- golden towers in tower defense simulator are some of the best things you can get, but it is pretty annoying for several reasons. i also wish there were more golden towers, golden commander and joh- outlaw would be really cool to see

Fun fact: When I got enough cash for a golden crate I let my cousin open it and he gave me back my phone for me to find he got golden pyro

I think that when you get a golden skin, it should automatically apply the boosts to all of your other skins that you have for the same troop

Honestly, I just got my first golden skin (it was crook boss, its pretty good) and I'm way to burnt out to grind for the chance to get something better, he does have a point. the grind really isn't worth it for something so small. still, this is my opinion and they are cool in a way, so go out in get one if that's what your heart desires
I understand, I got golden crook boss for my first one and am almost getting my second one, but I think you should choose which one you want, as you can get a bad tower and wasted your time, but they look cool, most of the time

I got gold cowboy as my first, I’m pretty sure the only difference besides the damage increase and price increase is that instead of every 5 shots, it’s every 4 shots for cash. But the worst part in my mind is that it’s the same cash range.

I feel like there should be a “turn on golden mode” option for when you get a golden version of a tower, so it still has the stats of the tower when golden, but you can still use other skins
Or you could upgrade the golden troops. Like when selecting them and doing that gives you the golden skin

Imagine if every, or most, skins in the game changed something about the tower, so depending on which skins you have, you can choose the skin you want. Of course, each skin could be different, so you can strategize with which skins to use.

That'll be very very tedious to grind. Also can be pay2win and I can imagine how painful unobtainable skins will be. Also it'll be hell for new players, they will have to know this meta and that meta. Isn't this game just meant to be something simple to relax too?
if there is a feature to transfer golden skin boosts to a skin of the same tower (if you own golden version of that specific tower) then make it have like golden particles or an indicator that this tower is using the golden skin perks

fun fact if u use toxic gunner and golden pyro or any pyro then they wont make enemys faster but toxic will only make enemies 40 slowers

I've been stuck on hazmat militant and green mini for like 3 months and it hasn't changed. Some "daily shop"
I mean I guess the devs wanted something for end game players to be able to grind to but I do completely agree that the buff should be applied to all skins not just the golden so your not being forced to use that exact skin

Golden crates are severely overpriced. I mean you can grind for a insanely long time and get a bad golden skin. It's probably only worth 25k or 30k or even better 15k.

they should add an option where if you own the gold, you can enable an option to equip any skin but have the buff of the golden skin.
in other words, a button to enable golden buffs on other skins (as long as you still have the gold skin)

basically I also have a idea for the skins buff its that you can equip "two" skins like a golden tower skin and a normal tower skin it still has the same damage buff or whatever its just that the skin has golden highlights to show that its golden this could work for other buffing skins also the buff skins cant stack like platinum and golden mixed together because that would be too op I guess

After grinding coins for days maybe even weeks, rng for gold crate will give you this:
Golden crook boss, golden soldier, and gold pyro
golden crook boss is 2nd best in terms of dps

i just simply gave up at the game when they give me the pyro the first time, then crook boss the second time.

i dont think that they should add golden skins to towers that are already op. people already use those towers, so it is kind of pointless... in my opinion it would be much cooler to see golden variants for towers that are barely used, such as sniper, so people can actually have a reason to use it instead of leaving half of their inventory untouched.

They should add GOOD buffs to sniper instead of just -0.1 firerate. Soldier is a tower that is barely used by good players. They did make a golden version of him but it SUCKS. It cant even carry early game of fallen. Nah, not even doing too well for molten mode. So yeah if they do make golden skins for towers that are not used they should make them good.

My friend spent ages grinding for a golden crate only to get golden pyro. You really should be able to choose the tower so you don't end up like my friend.
I like the price tag on a golden crate… it keeps golden towers in the hands of seasoned players.

Here’s an idea: You can combine golden skin to any skin you want if you have a gold skin.

Personally, I think the solution is to make the Golden Crate/The Golden Skins become rather a passive for the towers. In game it would apply a shine to your tower/s but you can still select the skin you want. The passive would change the upgrade, damage, you know, everything that a Golden Skin does, but, it doesn't change the look of your tower/s apart from the shine. It would allow for other skins to be used with the Golden Tower passive. Just an idea :D

I am completely on John's side. Because, this game wants you to play More and more and more and more until you get tired of grinding. Then, TDS will be AFRAID to lose the players grinding for golden crate. That's why they added the 10K gold for 850 robux. Because they WANT you to pay 4 THOUSAND robux on a SINGLE crate on a GAME. And the chances of getting the Gold Scout/Pyro, it's gonna be a BIG chance. So then they want you to pay more and more robux to gamble. You need about 100K Cash to remove Scout and Pyro. (50K if your lucky). Then when you get Gold Scout and Pyro, TDS again wants you to Keep grinding 24/7 JUST to get a skin that deals 50% more damage. I'd say 50% is SUPER low. Just imagine, you payed 4 thousand robux/ 50K gold to get a Useless pyromancer tower that only deals 50%? Really? At least make it a BIT bigger.

It took me 2 years to get 1 golden crate. To be fair, I only played during holidays and weekend but still, 2 years for 1? I swear, if I get a bad golden tower I would just quit TDS and go back to Tower Battles.
edit: the thing is i already got every single tower except Accelerator.
bro it usually takes 1 month if you grind on the weekends, but if you've got a tighter schedule it takes 2 months
maybe focus on getting better towers like the accelerator so u can grind faster
Try getting better tower and some farming strategies, it does help a lot.
If you follow the strategy, it may takes only 1-3 month to get all gold towers.
Or if you really have time, it would takes only 1-2 month.
I grinded 2 whole golden crates during the Halloween 2020 event
I’ve gotten 20k coins just from messing around in molten mode with accel the past week
It takes a hundred battles to get one crate so assuming you do one battle each day then you could get it in 50 weeks excluding the holidays :P
I agree but also have the option to use the gold skin. You unlock the buff, along with a free skin to use.

I have a idea to get golden crates easily to not make them suck anymore. How about if you buy VIP in the game, you get 3 golden crates instead of 3 premium crates.

I think instead of a golden skin, it should be a golden particle affect. That way you can still use the skins you want with it.

Maybe make a case named particle cases and when you open it you can apply it to different towers like for minigunner u can make a red particle effect and it can be called Minigunner's Blessing.

mybe you can choose the golden skin as the normal skin but then be able to choose a skin over it so then you still need golden towers but you can have your favorite skin on top of the tower so then its not gold skin but your skin with the buffs

I hate that it wasn't enough for the enemies to be rng based, the damage of accel to be rng based, and the cowboy's money giving ability to be rng based, they had to go ahead and make golden crate rng based as well. It's the reason why my first gold crate gave me golden pyromancer, who is basically useless because all he gets is some range.

To fix this problem maybe when you get the golden skin of the tower it automatically becomes much more stronger even if you aren't equipping it basically like an upgrade once you get it it applys for all skins.
also I really think they should consider lowering the price of the golden crate to maybe 40k or 35k since lower than that would be unfair for the people who bought it for 50k. This is just my opinion to solve these problems

I think they should make the golden towers seperate towers, but also making the skins for the normal versions of those towers applicable to the golden ones. It would probably take more effort, but I think it would be worth it for the wellbeing of the game.

The fact that a special cosmetic item gives buffs is just insane, and is probably just a way to make people give them money but makes the games balance even worse and this entire game is just frustrating for noobs

Normal skins should have like 10-15% boost
The thing I hate in tds is how when you start off you either HAVE to play with like three other average players to win to example molten mode. Other games have it so you can beat it on your own but the extra "towers" you can buy just makes winning much faster and easier. But below forces new players to beg "CAN YOU CARRY ME PLEASE???" because what else are they gonna do? play solo and get to round 10 and get like 100 coins? Imagine trying to buy new towers if you barely make 100 coins per 15 minutes of games.

@@jayjayjonny5043 No, damage per hit does not mean anything unless u can back it up with very high range like ranger. It’s all about dps, in which gold scout only does 20. Sure, scout has the best normal to golden stat spike, but it’s still bad.
