Saw it with my two friends, had a great time. I imagine watching it alone is a boring experience, but it had a lot of great moments that had us giggling and turning to one another 😊

He got his arm ripped off once, which ended his career, but the important thing is how it happened. He fought a meth addict, for his life and he had to defend himself or he was gonna die. This methhead apparently had over thirty bones in his body broken, but with that managed to rip an arm clean off with torsion. Not a spaghetti noodle of an arm, my bosses arms even today have a ten inch diameter around, of pure muscle. He got his ankle clean broken, eye got ripped out and hung from his face, blood streaming freely from everywhere, laughing all the while in true madman fashion. Eventually, they got him cuffed and in the cruiser. Imagine a man you detained, cuffed and beaten and broken all over, with a broken ankle, kicking the door off of your car clean off with that foot. Cocaine doesn't scare me in that sense, but meth does. Give us a meth bear, and I'll actually shit my pants from fear.

I liked it a lot because It felt like a classic Syfy Original. I used to watch then on sick days with my dad. I hope to see more movies like this that are just fun horrors, not crazy over the top but just silly and bloody.

Personally loved it, I didn't get any hype for it, so I saw it blind. It was a great exploitation movie, great character actors, fun death scenes, and the comedy landed. The cartoonish 80's superpower cocain. Great character actors. It was a fun monster movie. It felt like I was watching a good old-fashioned monster movie. Like it's cocaine bear meets twin peaks characters. It's great. The tone of the movie being odd makes the weird story beats so excellent. It really did feel like a reference to a series of 80's plot points. Honestly, I felt the character actors made the movie excellent. I disagree with the desire for one focused narrative in the movie, I'll admit it's because I have personal preference for this kind of storytelling. I felt the emotional drama added to the camp because I felt that was the bit. I felt like it handled its objective right and owned that it's bringing up these shlokky narratives by just having the bear fart on everything with gore. I felt the 80's melodrama was there just for the juxtaposition of the bear popping in which I felt really popped. Big agree that a sequal would retroactively fuck this movie. It was an 8 for me 7 if I'm critical 9 if I was generous(I'm a fool for monster movies and Margot Martindale)

I feel like the bear and the drug dealers should have been racing to get the bags. The dealers know where the next bag is going to be, but the bear keeps beating them to it, so with each bag the beast gets higher and more violent. It's not one of those movies that changes your life or helps you to reach enlightenment. It's one of those movies that you just enjoy watching and then move on.
I think it would have been much more fun with the drug dealers doing like a home alone style hijinks trying to get the cocaine back from the bear, interspersed with the good guy park rangers doing a detective thing and random campers getting taken out by the bear.

But also a drunken modern Abraham Lincoln, some guy, and a German twink who turns out to be a mad scientist who is American all team up to kill it. Went and saw it today, I liked the film! It was original in the sense that its not a predictable superhero film, and you don't see many movies these days that know they're stupid and don't take themselves seriously. Would recommend a watch if you like gore, and comedy horror, I reckon the film will gain a small cult following
Better idea? Have the story about a group of people partying at a campground. They are too loud and one of the party goers hides cocaine from the police in the woods where the bear eats it. Then have the movie about the campground trying to survive the rampaging bear.
No cause the movie is based off real events and that's part of the selling point, the absurdity that some of the movie could have happened is putting some asses in seats.

Went into this movie expecting so little and was extremely impressed... would highly recommend
it was a good laugh for me, me and my friends reference the part where the kids tried to eat the cocaine often lol
Its sad that a movie described as “fine”, “passable”, and “decent”, makes me want to see it 😂
I think it would have been much more fun with the drug dealers doing like a home alone style hijinks trying to get the cocaine back from the bear, interspersed with the good guy park rangers doing a detective thing and random campers getting taken out by the bear.
A bear that does cocaine is one of the most random ideas in film history

Bro, this is the bottom of the barrel when it comes to random cinema. How does a movie about a great white living in someone’s house pipes who also has guns and has four eyes. But also a drunken modern Abraham Lincoln, some guy, and a German twink who turns out to be a mad scientist who is American all team up to kill it. And lots of people die but somehow Lincoln just can’t.

Thanks for the review. Violent Nights impressed me this year with just the violence we want, no extra relationships or politics. Too bad they had to bring in a bunch of relationships we don’t want with cocaine bear.
Most of the time, mother bears raise the children without a male bear because male bears tend to be incredibly violent towards the mom and children.
Felt like it was written by 9 people who couldn't communicate with each other. It has pacing issues but when it's crazy, it's great fun.
Edit: oooooooh paint a painting of the waterfall! I thought they were gonna paint the rocks around the waterfall....why did I think that??

Went and saw it today, I liked the film! It was original in the sense that its not a predictable superhero film, and you don't see many movies these days that know they're stupid and don't take themselves seriously.
Would recommend a watch if you like gore, and comedy horror, I reckon the film will gain a small cult following

Better idea? Have the story about a group of people partying at a campground. They are too loud and one of the party goers hides cocaine from the police in the woods where the bear eats it. Then have the movie about the campground trying to survive the rampaging bear.
No cause the movie is based off real events and that's part of the selling point, the absurdity that some of the movie could have happened is putting some asses in seats.

I went to the movie theater alone, without telling my my ex, because he told me it's a stupid movie that he never wants to see. And ironically, ran into him at the movie theater with my friend. I thought it was a pretty good movie though. Especially because I was on Tumblr and knew of the event awhile ago lol

The movie knew what it was but also didn't use that as an excuse to be lazy and shifty. I thought it was pretty funny and the characters were actually likable and good.
The premise of this movie makes me think of the "Baby bullet" WKUK skit when he mentions kids throwing armor on a bear
