention, giving you access to more spells, play teferi, tuck 1 draw 1 say go... Cant tell you how many times i got concedes to this play ahah Can work with grixis+bolas too. Ps: i also reached rank 716 mythic with a bant reclamation deck this season, it wins 100% of the time with nutdraw on the play against anything (no joke), even against oko decks, but loses really fast vs gruul aggro which is gatekeeping me hardcore.
has anyone noticed a slight decrease in mono-red burn decks since rotation? nox, merchant, MTGJEFF, mogwalli, even CGB. i play against 12 decks all different last night. no mono red burn. i am so happy!
mono red hasn't gotten worse, either. I think it's a combo of having to craft mythic cards for torbran increasing the cost to craft red, and the green/blue meta just being too strong.
Is there an actual reason to play 4 copies of Once upon a time in monogreen deck? I mean, Once upon a time main value is mana fixing, but in monogreen it just feels weird. Maybe I'm underestimating it, but it just feels a bit too slow in Aggressive/Stompy decks. I guess it would make sense to play 2 copies, but 4 sounds like overkill. Maybe it's worth going for it just to improve your curve, but I still have my doubts.

Asking for more Historic support is a legitimate request (though I personally find it pointless, since I see Historic as just a temporary patch, not a longterm solution), but wondering why MTGO is "still" supported is really disingenuous, my friend. MTGO and Arena are not competing platforms. In fact, they are completely different things. MTGO is, as the name suggests, *Magic Online*, as in Magic: The Gathering in its online version. Arena is not. Arena is a video game where you get to play Magic: The Gathering. But that's not the whole MTG experience, which includes trading cards, as Magic's success is in no small part due to its being the first ever TCG. Cards on Arena are not tradable objects, whereas cards on MTGO are the exact counterpart of the physical ink & paper thing, you can buy and sell them individually, you can profit from them, you can speculate like it's the stock market, you can buy a bot that sells for you, there's an economy with its own currency, a whole secondary market where powerful merchants operate. Wizards can't just say, "Hey guys, MTGO is now closed, everybody, let's move to Arena!", because there's hundreds of thousands or even millions of private dollars invested in it. And it's pretty vital, if you look at the Twitch channels streaming MTG content, you'll find a lot of MTGO content, despite the fact that Arena is prettier to look at. Some of the streamers that were at the Mythic Championship, like Kenji Egashira, regularly stream on MTGO, and they're sponsored by the abovementioned merchants. Besides, MTGO allows for plenty of stuff that Arena will never be able to do, and if it didn't exist, all that stuff would be completely lost to digital players. For one thing, a pro can't test Limited on Arena, because that's just not how Limited work, Arena is completely useless (for now) as a training ground for Limited. I also find pretty baffling how Arena-only players got so salty about Pioneer. Pioneer is not on Arena. So what? Modern isn't, either. Same for Legacy, Vintage, Commander, and a dozen other popular formats. And it's not some conspiracy. They just *can't* be on Arena. How could one imagine that they would announce Pioneer as coming to Arena? Pioneer comprises 29 sets, Arena barely got to support 9 after two years of development. Did people really find realistic that they would say, "Hey, here's some news: 20 new sets will be available on Arena next month! Start stockpiling those wild cards!"
MTGO has a format, good for them, but you can't deny it is an old-world platform. I hope they have fun, but their players deserve something better whether it is an MTGO update or similar options on Arena. I don't want MTGO players to be abandoned, I want them to have a better experience. And I want Wizards to make that a priority rather than selling old cards.

I personally like both, but I know people who hates Arena's invasive animations, sounds, pets and whatnot, they feel like it's a game that caters to little kids.
