Love our Gosport history, I lived in Cooperage Green about 9 years ago. Loved to explore the area. I remember as a kid before the mellenium Bridge was built, there was the old wooden bridge and there was also old abandoned house's, now flats. Brilliant video and let's keep the history going and educate the next generation on our fabulous history.

Thanks for your comment. Nice to hear from you. If you have any photos of RCY from the past, we'd love to see them. Contact for the Residents Association: www.rcmra.co.uk/contact-information.

Strange to see the place so busy, sad to say that it is dead now

Hi Ben. RCY is far from dead - over 30 businesses, (inc salons) operating from the old workshop units in Cooperage Green (also a thriving cafe in the Pump House) & North Meadow (inc 3 artist studios and galleries); cafes and restaurants opened on the Waterfront; over 500 dwellings, office spaces beginning to fill up. It's been a long time coming but the place is really coming alive now. More to come as the remaining empty waterfront units get occupied. If you haven't been recently, come and visit . www.rcyard.org.uk
