I cannot remember what stupid shit Leonardo’s original VA did but it was enough to get him removed from the show and he had had a temporary replacement VA before the S2 Finale where Leo ended up getting severely injured. When the story starts back up in S3, they demonstrate Leo’s journey through his recovery and officially give him a new VA (Seth Green woo!). The writers chalked up the change in Leo’s voice to his injuries and it stayed that way for the rest of the series lmao. They like bring it up once canonically and just carry on, and I think they were so real for that

I had my opinions about zachary gordon being the new va. at first i was skeptical like everyone else, but in no way should ppl trash talk about him. whoever tighnari’s va is, whether it’s zachary or not, ANY va is better than that disgusting scumbag. i’m glad that zachary’s the new va, in fact, i think he was the best possible outcome
I've been saying this all over twitter. It's amazing how many people don't realize this and have been going on rants how their game experience is ruined. If this is their first time experiencing "the other Darrin" troupe then they are going to have a hard time coping with how often it happens.
I figured people would understand that, but then again this is the genshin fandom we're talking about. People went nuts when changes were made Barbara's and Paimon's voices. Ehile I do prefer the way they used to sound, you accustom yourself to it after awhile. Not slam a VA who did nothing except what Hoyoverse resquested them to... You know, like how a good and professional VA acts. Of course he doesn't sound like the old VA, would people rather have a pitch perfect recreation that gives underage girls Vietnam flashbacks?
So long as Tighnari's personality is preserved and people can enjoy playing him again, that's good enough for me.
@@iasomnium919 Well, but the voice IS trash and absolutely different from what we've come to expect of them. At least with Barbara they tried to keep it similar enough though I also think they've done a poor job. The lines are all just so flat and devoid of the character the other had.
There are people who will still always get triggered whenever they even just see Tighnari, yet they didn't remove him.
The new voice changes just make things worse for the people who liked his original characterization and vibe, and now have to deal with an older, nerdier and far more monotone versjon of Mika.

They probably had to do it quickly because the 3.6 flagship event had already been planned, and Tighnari was going to appear there. (3.5 Windblume was too near to the issue, so they had no time to fix that.)

You can't erase someone's personality like that. Sure the voice itself doesn't have to be the same BUT LINE DELIVERY SHOULD HAVE STAYED THE SAME!

I really like how he sounds much more caring and soft spoken but still kind of strict in a way now. He also sounds a lot more done with the academia like he doesn't even have the energy to sound sarcastic about them now which is pretty fun
I keep listening to the leaked voicelines because there was something off for me with the new voice. So far I am not a big fan (nothing against the VA himself tho) but I am hopeful that I will just get use to it
To me is even better! The previous one I feel like made everyone misunderstand Tighnari. Excessively sarcastic and angry, when the character is not like that at all. The new VA portrayed him waaaaay better
I must be easy to please cause I loved Zach's take on Tighnari. He gives Tighnari a more youthful sound while leaning more into a nasally delivery, which shifts Tighnari's energy to more of a child prodigy who became mature very quickly because of his achievements but still has those tendencies to groan and smile at Cyno's jokes or exasperatedly lecturing others on forest safety.

Remember Barbara's voice change? Yeah, that was a change that was eventually accepted by the fandom and I think this is a similar situation. I think this new voice really suits Tighnari and I'm excited for it. And to the people saying that he lost his sassy attitude, the leaked lines were of a serious scene where even the old VA didn't add sass. So we'll just have to wait to see the more famous lines.

Every va change takes a while to get used to, humans don’t like change. I haven’t heard the new voice, and it’s sure to have different vibes from the old one, and maybe even a whole new characterization, but whoever it is, I’m sure they’ll do their best

For those of you who don't know who it is, all I have to say is this: Not a HUGE fan of the new voice, but the new VA shouldn't have to get crap for not sounding like or bringing the same 'energy' that you-know-who gave the character. This person is clearly doing the best they can (Personally I don't mind the voice and think it's alright; I think it'll just take a bit of getting used to). In other words, I'm in full agreement with Cy Yu's perspective on the situation.
Agreed: no matter if you prefer the first voice (I too miss the initial sass), it's just vital - and exciting - that the change is finally happening! Victims, and those otherwise sensitive, can hopefully now experience the game in peace.

I don't doubt that the new VA had to rush through recording in time for the update.
Tone wise it's a fine replacement. All he needs is a little more time to settle into the role.

I'm actually incredibly excited for the change, I want it to sound different! I normally would keep my thoughts to myself and not say negative things about VAs in public forums, but since the last one is a bad person I'll just say it anyways: I always thought the old EN voice for Tighnari didn't fit the image I had for him, so that's why I think a new direction is exciting!
There's 100% a transition period, but I'm already LOVING Zach's portrayal and deliveries as Nari. I'm loving this change- IT'S SO MUCH BETTER!!

I assume they did it to not sound like ~that~ guy but this guy has nothing to do with Tighnari: he didnt make his design, he didn't write any voiceline he did no shit.
Those people who wrote the story and all those voicelines are the ones who made the character and people should know this and not make the character sound worse just because of messed up "advertiser"

Well... With a little bit of practice and more deep approach to the character (tighnari), I'm sure the new VA will be more capturing tighnari's character energy. The new VA also need to be more directed. Soon we will be used and love the new voice, we just need time. I see the potention in the new voice and I look forward for it....congratulation to the new VA😄
I hope the new VA works on adding more personality behind some of the lines. Because it sounds like he is reading fast on some and has no emotion behind them. I am very excited for 3.6!!

In my humble opinion, we need to get used to the voice, and the voice needs to get used to the character. 2 months is such a short time to work with (at least I believe so), the VA needs to get the hang of the character and then it will sound more natural

The problem here isn't the voice. In fact I like Zachary's voice!
But I feel like he isn't familiar enough with Tighnari's personality yet from what I got to hear. (He sounds less confident than what the character is actually like in my opinion for now. And maybe a bit too young)
I do wish him the best though and I am sure that he will sound better once the voice lines are officially released! I am excited to see what they all end up with and I really hope that even with this new voice I will still hear the sassiness and confidence that tighnari's character has in most of his lines (going off of the writing of the lines itself not the old voice)
This is why the ball is currently in the Director's court. How he guides the new VA will determine basically everything.
I saw some of his other projects and I can hear the potential. His star wars show he can do the pitch. (Just watched a few clips)
And him as Hayner in KH3 (I played this in full) I can see him with the attitude.
So he has potential.
I'm mixed. The old one was one of the reasons why I really loved Tighnari, and he's one of my mains, so I knew I was going to have a harder time to adjust. I understand that. And in a vacuum the new one is fine. There's parts I like more and parts I like less.
I don't really mind them making him calmer and losing the sass as much (even though I loved the sass). The real disappointment I have is that he was an exception to the stereotypical nerd. The way he was portrayed was being highly educated and his impatience came from being so intelligent and then dealing with people (Tighnari threatened to staple a paper to the forehead of a never learning patient before). That was the most relatable part of him to me. The new direction I'll get used to but it's more of a classic soft nerd (like extra soft) and I don't feel like he is as much as a leader of the forest rangers as he was. That's the main part I feel is a shame to lose.
When you go over the new VA lines officially, can you make a comment about the process of localization? I know this is like a "how dare you agree with that monster?!" thing, but he was the only one that spoke up about it at the 3.0 drama in a deleted interview. Because there are comments here and there about English Tighnari still being "tie"-nari instead of "tig"nari. Or like Candace vs Kandake. I'd really appreciate a comment defending the dub on this if you wouldn't mind.
Yeah. It can’t be helped. The owner of the old voice made sure of it. And we need to give the new voice some time to sink in.
Few snippets also don’t give a real idea on the full performance. Im glad some people seem really happy. For me the first impression was more disappointed because how young Nari sounds like now. It changed the character so much. Not someone commanding the forest rangers and scaring foolish people who mess around in his forest. He sounds much younger than Collei, all soft and cute like a puppy. It’s a different Tighnari. It will take a while to get used to.
But it’s an unfair position to any VA to come into. Not sure if anyone could have manage everyone’s expectations and hopes any better. We need to give him time.
@@neanahidden Oh yea, this is such a particular predicament, we should do our best to ease in the new VA. Even if I'm one who's able to separate art from artist, and thus not ashamed of saying what I liked of the previous talent that will forever (and rightfully) be wasted, the new VA does not deserve harassment from the fans that can't adjust as easily. And we get a full event to hear it in practice, bouncing off other characters, so that's good.
Hopefully we'll have the first recording to take care of the requirement of bringing him in, and down the line when there's time, they'll go back when he's more comfortable and have him re-record lines that sound too much like reading from a script.

The whole thing has been just sad in so many levels. All the hurt some people had to go through because of a selfish twisted person. Horrible. A person who also completely destroyed their own career and probably life too by their deplorable actions.
And the distant waves from all that destruction also effect us players. Definitely not as important but still.
Just sad and miserable overall.
I’m trying to psych myself to like the new voice more. It’s not new the VAs fault that the whole thing is such a mess. And like you said, it’s better to have opinions after we see all our Sumeru team together having conversations.
But it’s going to be hard. He feels like a completely new character, not Tighnari.
But it is what it is. Better choice from bad options like deleting Tighnari from all events and storylines from now on. We just need to get used to it. Some day the old version will fade from memory and comparison.

I agree, personally i prefer tighnari's previous voice. But i dont blame the new VA and the direction of his new voice. I despise Elliot for what he had done, but i gotta admit that he does a good job voicing Tighnari. I fell for tighnari because i could feel his personality from the voice.
Zach's Tighnari is not bad, i don't mind they choose a more soft and gentle tighnari with a hint of sass. But, there's lacking in consistency. There are some parts that fits better than before, but for the most part, the new Tighnari felt like a "Teen" not "Adult" for me. Like, some lines that's supposed to give out mature and caring adult, rather felt like caring-teenage-boy who's still in their adolescent. It's not bad, personally, i know that i need more time to adjust to enjoy the "new" Tighnari and Zach's also need more time to familiarize himself with Tighnari's character. I hope that Hoyoverse would update the more consistent voicelines soon!

I think it's so funny how I never watched Diary of a Wimpy kid but now I'm obsessed with Zachary 😂 The quiet, lowercase threatening sass he gives Tighnari is hilarious to me, I love it. I can't wait to actually hear him in my game later and in more events. Tighnari is one of my favorite new characters, and I loved the original performance and I already love the new one from what little we have out now

We just gotta give them some time. Hearing a new voice for a character is almost always pretty polarizing at first, since it’s different from what we’re used to. He’s new to the role and I think a lot of people have pretty high expectations. So just chill out, give him some time to settle in the role, and lower the bar a bit. That’s your local Yanfei advice 📚

Aw man I spent like 50 bucks on a really pretty Tighnari print signed by the original VA and now I'm conflicted because I want to throw it away but also the art is really good and that was a lot of money :(
The new voice is pretty good, but I kind of wish the voice direction would’ve taken Tighnari in a more Lindhardt from fe3h direction rather than making him sound younger and nerdier. I’m sure Zachary could’ve done it no problem, and it would’ve sounded nothing like he who shall not be named’s version. Still, I’m glad they changed it swiftly! When the update drops I’ll finally be able to use my double crowned Tighnari once more, I can’t wait to use him in abyss again!

This. Barbara’s an idol, but from the beginning of the game she wasn’t a “peppy go-getter” idol; she is always a “cheer you on and heal you” idol. The changed voice lines are actually closer to what they originally intended.

The new VA for Tighnari hit the sweet spot for me since I always play with Chinese VA, and honestly the former Tighnari was…… not so similar to the Chinese one. Not saying he was not good, but I always prefer CN VA far more. This? This new VA sure push me to use EN VA a bit more!
I really don't like his voice so much and i think it doesn't suit Tighnari. First, he sounds like a nerd and yes, he is a nerd, but people forget that he is also a head of forest watchers, he sometimes is very sarcastic, grumpy or sassy. He is young, but he is really mature because of his position. His new voice isn't just younger, it doesn't show his versatility. Second, i don't know why people think that his new voice is more energetic when it isn't. Compare his replics and you will hear. For example, his line "Hmm, smells like something good is inside!" is very different now. Previously, he sounded exited, now he just says this line without emotions. And this is the most important thing, because now va often sounds like he just reads his lines and doesn't add some acting and different intonations, he sounds featureless most of the time. Like sometimes Tighnari is annoyed, he instructs us, he preaches, he tells us an interesting life hack, and all these things must be reflected in his voice, but now they are not. So, no hate towards new va, i am just saying that he doesn't fit that much, some lines need to be reworked
I like old voice more for sure, good luck to the new VA to feel Elliot's shoes. Sad, he had to be replaced, his voice sounded really unique and rich with emotions. I hope english VA directors will do something about the fact new Tighnari voice sounds like he went through Mika-fication
Yeah...his old VA made Tighnari for me. His new VA just sounds like Elliot from Wish. I'm sure the new VA is talented and all, but not really a fan of his performance with Tighnari. They tried to find someone who sounded similar, but it lacks the feeling and emotion of the OG. Real shame.
I am looking forward to hearing Tighnari’s new voice. As long as the character is written the same I don’t mind who gets the role.

When I was 10 I had a cuticle stick stuck up my foot when I was running down the hall in my house. It was like about an inch and a half deep in my foot, I think. When I got to the er, that checked if it was broken and splintered, and when they found out it wasn't, they just yanked it out. I screamed lol
To be honest, when Tighnari was first released, I didnt like his voice at first, but I got used to it. It will take a while to sort of connect the new voice with the character, but it will become natural after some time.

The new voice is only not the one we're used to but if you think about this voice being tighnari's voice from the start, it's actually good! I like Zachary's voice better.

I absoutley love the new voice, I think people are confusing bad with different. Our senses don't always adjust well to change, but as human beings we can be aware thats all it is. Honestly I think based on how iv heard Tighnari in other languages, and the actual dialogue written, it fits better too, in my opinion. While nothing wrong with the sound of the voice of the original VA (the person is garbage obviously, and now the voice is terrible because of that) it felt out of place in a lot of ways to me.
I'm assuming that these leaks are possibly the other takes. Not the FINAL takes.
I'm also going wait for the official in-game voice lines before making a 100% judgement.
But the version we've heard so far. It's rough, yeah, but not bad. His pitch is a bit lower but it's not distractingly different. I can hear the potential.
It's close enough that he's a good replacement.
Just needs some direction to get the tone and acting right.
Personally I can't say I'm happy with the little snippets we've gotten of the new VA. They're fine but as many have said, missing the "sass".
I don't think that should be undervalued. The sass here is part of tighnaris character, the new VA leans more so into the nerdy field scientist without the sass.
Hopefully the people directing this can guide them into playing into the sass a bit more.

all I wanna say is that I love Tighnari's new voice and I can't wait to play him finally. I waited for so long now because you know...of that whole thing that was going on, but when we can finally hear the new voice in game, I can play him ^^ they did an amazing job finding a new fitting voice ^^

It’s clear that they are striving away from the og voice because of triggers, and even if you don’t like his voice, don’t go on saying that you wish HE was back just because he sounded better, ( I have seen people all over say they want him back) it’s fine if you acknowledge his voice as a better fit but don’t say you want him back, he was fired for a reason . More than anything I’m excited for the new voice (yes I’ve heard it) he hasn’t had proper time to settle in the role since they needed it asap but hopefully as time goes on he can improve his voice direction (Without it sounding like the old one at all) UNLESS that is what the voice acting team is going for.

. . Am I the only one who didn't think the initial voice fit that well? I'm a Tighnari main, and I guess I got used to it. But even with the sassy lines, Tighnari's design is so much softer than the initial VA. . Some reads for the lines were good, but the harsher exclamations just didn't sound like a match for me. Then I watched the Alhaitham teaser and had to watch it again because I didn't think the voice lines given for it were consistent for Nari and I honestly wasn't sure if they had gotten someone else for the teaser. (Which was before everything came out.) With the vocal inconsistencies I heard along with how the more gruff voice lines didn't fit for me, I got excited when I heard the leak. It'll take some getting used to, but I'm thinking I'm going to prefer the new lines. (Plus the new VA sings, and I'm always into that.) That's just me though. Please feel free to tell me I'm crazy.
No, you're not. I play with the CN voice and always thought EN version sounded unnecessarily cocky and aggressive even though his dialogue was supposed to come off gentler and friendlier. So, I'm happy that his new voice suit his personality a lot better now.

yes!! i've been playing tighnari the day he came and I love him to bits!! but when I heard his original voice during the sumeru archon quest I thought it didn't fit him too well. The voice in his teaser was well done but a lot of the times in game, I felt it very out of character, and this is just my opinion ^-^
@@WazzupNigga Tighnari has some sass in the original version (CN) and the JP/KR dubs but he's still come off rather polite about it tbh, I mean, this is the same forest genius who everyone was so popular since his enrollment in the Academiya that everyone rushed to be his friend (including Cyno). You would wonder why his lore story keeps emphasizing how helpful and friendly he is but somehow he sounded so condescending and aggressive in EN, and none of the NPC mentioned how "sassy" he is. Even the new Kaveh's line had him thinking of how he's one of the nicest people around...
9:30 thats also happened with half of my leg. that pain is seriously bad. for the first cleaning its not but. they do clean it for every 2 day. and you can't even get scared of it because you get shocked of the hotness of the burn and the pain. the burn actually feels hot. some people thinks that after burn there is only pain. but the hotness of the burn stays for like 2 weeks and you can't do anything about it except you put something that blows air at it.

i agree w/ you a lot, tighnari’s old voice was known to be really sassy and tighnari was seen as a sassy character. however, even though zachary did great voicing tighnari, like you said, some voicelines sound like mika but older. but it’s good that hoyo took action quite quickly and now for tighnari’s character details it won’t say the name of the idiot who ruined his career. still forever going to miss the super sassy fennec fox.
Honestly, being called out by CyYu is something that I needed. I thought I had been prepared and change scares me much more than I had been aware of.. listening to the voicelines again today after sleep, has helped me and the reasoning that I missed in my own emotions.. I appreciate it, thankyou for just being you.

from what I’ve heard (I litrally listened to all the voice lines(officially in the update) the voice dose get better, (the voice lines that would’ve been recorded later gotten deeper/more natural, versus the early lines witch are more higher)(and the leak really picked a bad line too) . So my guess is that due to the process of needing to quickly recording some stuff is quite inconsistent, but it isn’t bad or anything. But I will only see once we hear him next. I hope that the voice is deeper like in the later voice lines sounds like.

i know its going to take time to get used to, and im not thrilled about it. but its what needed to happen. i listened to the sample of Zachary, and i can only hope his other lines maintain some level of sass in the cadence. that's all i want. tighnari to till be somewhat sassy.

Honestly. When the thing happened, I had Tighnari on my team. (and my friend was always joking about his lines like 'lets nip that in the bud' being 'lets nip that in the butt') And since my friend annoyed me a bunch about it I couldn't hear it the same so I ended up switching to JP va. And then the thing happened and I never switched back. And then I just stopped having the storage to download the English VA so I just got stuck on JP haha.

I think the only problems I have with the voice is that he sounds like an older Mika. Mika’s actual voice does annoy me to an extent (personal opinion ofc) and as a Tighnari main, it’s gonna be hard to listen and Main him.. basically. And his third burst line isnt like “I hear EVERYTHING.” Yet, it’s more like “Iheareverything.” And, to me, it doesn’t have that nurturing sound to it, as tighnari’s personality is nurturing. That’s the only things. I do understand why they had to make it different and stuff. I just can’t seem to like it. I just hope it grows on me. ;-;

It's predictable that some people don't like the new voice because they get used to the old, but this matter is different, my spine just shiver when hearing a criminal voice for my favorite character, changing new voice actor really save my ears
