Thanks for the explaining the difference. I have sued the summarised function in the same way you used but my grand total is not correct ? Any guidance would really help
Nice info. But I am stuck in one of my development where I am using summarizecolumn in a measure but the total value is incorrect .. Can you help me with that
Hey Senthil, I n getting this error message when I try any of the functions "The expression refers to multiple columns. Multiple columns cannot be converted to a scalar value.". I m using the same database. Any suggestion please?
Great content, the only thing I would recommend changing would be disabling those mouse click sounds and bell ring, they're quite annoying. Thumbs up anyway.
Why the hell should I use addcolumns & use calculate instead of summarize ?? What differentiation does this addcolumns brings to the table. Of the 3 summarizecoulmns outperforms then y we need to learn or use summarize, addcolumns ??? Marketing gimmicks to say pbi has 500+ builtins 😂😂
This video is brilliant! Could you please make more tutorials on DAX and analyzing performance implications using DAX Studio?

So, is add columns and summarize pattern better than summarize in performance ?
Thanks for your comment and you're correct...
One query: Can the columns come from different tables? Could you clarify, please?
Absolutely, as far as those tables are related(connected), you can use columns from the model..
