Born and grew up in Nashville...still here. Great video, but let it be known that most people don't walk around in cowboy boots (except tourists). And, while country music is big in Nashville, we have lots of other musical genres that are widely popular and played by top-notch musicians. Nashville has a thriving jazz community, a symphony orchestra, and more.

Opryland Hotels indoor atrium and many other ementies are open to the public so you can enjoy without needing to stay there.
Pro tip: Park at the Oprymills Mall on the cinema hall side and as close to the hotel as possible for free parking and with just a short walk.

I moved here some 38 years ago from the Chicago area. I've seen this place explode with growth, but it still remains the smallest big town you'll ever find. Friendly people, great music, good food, lots of greenspace and relatively safe (for a big town). I've been to most of the venues mentioned in here and the review is spot-on.

I've lived here all my life (68 years). This video was well done although I was very surprised that Printer's Alley wasn't mentioned. If you are a true country music lover then it's the place to go because of all the music videos that are made there. Example: Toby Keith recorded "I love this bar" at Lonnie's in Printers Alley. Personally I like Ms. Kelly's bar. It's really underground, literally!

You forgot about sweats restaurant 28th and Charlotte Pike on 28th.. and Wendell Smith on Charlotte Pike. This is where local people eat. Talk to the local people that was born here.. I was born here in 64 my father was born here in 1933 my grandfather was born here in 1899 and his father was born here I do not no set date. . talk to the local people that was born and raised in Nashville and surrounding counties.. but good video and good places to go . . those are good places to visit.. good places to swim Percy Priest Lake not far from Nashville. On the west side is Kingston Springs Foggy Bottom canoe rentals tip a canoe on the Harpeth River in Cheatham County.. and if you like sports Tennessee Titans football team the Predators hockey team and the new Nashville soccer team. Union Hill drag strip. The fairgrounds the old Speedway track. And wants a year the Steeplechase horse track. Old Hickory Lake Cheatham Lake the state is full of lakes and rivers. Don't forget about Memphis Knoxville Chattanooga college football University of Tennessee Vanderbilt Middle Tennessee and more. Dollywood theme park good place to go..but we used to have Opryland theme park the idiots close it. And Fair Park was closed.. stupid people clothes those parts.. don't forget about the Great Smoky Mountains. .too much to list all kinds of stuff to do in Tennessee. PS. Bring Amtrak back to Nashville please. And get rid of the Riff Raff at the Greyhound bus station please. I used to love to ride Greyhound bus. But I don't want to offend no one you got all of the drug addicts and alcoholics and troublemakers hanging out at the Greyhound bus station that shit needs to stop... from Mark

Having lived in Nashville for the majority of the last 32 years, it has definitely changed, and lost some of its charm of yesteryear, but it's still one of the best places on the planet to live and visit. Having at some point, darkened the majority of these places, I'd say he's spot on with most. If you love the spicy-fried, and find yourself in Franklin, check out Big Shakes. If you like it REALLY hot, head north to check out Slow Burn... take tissues... it's an amazing flavor, but also will melt your sinuses.

While you covered the metropolitan area you left out some pertinent info so as a 30+ year citizen let me help you out. The metro population is over 2.5 million and the largest university in the state, Middle Tennessee State University is 45 minutes away. We don't call "Lower Broad" the Honky Tonk Highway but that's a good name for it.

I live in the east passed the airport close to Mt.Juliet but work by Vanderbilt so if you know the city,, you can see I have to pass through the city.
2 minutes from the house on interstate 40 I can already see the city so yeah, Nashville is very small.
