VPD IS VERY IMPORTANT. Not only does a proper range in VPD make your plants grow quicker, but it also helps manage pests such as PM. Its a common myth that low humidity will help with mold and mildew, but low humidity in combination with high temperature actually spores powdery mildew and will make it spread even quicker. This also goes for low temps and high humidity. The range I aim for is 1.2 in veg. and 1.0 in flower. If you have your room at 80F adding c02 and have a humidity of 60 - 63% your plants will EXPLODE. Now I know what you're thinking.. 60% is high humidity. But please if you take anything away from this comment, remember higher temp, needs higher humidity.
That's exactly what my grow space is right now during summer months 80F and according to the chart if I keep my humidity between 60-65 I should be good. Hopefully this work 👍🏽
Yes that new controller have kpa built in I love it. I hooked up the inkbird controller also for my humidifier and dehumidifier just set it and forget it. Summer months my space get as high as 80-82 and I'm in late flower but Long as I dial in the humidity according to the chart everything is o.k
Due to space my tent is in same room i spend 95% of my time. That being said, after months of trying to get my vpd right i quit trying. Then i had the idea to just open the tent during lights on period,sure enough that worked,my vpd has been perfect for the last month and the growth has been crazy fast. Just a little hack that might work for someone, feel better fam.
I first learned about VPD, from listening to Ivan of Jungle Boys. He stressed that it was the upmost importance, to follow the VPD chart. It really does help and makes a noticeable difference IMO, and another great video 420..

Be nice to see a video of how to raise and lower VPD. ive watched so many of youtubers telling what and how to work out what VPD is , BUT none tell you how to raise or lower it !
A.C infinity has a controller with kpa built in. Get a inkbird humidity controller also. im in flower it say the correct kpa is between 1.2-1.5. Now my space is 79-81F so I adjust my humidifier and dehumidifier to 60-65 ( according to the VPD CHART )from the inkbird controller to turn on if it goes higher or lower and set my A.C infinity fan to 82F and 65 humidity so if it goes above that the fan kicks on. I HOPE THIS HELPS A LITTLE
You raise or lower VPD by temp and humidity. When you look at the chart it tells you kpa for every stage of your grow. u just have to maintain that environment. Let's say ur in veg and ur grow room temp is 75F according to the chart u wanna get ur humidity to around 70-75 to get the kpa 0.89 -0.75. If ur temp drops/raises set ur humidifier/dehumidifier to reach that kpa for that stage in grow ur at. Hope this helps 🙏🏿

Speedy recovery scene !! My first time doing vpd and I was sketched at first cuz of the mold possibility’s. Good airflow helps. Vpd is dialed and I haven’t seen such good growth in my life lol.
I assume you mean to use the temperature gun to point it at the plant leaf to measure the temp directly on the leaf vice the room temp to calculate VPD. Some people might not know that and that point wasn’t mentioned. I use a monitor called pulse and I’m very happy with it been with them from the beginning and it gives VPD temperature humidity tells you if the lights on or off and they’ve even got a better version of it out now
During my veg period I try to maintain a temperature of around 75°-77° and an RH of 50%-60%... during flower I lower my RH to around 35%-45% and keep my temperature the same
Good ventilation is big time important for indoor grow. Currently running a small tent with a 4 in exhaust. I leave the filter off during veg and monitor RH with a Govee WiFi temp/hygrometer. I will cycle my fan on and off periodically if my RH creeps up too high. 4in is ok during colder months but I found to be inadequate during the summer to pull out excess heat.
Yeah I'm not going to lie having the tent sealed during vegitative is WICKED important can't stress that enough. And during flower if you can't keep your humidity below 70 I'd recommend opening all the vents and even cracking the door to the tent but a good ol ac infinity takes care of that......
Leaving tent open during flower should only be done during the 12 on light cycle unless your going for hermies. Using the passive vents during veg is no big deal but if I’m wrong someone feel free to weigh in.

Just watched your video, obviously I’m a noob. My ac infinity tent is having in odd issue I can’t find anywhere else on the net. It’s winter so yeah that’s an issue, my tent is running somewhere in the 70’s but my humidity is very low. I added a humidifier and that brought my tent up to about 50-53% on average but my vpd is 1.6-1.9. Things I have read online are contradictory so I’m trying to figure out how to bring the vpd down, if I do it on my own my humidity drops to upper 30’s. So yeah my tent has low humidity and high vpd to sum it up

As a 30+ year smoker of bud. I recently found that a long stem pipe is excellent at cooling the smoke without losing anything in water from a water pipe. I still feel water pipes are a bit easier on the lungs though. But, I now love my gentlemans pipe. Good luck.

VPD is super easy if you just look at the chart. The whole thing instantly made sense when I saw it. Also AC Infinity fans make VPD pretty easy.

the way i understand it is vpd should be taken from the leaf surface temp not the air temp, can anyone clarify whats correct please
