Such great design - reminds me of 60's Italian styling ... Amazing technique. I must admit this is the first I have seen of these. I subscribed immediately ...
Beautiful work and just found you so have subscribed. Could you please tell what tools for making the lines and circles and show in a video when using tools? Thanks so much
Hey I’ve just found you and love your bowl. Haven’t done and of this work but going to give it a go! What tool do you used for the lines - can you please show a close up of all the tools used so we get an idea of how to make the marks? Thanks so much and I have subscribed!
Thanks for subscribing! I use a variety of tools to make the lines. Loop tools and scrapers. I use a bent hacksaw blade as a chatter tool to make the random marks on the edge.
Did you say that you bisque fire the plate after the design work on the underglaze and then after bisquing you then add the outer glaze and then do your final firing. Sorry, it wasn't quite clear and I have never worked with underglazes before so wasnt sure if you raw fired the whole piece or whether there is a bisque in between. Thank you very much. A great introduction for me to try sgraffito.
That's correct. Undergalze can go on before the initial bisque fire. After that fire, I will apply three coats of clear and do the final glaze fire. Glad you enjoyed the video!
tauresa ttauresa It probably took me 20-30 minutes to do all of the designs on this platter. I learned ceramics in college and currently teach a high school class as well. Thanks for watching!

Oh is it a gloss glaze? Thanks again
The black is an underglaze. Then I put gloss after it is fired once.
Very good
Thank you

Carol Clay-Ward I use Laguna B-mix, and yes it is Cone 6. Thanks!
Great plate. How long did it take you to do all the work on it. Also, where did you learn to do pottery?. Thanks
