We went through a couple of those retractable leashes. They rub against the handle feed and wear out. Our trainer recommended only using the 6-foot leashes with the harness type collars to allow for better control while reducing the risk of injury to the trachea. Probably the best dog advice we ever got.
I would put a waterproof blanket on top of your cot for when she's laying on it. Get a can of pumpkin, some plain yogurt, and cook some plain rice up for her. Mix a few tablespoons of rice with one teaspoon of pumpkin and one or two teaspoons of the plain yogurt. That's the mixture that I use to help bind my dog. Feed that to her twice a day until her poop starts to bind. She might have gotten into something while she was out running around and you just didn't notice it. I would recommend Nature's Miracle Urine Destroyer for urine smells. Bubba's Enzyme Cleaner is good for other smells. You can get it off of Amazon, but it is a bit expensive. Good luck.
When you go playing in the mud you have to make sure you spray the undercarriage down real good. It makes way easier to work on your jeep later on when there isn't any big chunks of dirt falling in your face. Also the mud loves to ruin bearings, bushings, and u-joints. Safe travels!!! Right now we're getting our Jeep outfitted with the gear it needs to make the trip. With any luck we might cross each others path but if not we'd like you to know that you've been a great inspiration to us as well as a lot of other Jeepers around the planet or at least up here in Canada anyway lol. Well the best of luck to you, Annie & Jade Henning & Liz PS. Would be nice to get a yearly event going to get a bunch of jeepers for a meet at an old ghost town in some warm place in the winter for a weekend of BBQ's & brews. Maybe a good place to escape the fallout?
Hey Jake, great vlog as always. Have an idea for Annie. Many dogs are crate or kennel trained. You could keep her in a kennel when your in the gym or running errands. They get used to it with some training and reinforcement and if it saves you 10 hours a week cleaning it's worth it.

I suggest you use the crating method to train Annie or it will not stop. Unless you steam clean and industrial deodorize your interior, her doggie nose will always smell her "mishaps" and trigger her to urinate and defecate whenever she is alone in the car feeling anxious. Since you are utilizing doggie daycare and only crating for 1 to 2 hours at a time she will be fine. In addition, dogs that have separation anxiety do well with crating when you put their bed and toys in with them because the enclosed space gives them a sense of security. And you should start sooner or later or you can expect more mishaps. Good Luck.

Hey Jake. you mentioned in another video about how cold it is getting in the jeep while you are sleeping. The attached link discusses an old technique of storing heat into a soapstone. I have not tried this, but maybe you could lay the soapstone on the block of Jade and heat them up during the day. Once you camp, you bring them into the cab, wrap a rag around the soapstone and let the heat slowly steep out.. My dog has some sort of separation anxiety / behavior issues when I leave. He does not like it, and will pee in the house.
