Yet I don't mind seeing alchemy later down the line once we have seen a broad picture of the meta and when new cards come out. It could also be the time for other format like historic and brawl ! Also i'm a little sad that the standart videos have been shorter lately, I hope you don't get too tired getting all the footage you need !

It feels refreshing to see something different. 4. You are a good resource people can use to improve their gameplay. 5. Please, just do what you like. Everyone loves watching you play regardless of what you choose. If you don't do Standard, someone else will anyway. At this point, Wizard of the Coast needs to come up with solutions. Here's the long format! On the one hand, Standard is the "affordable" format most people can play. People who seek guidance for that format will search for Standard videos. On my part, I really improved my gameplay by watching you play Standard and listen to you walk me through your moves. I learned specific strategies, general rules, and most importantly I think, what mindset I should adopt to make my decisions. I don't think I would be able to play at the same level without it, and I think others can benefit from it too. I never really played your decks (I really like making my own), but I learned from them. On the other hand, I think you are partly responsible for Standard being so strong so quickly. Players like me have little time to figure out decks for themselves with the few cards they have that the strong Meta decks are already out and everyone is playing them. It's hard to create original, somewhat competitive decks with limited wildcards since almost everyone is playing championship level decks a few days after release. But I say you are "partly" responsible because there are so many resources people can use, with decklists published everywhere. I think this takes the fun out of magic and is slowly ruining the Arena gameplay. Don't get me wrong: watching you play standard is really fun and helpful! But people should be creating their own decks, much like you enjoy doing yourself. This is the true fun of magic: creating your very own deck. And no one does it. Which gets me to my point. I think going for Alchemy is a great idea. From what I understand, Alchemy is more expensive, and fewer people probably play it for that reason. It doesn't mean that watching you play it isn't enjoyable. I hate the historic format, but I love watching Quazar play it. I don't play Alchemy, but I really love watching you play it.
I like the competition, but CGB you forgot one thing.... You! I want standard but then I can't just sit there knowing there is more cgb to watch... Eventually I cave and watch the alchemy because you are just too fun to watch. Thanks for the hard work
The Alchemy videos will still be up after the battle is over. I'm voting for standard (so I'm putting all my watchtime there), but after the battle is over, I'll probably go back for the sake of appreciating CGB.
I've been slipping, CGB Usually I'm watching your vids all the way through (or at least listening in the background) - because my "job" fortunately allows me to do that Just had vacation... not as much watch time I'm back now though Thanks for the azorius :) Edit: just by watching you, I feel like I've gotten so much better at MTGA. Typically I play limited with a little standard thrown in. The way you break things down has helped my thought process in tough spots.
Post 2 videos a day, post 1 video a week, I don't care. I love your analytic, in-depth, deliberate way of playing and casting your own games. I'm not an MTG player for a while now but your content scratches that itch :D

When you watch the Alchemy video first and then the Standard video second, there just seems to be less excitement on what can happen in any match. Vice versa is also true. If you watch the Standard video and think it's fun, it's always more exciting at what else could be added in the Alchemy version.
I hope CGB continues to post Standard vs Alchemy mirrors. I don't have a preference. I am enjoying watching the difference between both formats. Keep your channel diverse., IMO.

I'm sorry to hear that a minority of Team Standard was so toxic that it cost us the streak, but I'm glad you got some time to collect yourself and move forward. I'm disappointed that those same individuals may be rewarded with winning the battle of the dojo, but watch time is king. Although I've been using my prime subscription on Twitch, I've never been able to tune in live as I'm at work during that time. It's been a great few years, am I'm glad to have shared in the journey.
Been watching you since Yorion! Not my main account, but the most important thing is that you like it. I think you prefer Alchemy given how often you mention it offering better games, etc. in Standard videos. If Wizards knew how to design cards or not reprint Time Warp, I'd say Standard. But Alchemy let's them "fix" their errors. UW Control is best content!
Definitely for Standard, even though I stopped burning so much money on paper Standard, don’t play Arena, and have decided EDH is the paper format for me given my vast library. Always appreciated your content CGB. I like the little songs as well.

So, regarding CGB's advice about patience and sweepers, most often when I lose playing mono-black or Dimir it's because I didn't sweep when I should have rather than sweeping when I shouldn't. I'm pretty sure that's because my sweepers are primarily Meathook, but I want to ask my fellow TH-camrs if that follows? (There's also the memorable time I decided to wait for further zombies against Dimir zombies and they dropped Headless on me.)
Sensei should train an Uchi-deshi for whichever format doesn’t come out on top. The One in best of One makes a deck for one format, the student tools it for the other. Keeps up the double content!

I like that the Battle is over for now. Just do what you want to do and let the MTG universe sort of point you in the direction that makes sense. New set release, play Standard for a while... then new Alchemy cards will drop and you can switch to Alchemy for a while... then switch back and forth as you see fit, until the next Alchemy update and/or the next new set.
To be fair, I think (even with the bans) Standard has been stale for a while, so I'm thinking alchemy is just more appealing for the next 24 hours. Once the freshness of Kamigawa hits I dont think we'll need alchemy's variety as much. You do you tho boo

Azorious was my strongest deck befor the bans, got gutted pretty hard. I think Devastating Mastery is amazing agains green and Orzhov. I might give this one a try.

I think standard is going to be the most viewed up front because of paper nostalgia. When it is solved or becomes unbalanced, alchemy will be the choice as the cards are adjusted. Probably wax and wane that way for the foreseeable future. Just follow the numbers and your heart CGB, you’ll drag us along with you!
Still voting, but just saying. One way or another, I'll be very pleased when (I assume) we'll be back to long videos with occasional variations instead of multiple shorter ones. Even the curated experience of watching several games gives us a better feel for the deck, and more variety in opponents.
Hopefully standard wins. I still play paper with friends and we generally always play standard and try to surprise each other with what deck we’re gonna play. Sometimes it’s insane jank, sometimes it’s secret sauce from a cgb upload.

It's pretty hilarious how everyone on Standard ladder immediately switched to the Orzhov tokens deck within a couple weeks of the Epiphany banning. Like, it's a good deck, but it's not Epiphany-level busted, and everyone is running _exactly_ _the_ _same_ version of it even though you could take the concept in all sorts of different directions.
Obviously I'm a little psycho... I really enjoy CGB Standard Content, but I hate UW Control. Man, do I hate it... Thank you CGB for not starting your new streak with numerous U/W variations 😀

I love when they get super smug like this player did and decide do dump their hand to kill a few of your creatures... that you were probably going to kill when you wiped the board next turn anyway. They make the job so much easier. You basically turned Emeria's Call into a discard spell here.
I would love to play both formats but i'm into more games than just MTGA and it's just not affordable to play both formats. Buuuut you should do with whatever floats your boat so your motivation stays high and provide the best content while also enjoying it yourself
The poor watch times are partially my fault. I'm a single father with a special needs child, so often times I have to set the video down for hours, sometimes for the rest of the day but then there's new videos out and I wanna catch up... But I will say I think Alchemy has been looking better so far.

At first I didn’t really care for having two videos a day…but I think now I can appreciate having 2x as much UW control time
You don't really get 2x you just have to click on 2 vids that equal about the same run time as one vid before the battle for the channel

I feel like standard is gonna win this battle. I’m ok with that. Having alchemy be a special thing is nice, kind of like having random brawl videos.
