One of my favorite things about the mod is that you're able to combine your utility with the thrust, meaning you can trimp off of the environment and figure out new ways of flying around the stage. I haven't had this much fun messing around with the environment itself ever since I did monsoon Loader runs

when they said tank builds were OP. They weren't kidding
Idk if you tried the French gun that says "too much proc" its not something like 2x proc it's 10x lmao. If you get one bleed, atg, polylute/banjo or whatever it was called, they will pretty much activate every time you shoot and its only on a 1 second cooldown so stacking up a few backup mags can get a crapton of shots off and the bleed lasts forever as well.
I'm willing to say this is probably one if not the hardest survivor to master (modded and vanilla), with a skill roof and a replayability beyond insane

Funny tank is literally loader 2.0 with how you're able to fly around the environment except now you can have 15 health and a 3000% damage cannon
@@noxtide7043 In my opinion, calling the Celestial War Tank “Loader 2.0” is overstating its mobility quite a bit. In most configurations it already has quite poor mobility even while sprinting, and the inability to use the tank’s utility skill when out of fuel (which is easily depleted) puts to rest any dreams of flying across the map at absurd speeds. The tank is also completely incapable of jumping, and in order to travel vertically it must use fuel to propel itself.
However, it *is* able to climb nearly 90° inclines and almost completely negate fall damage if the thrusters are used to slow the tank’s decent.
(If you want to fly across the map every ten seconds, though, equip the Staghound body and turret. Even a lesser wisp will send you into orbit if it hits you.)
calling tank difficult to master is an *understatement*
because I'm currently trying to assemble a table that contains every stat benefit for each body type
but then I realize something: *the stats on the body doesn't give you hp numbers*
so now I have to figure out how to find each component's HP factor
@@rydergolde3169 from the few games (about 25, a third of them being at least partially successful) that I played with the tank, using multiple body parts, often doing hybrids, I noticed that usually the hp increases per level starts off as hp*lvl, but it has diminishing returns the more you level up
or I'm just insane and I imagined the whole thing
@@buky69 apparently one of the mods i had (some kind of appearance customizer) conflicted with the war tank for me
and i could not see the base stats for the tank whatsoever, and i was on the brink of driving myself insane to math out the HP for each part
luckily, i tested for conflicts before smashing my face into the nearest wall
that aside, it is a *really* fun character, and i absolutely need to keep throwing builds at the metaphorical wall to see what sticks

This mod is so sick... come a long way since I first saw it teased.
Reign is disabled by sprinting, so using it while sprinting cancels the sprint and the ability. Autosprint mods make reign literally unusable, though they might fix this later.
Aaand apparently in a patch recently they fixed this!

so fun fact about brass Monoliths: they don't have any damaging attack, the only attack being that shockwave that knocks you away from them while they fill the map their brass contraptions.
in turn, they have *Jacked* amounts of Hp
This thing is a blast, but OOF, the flying controls make any required jump puzzle a REAL PAIN. Yes, call me bad (I am) but I really wish it didn't have tank controls in the air.
Also the primary machinegun is super good, when I used the lightest chassis/turret wisps literally were sending me flying like 200 ft, and T to HOOOOOONK.
For me the controls are fine but I might just be used to flying games/flight Sims think of it more as a helicopter in the air
The controls turn in to pitch and roll in the air and so all you need to do to turn is to aim your tank in a difrent direction (also don't hold w in the air just get the angle at like 45 degrees then you will jump forward)
Flying takes a bit to get used to, id use either the spiked dash due to 1,5x fuel to combine with a jump, it gives good forward momentum even though it does still die off a lot mid air.
But once you kind of get how to fly the biggest issue is getting flipped by enemies and unpredictable floating in place if you have too many movement speed items.

I will say that the mod has definitely gotten better since it's been a few days. That i know of its gotten at least like 5 updates. definitely more playable now (also starting with 20 hp is actually kinda funny)

The recharge being situationally denied @ ~7:50 is the exact same for Mul-T power mode with Lysate Cell. RoR2 diff ngl.
You need to hold reign for some time before its ready, it does a beep when ready.

Edit: Though the landing upside down thing needs to go (or just be a visual gag and not actually hurt the player or anything) and everything apparently needs a buff.
It is just that it deals nothing but like a half second to get up it just gives you a normal fall damage
I think its fine, especially when you can well pick full maus body and have ONE THOUSAND HITPOINTS AT LVL 4 OR SOMETHING SHITS CRAZY.

I really hope the flip gag stays. I think the solution would be to give you more fine control over your position in the air, so you getting turned over is more your fault.
This may make the flight a bit too easy to do well though, but I don't think that's a bad thing either, since air mobility is so important in this game. It's not like you cant practically fly with the other survivors with a couple hopoo feathers, and even with well controlled flight this guy will never match Loader

I’ve been playing with this mod nonstop lately, I find that apc turret and body feels nice with the minigun. If you haven’t tried it you should try out the French gun

Really love the mod, but honestly either the physics of the boost need to be looked into or Billy just needs to be immune to fall damage entirely. It's far too easy for not just the amount of times Woolie got stuck to happen to someone else, but just overall once you're out of fuel you're a sitting duck who likely took more damage that was necessary just to hit the ground. I know the fuel mechanics stresses being compatible with jump sources, but Head Stompers shouldn't be required
Yeah 100%. Once I got some practice with it doing simple jumps wasn't too bad but anything jump puzzle-ish was just torture.
That's what hurts the most, the physics make Voidling literally impossible to beat unless you have probably vase in order to skip to the portal and that's assuming it works.

No joke this mod is such a good idea. They just need to fix the movement and offer a couple of definitive classes that are balanced and have distinct play styles.
My first tank run I ran full churchil with no primary, the minigun, the launch and the missile side pods
and let me tell you, just dont stop sprinting and it goes HARD
The mass assignment and inertia tensor on the tank clearly haven’t been edited, meaning that the object is a simple skin on top of the humanoid player character. This is why it’s behaving so erratically while airborne and during collisions.

This is already one of the best character mods this game has ever seen. Crazy replayability and unique build crafting potential will do that

I think they could make it so you are always upright but can hold a button to allow air rolling for tricks. Or at least make the flipping much less punishing.
Tbh I think it's fun it's like piloting a helicopter a bit but a lot less painstakeing
I don't think that's the issue, it's pretty much a core part of the tanks identity to have a trick system with the flying but I think it should have the ability to air roll around without boost, or at least lock in the rotation so you can stop spinning at the right time to go upright.
@@aarepelaa1142 Oh yeah, I totally forgot about the flying. I think the button to unlock rotation in the air would still technically work but it might be clunky. I think what you proposed is good but Idk what to do about things like beetle guards flipping you over. I guess just not make them flip you?
@@Dayrips you kinda have to dodge the guards, if you use boost to do it it should work fine. The tank is very mobile with allowing to run everywhere while shooting so even without proper jumps dodging enemies isn't as painful as you'd think, as long as you're not running a super slow tank, i think the cromwell set is pretty strong movements wise.
if you flip it's likely entirely your fault, either you built it wrong or you used it wrong. either that or you go up a tiny ramp at mach 3 and get sent flying off the planet

Maus pieces are insane with HP
The jet boost mechanic is cool, but its so jarringly different from every other character who always stays upright. MUL-T is the best comparison. I know its just a mod and they can do whatever, but that shit handles worse than Rocket League and kinda ruins the cool potential of playing as a tank
Tbh think of becoming a easier to fly helicopter insted of a flying tank that's how I do it
The flying mechanic is mostly useful for going straight up anyway also skipping mithrix pillars with the tank is a pain in the ass like you fly up high after trimping but holy shit it just overshoots and like you're right there so fucking close yet its a kilometer away from success.

this is vary fun
The boost is fine, it’s just very different as you say. It handles unlike anything else in the game but you get a feel for it as you play the character more. You can’t really treat this as any other survivor, and personally Im glad they made it unique instead of just making the literal tank vehicle handle like a person-sized character.
The only real issue are the weird physics related bugs imo.
I just want to imagine 100 players as tanks being an armored tide washing over every level. Yeah, the game would break but it would be perfect. :)

I used that with only minigun and mines which made everything nightmare difficulty
Yeah I tried to play the lightest chassis/turret combo and getting shot by wisps was doing 60% of my HP and blasting my tank 200 ft away.

A big problem with this mod rn is the fall damage and weird hitbox while midair
If you get a headstompers it really makes the survivor more fun imo

they should release an update for the mod so that you can replace your honk with a mega honk that blasts enemies back and deals damage but you can only use it once every 15 seconds or something
