      One theory is the glass is picking up the ptfe material off of the pad... I just got mine and agree totally with your assessment. In my case.. I bought a new mousepad that I will only utilize with the glass skates and I put it away when not in use so that dust is minimal... I'm also in a very dry climate around 15% humidity most days... This may also affect the glass skates.

    I found that on my starlight, my mousepads felt less textured but still not as smooth as described in the video. So I think the smoothness has more to do with the size/shape of the superglides. In my Hien and Otsu, I could definitely feel the texture of the Hien still and just barely on the Otsu. And on both they still feel decently controlled, at least after a week and a half. When I first got them, they were definitely too fast.

    My initial set of Superglides on my Xlite Wireless slowed down to nearly stuck in place and initial friction felt SO HARD to move to the point where I would need to lift the mouse to move. Going from that floating smooth feeling to feeling like my mouse was stuck to my pad ( LGG Venus) was absolutely awful especially given it was roughly 2 months of use.
    Pulsar did send me a new set and so far it's been pretty consistent but I am not quite at the same time of use as my original pair so only time will tell.

    Had a set of superglides on my gpx for about 2 months now, with tiger ice skates on a different gpx at the same time. In the beginning while playing tac fps I would always swap back to the tiger ice skates very quickly, and stick to them for the rest of the session. This is because frankly the superglides were just uncontrollable, and it looked like I had doubled my sens in game with the amount of shaking I had. After about a month they seemed to slow down a fair bit, and I'm sure for some people that is a bummer, but for me it made them actually usable in tac fps just like you mentioned yourself. In this state I can use the skates with slower pads for tac fps, and still track surprisingly well even with slower pads on track-heavy games. The difference between the tiger ice and superglides are still night and day (tiger ice faster dynamic friction, superglass faster static friction), but I might actually prefer the superglides now as a balanced option for all types of games. I will admit I might still prefer the "locked in" feeling of ptfe some times in tac fps games still though.
    I agree with your points through every stage of the video, and think you explained the experience in a way that makes sense with the before and after break in period. Very informative video and a thumbs up from me. :p

    running these skates on my xlite wireless and on a brand new gsr se pad. it took about 3/4 days for them to slow down, i feel a lot more smooth and in control of my tracking than the first day of using them. compared to the stock ptfe skates on my gpx sl with an infinity odin v2 pad(hien clone) i most definitely prefer this new set up. speedy, but more in control. not to mention this combo is just ridiculously smooth, feels like butter.
    of course i'm waiting for them to break in just a bit more, but i can tell once they're fully broken in, it's a whole level of control one can think of. but that's just me, different people may have different experiences. anyone reading this comment, give them a try but i definitely recommend using a control pad with these skates, otherwise your aim is just gonna be everywhere.

  • @glynkatkin
    @glynkatkin 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    They don't wear down any further than the initial break-in period, from what I can tell, I've been using the Pulsar Xlite Superglide for quite a few months now on an Artisan Hien Mid XL, and had the exact same initial experience with them, it was uncontrollable, and even trying to double click stuff on the desktop was super annoying...but the moment they wore in, they slowed down just enough, to allow more control, whilst still having the low initial friction and consistent glide/tracking feel...I still feel like flicking shots while sniping in games is harder than say, with my other mice that have PTFE feet whilst using my Skypad 2.0 XL, but I have slowly but surely been getting used to it...I think using Lexip ceramic feet on one of my mice on my skypad for about year, and then switching back to PTFE feet and then to this glass feet, allowed me to get used to them faster than most (it was quite painful getting accustomed to lexips on glass, not only is it loud..lol..but there is no stopping friction, so all the control was developed via muscle memory...which in turn ended up improving my aiming overall when I switched back to a slower mouse/feet/surface combo with more control).

    I had the exact same experience as you mentioned in the end of your video - but it only took me 4 weeks to get there on my GPX. I was actually really happy with them at that point - super consistent and controlled, but low initial friction! Unfortunately, a few weeks later - they became even slower and started to feel "muddy", like I was actively fighting the mouse. And it was inconsistent, sometimes it would feel like there was more drag on my flicks, and other times it wouldn't drag as much. This ended up happening over time on 2 separate Superglides!
    To sum up, they have a sweet spot where they feel good, but they don't last long enough in this "perfect" state. I have decided to stop using them for now, as Pulsar has not commented about this issue and wouldn't accept exchanges/returns, even after just 2-3 weeks of purchasing them - basically telling me "that's too bad for you".

(Pulsar X2 Mini, Viper V2 Pro, Deathadder V3 Pro, Logitech Superlight Pro X, and the Logitech G303 Shroud edition) All of them have been pretty much going through the same life cycle. Very fast with some control day 1-30. Then after 1-3 months they all slowed down, but not really slow, just a lot more control. I feel even after a year of using the super glides on some of the mice that they're still have that glass no friction glide, but a surprising control once broken in. At 3:47 if the pressure of your mouse increases friction and makes the mouse harder to move. Isn't that inconsistency similar to mouse acceleration? One increases mouse speed, the other decreases mouse speed.
    So if you wanna go theoretical,
    PTFE feets makes your aim inconsistent, since it adds an input factor to your mouse movement, which is affected by "Pressure".
    Mouse acceleration adds an input factor to your mouse movement, which is affected by "Speed".
    So, can't you argue and say removing a factor, makes your aim more consistent?

    • @hausgaming
      @hausgaming  ปีที่แล้ว

      Standard Windows mouse accel is very hard to control, the curve is unpredictable and takes a lot of time to master. However, with things like RawAccel you can actually get fairly easily adapted to mouse accel and master it.
      This and similar theories do not really apply to humans very well, friction and pressure related friction can give us comfort and can make it easier for us to control motion on a bad day for example.
      Besides, it's fairly easy for you to just control the amount of force you want to apply towards the mousepad with your mouse.

I used Windex to clean them once and they got most of the glide back. I think oils from your skin get into the pad and slowly build on the feet. I realized though that the texture of the pad helped me with my muscle memory and sense of control every bit as much as the glide, and without that texture, I felt like I was missing a part of aiming that I love the feeling of.

I do only use them for select games, but on my Shroud G303 they're not consistent at all. I'm finding a lot of mild drift when holding that mouse w/ the skates on. I'm assuming it's the shape and the pure smoothness of the skates in combination with my grip and arm steadiness, so all things I can realistically accommodate. I've had mine for a little over a year and it just got slower and slower with time, to the point where the skates would 'stick' to my pad. I thought it was just my pad that got dirty/greasy but I had the exact same sticky feel on a brand new Artisan Raiden

    Great review! I should've watched this BEFORE I got it haha
    Btw, thought it'd comment on your aim_botz: When spraying, there's no use to spray transfer more than 3 bots due to the realistic scenarios in an actual match!
    Thanks a lot for your review, honest and credible!

    I think the fact that they wear down and slow down kinda defeats the purpose of having expensive glass skates called “superglide” that was hyped/advertised to be fast and durable :/

    • @MinehowTech
      @MinehowTech ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ive had mine for a bit over a year now, and I'd actually argue that it's more of a break-in period then them wearing out. I feel that with a control pad (i got a artisan zero) they really do become the ultimate control setup while still being fairly fast. It's no pure speed setup, but it certainly does rival some pads like the Hien. The speed and control is unlike anything else. No mousepad/PTFE or whatever material can replicate it so consistently, especially once you break them in. It took me about a month to break mine in and since then they haven't changed.

    Personally I've find myself liking the feel of Superglides more, even if out of the box the feet move and slide causing my cursor to be off target, and overtime they may become muddy.
    I can't explain it but there's just the surprising amount of better consistency while moving the mouse, and to me tracking felt much better because I don't need to force my mouse to move as much, I can do very delicate tracking without issue.
