The other two players on stage are truly in awe of Justin. You can just see it on their faces. He's just such a great vocalist and song writer. His lyrics are always heartfelt and clever. Love this man.
Coming from a Yank in the land of the Virginia shores U.S., never have understood WHY Del Amitri never became better known/influential? In 1992 this song, in particular, helped me through a very nasty divorce which I got shafted BIG💰TIME⁉️ Found comfort and a new direction to make me a better, happier, and healthier person. Great version of this song that makes it so new😎 and fresh.
I use to listen to this at night when I was at the bottom.... 1992, waiting on her. Tonight I have a better wife...... but theres an inexplicable hole in my heart. I LOVE Justin Curry.... what a remarkable man.
Saw Justin in Leeds this week and watched the Brits last night... There is something very wrong with british music when this guy can't get a look in thanks to to paler, weaker imitations. His writing remains tremendous and his live (solo) performance was breathtaking!!! Well done son!
Really sorry that you missed Del Amitri. It shows the respect they had towards their fans to play in a small downtown club as you say. We are so lucky that Justin is still touring in the UK. I hope you get your chance again.
I like this live version the best. The original always seemed to happy and poppy for such a sad story. I can feel the pain as he sings , even though it may just be a made up scenario.
I see songs like this and I am sooooo pissed. Several years ago (probably mid 1990's) Justin and Del Amitri came to Macon, Ga. of all places to play in a small downtown Macon club. I wanted to go so badly but got tied up in something else and did not make it. I have been kicking myself for over 15 years on that Shite decision. Wow. What a talent this guy is. I hope I don't have to fly to Scotland to actually have a chance to see this guy again. Come back to the States J.C.
Seeing J C solo again next Sunday (sep 15) and Cambridge, Manchester, Liverpool, and Wolverhampton for Dels 2014 ,, Been waiting a long time for this reunion
Thank you Edward Crawley for mentioning Justin Currie. Fancy that over decade on You Tube and I must have been last to know of this great singer songwriter.
Just found this singer. Great voice and this SONG WRITERS CIRCLE is crackn’!!! Nice people finish last or not at all it was once said NO WONDER I AM ALWAYS THE LAST TO KNOW!! It’s gonna be a lonely and long life to come just as it has been for me so far. (Boohoohoo) Oh well, CHEERS ANYWAY TO ALL THE NICE PEOPLE OF THE WORLD!!!!! And to Ms. Wonderful, as I search for U, we will find each other!
I'd love the chords to this, he is playing a different version than usual but it is much nicer. It must be a tuning because the finger positions make no sense in standard tuning.

A brilliant & much underrated writer of some of the finest English pop songs of the last 20 years.
Absolutely beautiful…!!!
Always been one my favs. Such a beautiful song. The rocking out version is just as sweet. Great song.
The song we all wish we had written....Justin Currie is an amazing singer/songwriter.
He writes most of the sings I wish I had written.Great stuff 😊

As a Yank from Cleveland and Norfolk, USA, I agree.
OMG tears! divorce 1992 Thats the same for me and this song...... struggled for many years afterwards.

Love this stripped back version. The words come to the fore. A musical gem!!
I always loved this song, but this version is deeply impressing me
Brilliant !
What an incredible version! So much emotion comes out of his voice.

Give us the whole gig, Terry, you blessed one. What would I give to be in that room with these songs played solo on an acoustic guitar.

This song brought me so much comfort when I was the last to know in the early 90s, thanks for posting, great video.
Who is here in 2021? The Dels are going on UK tour starting in summer! Barrow lands gig in December , tickets on sale now for tour
Perfection.
Fantastic voice! great music!
Justin is awesome.
In fact, I wanna see a Songwriters Circle of Neil Finn, Justin Currie and Jeff Tweedy. That would be tremendous.
I'd love to see a songwriter's circle with Justin, Roddy Frame, and Paddy McAloon. I do love Neil Finn too.

The only artist who constantly and consistently reminds me of my humanity. Thanks Justin.

You'll be the first to know...... 'tho
Some people prefer the melody to the brutal truth of the lyrics
Warning to all Justine fans....Plaese listen to his new album Stardust before you buy. I didn't worst waste of money ever....My own fault.
Does anyone know the chords he's playing on this? I know it's in the DADGAD tuning but for the life of me i can't fathom the shapes!? :-o
Thanks for this, A superb song.
