So for verse number 37, I don't understand the threathening of the queen to make her people become Muslim. Isn't faith by heart? So threathening people to accept a religion is not going to change their mind and heart towards islam in a positive way. I am a Muslim woman but this ayah, i cannot understand and couldnt find anyone explain it
Good question. I think the way we can understand it is that there is a difference between armies fighting and individuals convictions. The fighting is not to force people to convert, it's rather to subdue a force. It's not clear whether Suleiman saw in the such army as something that could stand between him and delivering the message. Still, as you said, it's inconceivable that a messenger of Allah will force anyone into a religion while we know it's against intuition and against nature
