Spent last weekend with Derek, Dave, and John at the Juke Joint festival in Clarksdale, MS. They are the most talented and nicest people one could ever meet. They played at Ground Zero Blues Club and it was MAGICAL. SOOO GOOD.
I had the great pleasure to play with Derek in the mid 1990's. He is a great player, singer/songwriter and a great person. he was the voice of the Ted Nugent Band. My favorite singer of the 1970's...I feel lucky to have played drums for him.
Almost could have met you but timing slightly off, my band opened for that Derek, Carlisi and Devito project, The Big Ones I believe it was called, really cool all of them down to earth no super star arrogance shit I brought my St.Paradise and my Whitford / St. Holmes's albums to get autographed ,not very professional but I didn't care and I think Derek was honored by it,the only bad thing was they didn't do Live It Up and I was like WTF because we did a killer version of it but of course we didn't thinking they would and he's like you guys should have and we would have loved to pay him homage because lord knows if it were up to colossal head Ted nobody would know his name
@@frankd.506 Meh...a little twisted. Ted always gives Derek and his band props. And, if not for Ted, We may not know shit about Derek. I'm a Derek fan because of Ted.
Ted had the largest head in the business, not much for acknowledging the talent around him, it was a Derek song that got him on the radio when I was young, Hey Baby
@@frankd.506 on the other hand I have heard Ted brag about Derek st. Holmes vocal talents in interviews. Really talked him up. So, it's just that Ted knows What's happening at the show. Well Derek we'll talk after singing beautifully Ted Nugent wants to rock and roll some more
@@georgemijatovic3779 He might have mellowed with age ,it's good to hear because Derek is still extremely talented, I had the enormous pleasure of opening for a band he was in with Jeff Carlisi and Liberty Devito and I couldn't believe how down to earth they were, I was almost embarrassed being the opener and wanting to be professional but I brought two DSH albums to get signed because I have a sizable collection I'm rather proud of and remembering how cool he was saying it was an honor and jokingly said I almost forgot about the album with him and Brad Whitford, side sad note, Ben Orr of the Cars was a member but past before that show.Have a great weekend and a better 2021 PS Ive seen Ted and he's a blast too don't get me wrong. .
Only recently became aware that he was the one playing lead guitar at the beginning of the long Solo in Wang dang Sweet poontang from double live Gonzo. He still sounding incredible!
Damn listen to that voice, Derek's 66 or 67 and his voice is powerful and sounds fantastic, most singers from back in the day his age are tuning down and struggling to be able to sing not Derek "fantastic" rock on🤘🏻
Excuse me but I gotta get some of this . Mr DSHolmes is nothing short of being a bad cat his vocals are second to none & his strings well they speak for themselves . {JohnnieBazil }
Derek! you were a great force behind the Nuge!.. Sorry Nuge never gave his band the recognition that they deserved, .... All our Nuge fans really know you made Ted who he is today ... Ted is still a kick-ass, but Derek... You are awesome!... :)
i dont know why but.... i think its divine intervention.....this song interupts my life every cople weeks un intended. And i think it helps my heart. Fucking a Derrik u dserve tops....Someones about to rain on my P ....uhg feeee
Ted without Derek = no quality content but good guitar sounds, Derek without Ted = shitte music good vocals. And remember Rob Grange and Cliff Davies without those guys it doesn't work. They are the Wild Four it shouldn't only be Nugent and Holmes.
No doubt Derek is great...but not the lead guitarist or showman uncle Ted is. Btw, someone let that bass player to feel free to harmonize during the chorus. He has a mike.

Yep the man can still rock with the best of them!

@@blackdot3538 Thank you, they have their own site and im subscribed, some good music on there as expected
Never realized how much the original Ted Nugent sound was really Derek....Keep rockin'
And the bass player was Ted's former bass player as well.
Ted had the largest head in the business, not much for acknowledging the talent around him, it was a Derek song that got him on the radio when I was young, Hey Baby
Sure do miss Ted's work, or PLAYING.....Ya know?!

Derek St Holmes hasn’t lost his voice, great singer, guitar player and musician, wished he did more music
Check out Saint Paradise and Whitford / St. Holmes for more proof!!
Always Been a Huge Fan of Derek saddest thing is they couldnt seem to stay together and make more great music.
Well he sang a few on the free for all album along with meatloaf's hand full or songs..but yeah they were great together...too bad indeed
Derek should get so much more credit in the world of rock .. He really is a legend !!
the man is a national treasure!
Hell yes indeed
Detroit rocker!
Way cool. This is the most under rated song ever.
Great singer always has been always will be
One of my favorite songs!!!!
Just can't get enough of this Dude's playing and singing he's truly a legend in my book!!!
Only recently became aware that he was the one playing lead guitar at the beginning of the long Solo in Wang dang Sweet poontang from double live Gonzo. He still sounding incredible!
It is great seeing Rob Grange united with Derek on this song. Derek sings like he is 20 years old.
Damn listen to that voice, Derek's 66 or 67 and his voice is powerful and sounds fantastic, most singers from back in the day his age are tuning down and struggling to be able to sing not Derek "fantastic" rock on🤘🏻
One Hell of a guitar player and singer
Derek still wails! "Third Stone" may be the most quotable song ever......
Always been a favorite tune.

Derek just kicks ass!
Derek was and still is everything. Ted can play but that is it.
Excuse me but I gotta get some of this . Mr DSHolmes is nothing short of being a bad cat his vocals are second to none & his strings well they speak for themselves . {JohnnieBazil }
Scott was my favorite band and it was Derek's band
Derek! you were a great force behind the Nuge!.. Sorry Nuge never gave his band the recognition that they deserved, .... All our Nuge fans really know you made Ted who he is today ... Ted is still a kick-ass, but Derek... You are awesome!... :)

Love it! BUT! Miss Terrible Ted's Lead....

The voice 2nd only to Bonn scott
Love to hear 1000 knives...hint hint...
Nugents best song!!!!
😎
Ted's guitar is missing in this song
Ted was ancillary.
No doubt Derek is great...but not the lead guitarist or showman uncle Ted is. Btw, someone let that bass player to feel free to harmonize during the chorus. He has a mike.
He has a mic but can't carry a tune....
unfortunately Derek is never in the greatest singer conversations.
No doubt he is up there with Paul Rodgers, Steve Perry, Robert Plant etc...
Is not the same with ted
By God, it IS Bernie Sanders on bass......lol!!!
Just as good if not better than Paul Rogers. Nahh he is better
