I love the symbolism of the two Zangetsus. The Quincy Zangetsu is symbolic of his mother, and how she died to save him. Even in death his mother protects him, and seeks to nurture him -- an eternal reminder of the love she had for her son. The true Zangetsu is hostile and speaks harshly to Ichigo, but there's always a hidden lesson or meaningful truth mixed in with this hostility. Zangetsu is symbolic of Ichigo's father, a man who constantly harassed his son with ambushes and spoke harsh truths because he was preparing his son for the hostility of the world. Both Zangetsus are symbolism of the love Ichigo's parents felt for him, and how they wanted nothing more than for their son to survive and prosper in this world.
As much as I agree that there are similarities between Zangetsu and his father, the demon that lives in him cares nothing for anyone (except Ichigo because his life appears to depend on it). It is apart of Ichigo but his father tied himself to his mother to protect her and fought against it. That is love. Something the hollow knows nothing about and even hurt Uryu in a blind rage.
I think Zangetsu's tear drop at the moment of his departure was a piece of Phosphoplasm. Therefore I think the Zangetsu who spoke these words of affection was actually a living spirit living in Ichigo's inner world, or rather I think it was Masaki. Maybe Kubo wants people to come to this realization by Zangetsu words and actions.

I mean. ichigo seems to be one of the few protagonist where having the entire worlds problems on your shoulders actually bothers him, he never really shows it till he loses his strength but he's just a kid afterall and it shows. its why i love this series so much.

It’s a great speech but it shows how little we actually know. He said he would lend him any power. A zanpakto is the manifestation and extension of the wielder without the wielder they wouldn’t exist. In Every encounter he still never once said he was zangetsu.

After Yamamoto uses his Zanka no Tachi, it rains and that what happened 1000 years ago.

@@JaggedBird but White Ichigo does care for ichigo, I just listened to his instinct speech and all he wants is for Ichigo to be strong or he'll have to take over so he doesn't die. In White Ichigo's words. Ichigo is the King and White Ichigo is the horse, but should Ichigo lose his sense of fighting or become weaker, White Ichigo will become King.
People don't realise what he actually meant by whole rain thing is when life gets hard you'll attract all kinds of sadness because you understand the pain at that time so you'll be more hurt be understanding others pain too plus he was talking about how one isolates oneself or world doesn't care about an individual in times of hardship and one suffers all alone that's what he truly meant loneliness ; he said he'll be with ichigo whenever it rains or fights he actually doesn't want ichigo to feel alone in times of fight that's what he meant and by any means loneliness is greatest sadness one can feel that said when any individuals relative dies he finds an empty hole that's reality

I just realized the brilliance that Ep 7 did when not only playing the TYBW Ver of nothing can be explained, but also the significance of not only the rain, but Ywach’s whole dialogue with Ichigo mirroring that of Zangetsu.

I like how „zangetsu“ always says, how he hates the rain. But it makes absolute sense why and is a foreshadowing to the past of ichigos mom and dad, on how they met!
I mean the whole volume, where the backstory was featured was called „Everything but the rain“

That's not how it works, technically, he is inside everyone with Quincy bloodlines, he isn't him, its just part of the spirit and power in the blood, ichigo is the first quincy that's a soul reaper, therefore he can take the old mans power as his soul reaper power. Which is also he can rebuild his new blade completely different, becuz his using his true own soul reaper power, instead of quincy reaper

It interesting that Young Ywatch/old man Zangestu talks about giving Ichigo any power he needs and that he will never fight alone but come TYBW we know that A) he's restricting Ichigo's true power and B) that Ichigo needed to learn that he is fighting alone because OMZ and WZ are no more that just parts of him. I find so interesting that he tells him this here as its what he needs in the moment but not the lesson and mindset he needs in the long run

And this I believe is where the old man changed Brown trying to suppress ichigo's powers it will allow and down to bear fruit

he wanted to tell ichigo his real name at first but ichibei blurted out his words when he said his name because he feared if ichigo knew omz wasnt his true sword and he found the real zangetsu(which he eventually did) he would become a threat

Doesn't ichigos kid already have it? His son found that pocket of Ywachs reiatsu and when he shoved his arm inside it disappeared like he absorbed it. Even the captains sensed that the power had vanished. Either he absorbed it, nullified it, or sent it to hell since he can open hell gates.

Wonder if the rain references the day Ichigo lost his mother, or if it's connected to the day Ichigo's parents met.
It's a reference to any time Ichigo felt "powerless." It rained when Ichigo's mother died. It rained when his dad and mom met. It rained when Ginjo took his powers. It rained when Ichigo fought Grand Fisher. I think it rained when Byakuya beat Ichigo and took Rukia.
I think Kubo used this allegory to really flesh out the feeling one gets when that morose feeling takes hold and you feel powerless. I mean, Ichigo is probably one of the strongest people in Bleach, but that self-doubt and ultimately fear are what withhold him from saving what he wants.

They're the same being. It's just the spirit of yhwach inside of him and every other Quincy due to having his bloodline.

it make sense when ywach said "I shall lend you ANY strength" he didnt said MY but ANY which means he is responsible for letting hollow ichigo take over ichigo body just to save his life, ywach also saved ichigo life lending him his quincy power as you saw in the manga and of course his soul reaper strength
That isn't Ywach or however you spell his name though... Isn't Old Man Zangestu a manifestation of Ichigo's quincy powers
@@DrageLee yes but it does take the form of a young Ywach. I've seen people use the two names sort of interchangeably.
He didn’t let The Hollow inside Ichigo out on purpose. He was actively trying to suppress it but the hollow always forces itself out whenever Ichigo is in serious danger
