It's not real you know. Just thought I'd remind you. It fits the bill between serious and comedy as it's comedic whilst trying to be serious. Technically and historically the whole series is a disaster. It is entertaining if only for some of the dire content.

I noticed that when they were preparing to bail out, the ball turret gunner came out of the turret wearing his chute, from what I've read, it was too cramped in there to wear a chute.

Bless you brother !!! I know what SNAFU meant in the military, but this dizzying display of ineptness in the characters seems to reflect the writers themselves. Weird note, the severely annoying cowardly Travis ( Don Harron) came home to Canada for some more acting, but gained real fame as the host of CBC radio's flagship morning show for a few years. Shatner was in an earlier episode, same Shakespeare Festival background at Stratford ONTARIO... but the US got to keep him. Not long from this to Star Trek. Women and being on the ground in occupied territory brought out the worst writing I think. On the other hand, there was this urge to write a morality tale, as in the Law & Order franchise, but most hour long dramas have a bad guy, an agent or cop and a shoot out having crashed cars trucks and helicopters in the process.

As today, TV shows had limited budgets and had only a week or so to complete filming. They did what they could with what they had, and if all they had was Southern California then Belgium and Eastern Europe were going to look like high desert. And, strangely enough, there were a few Roman Catholics left in the Soviet Union despite persecution, although I doubt the production people cared that much --- probably no icons in the Fox prop department.

I’m afraid you cant come up with a lot of plot ideas when it comes to air warfare. It’s not like Combat where the setting is rich with ideas of human drama. Kids who grew up watching Combat spent their afternoons playing soldier and enacting shooting scenes with the enemy. You cant do the same playacting and pretending to be a bomber pilot.. It was more fun doing infantry. Maybe that’s why 12 o’Clock died a slow death.

It was so lame I had to finish watching it. After the clerk runs out of the church with the crucifix and gets shot...why did the Germans stand up and huddle around him assuming he was the only one inside the church? Didn't they see several people shoooting at them before the clerk ran out? Poor writing. Enough said about this episode. If you want to watch a really awful script, watch it. Otherwise move on. Hey now they weren't trained infantry men. They were trained to fly, not to fight on the ground.

@@dindinprivate3477 wrong, they were trained to escape and evade, but they did fail in overall combat training. This was something that was looked into but speed in training was over the likelihood of combat!

Read your history. Stalin was already in power well before WWII. Russia was invaded during both WWI & WWII (along with wars in the 1800's), and, at some point, by most Western powers (Germany, Italy, France, England, USA, etc - why Russians don't trust NATO). After WWII, Stalin announced Russia would not be invaded again, and, indeed, has not by a foreign power since.
