Thanks!
Nice review
I'm intrigued by this as I'm working on this would be more than a useful resource. Not sure if i will use M. Cookes rules as im into Index Card rpg at the moment but this is going on the Zee List for sure good
old Satan can pop it in my stocking in a few months time.
Kurt have you ran this one? I've looked at it and would like to hear some talk about it being ran.
Well, maybe I'll take a look at it.
I didn't know that there were White Wolf vampires descended from Judas. In oWoD the western ones are all from Caine. Dunno about the new.
A 'World Of Darkness' special would problably be cool, then.
WOD judgment...which is better the old or new version?
I kinda like the idea of a foothold situation...what are the mundanes doing about all this?
So it's WoD d20? Interesting...
Well, I'm sorry you feel that way. I think you can get the same level of story telling and adventure from Spycraft D20 or Gurps with all the stops pulled as cinnematic unisystem. A game is whatever the GM and the players want to make it.
I love this guy. I love his style of presenting games: Right to the point. I really, really like this videos. Thank you very much for them! I will buy some stuff just for your presentation.
They don't have any rules for Changeling:The Lost. :(
Actually, would you ever review some of the Old World of Darkness stuff? There are some pretty rabid fans of it out there (me included)
I have this book, and would still like to play it sometime. I like it since you can even put in books from other D20 system.
well. kinda glad i never picked up this book. went to the store and saw this on a shelf and ALMOST bought it but now after really looking at it via this review. i wouldn't of liked the new world setting they created.
Honestly, this review was a relif for me, this game is not actually a WoDlike, but more post-apoclyptic. Maybe i play this game or i start storytelling it.
I'm off to buy this book. Sounds like a fun game to run.
I agree. The new WoD does little for me. I'm much more ticked off about how they destroyed Changeling. It was the slightly brighter World of Darkness. Now it's Lovecraft.
Too bad. I would have paid you to ship it to me. It sounds great.
It is a pen&paper Roleplaying Game. Google it.
I want to order this great looking system/game!
what other books I need in order to run a campaign properly?? - maybe some sort of a d20 related book?
What about reviewing an oldie like Planescape? Or Monte Cook's city setting Ptolus?
Sounds cool. I like WoD's take on vampires where their powers are related to a curse upon sinners from God. Much more flavorful to me in its' morality (vampires innately tending towards evil and the horror of bodily corruption from wickedness) than a lot of Anne Rice, Buffy, Twillight watered-down vampire takes. Where they're more people than monsters.
Interesting, I've never heard of this one. I love WoD because of the d10 system, but a d20 game in WoD seems like it could be fun.
I second your opinion, Mr. Wiegel. I've never been a big fan of d20 games, but Monte Cook's World of Darkness is good enough that it's managed to minimize, if not completely overcome, my dislike for it. The setting is so chock full of adventure and storytelling opportunities it's unbelievable. It's a shame many people won't give it the time of day because it is a d20 game...
MCWOD is entirely self-contained ... you don't need any other books.
Does this game have a fuck truck of supplements to keep up with, or is it a one and done book?
It is a one and done book.
Do you like MMO's as White Wolf and CCP games have merged in order to create this game in MMORPG format
Monte Cooks world of darkness is nice, but its bad if players rolls mage and want to KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT THE PLOT! :S
my friend got this a couple days ago, and i have one word for it.....
FUUUUUUUUUUNNN!!!!!!!!!!!111oneoneone
D20 is TRASH near Strytelling/Storyteller sytems...Sorry it's my opinion...
My opinion is that YOU are TRASH.
A d20 system and you can play humans and supernatural beings? Man this is Rifts. And Rifts is a failed project compared to the Savage World edition.
...and the art direction sucks. The original WoD-products always looked great. This stuff just looks tacky.
Arrrgh.
I'm sorry, Kurt, but I currently hate the current World of Darkness, and I hated the idea of Monte Cook getting his mitts on anything related to the World Of Darkness. I found that more often times than not, players familiar with Cook's Dungeons and Dragons would turn World of Darkness games into mindless hack n slash fests and the true art of roleplaying and storytelling would just be killed.
