OMG WANT!!! Sold my 1973 Super Beetle before I came to Portland about 20 years ago and I have always wanted a Sun Bug!! A couple suggestions: get a marine battery box and put your battery in it which will help cut down on the risk of the back seat. Arcing against the posts and starting a fire, ask me how I know! and replace the gasket around the engine compartment because you would be surprised at how much that will keep that engine cool. You should also carry a spare fan belt and a couple quarts of oil and keep an eye on these because that's what keeps these engines cool!! I really hope to see the little car around town because the 1303 V-Dubs are my favorite!!
Nice little VW. It looks like it would be a good one to have and fix as you drive it. I don't think the seat upholstery is original. I'm pretty sure the Sunbugs had corduroy inserts in the seats. I think I'd just replace the rear apron. The holes in the fender need to be repaired before they get any worse. The gas gauge issue may be a ground. It sounds good. I've owned and tinkered with VWs for the last 37 years. I got my first VW in 1987 and I still own it.
@@vwcadwagon yep you're right the girl I bought it from lived in California and when she walked out to the parking lot after work one night all her seats including the rears were stolen! So she found some pretty decent replacements and then used padlocks on the seat Adjusters after that
👍🏼Nice. Get rid of that fuel filter in the engine bay asap. Switch to svda dizzy, buy a stock 1303 air filter, and get the hot air pre-heat pipe installed and it’ll probably run sweet as👍🏼
