This is good, i mean really damn good. He once stated that he would love to make a soundtrack for a movie or something, i hope he gets his chance. More people will be able to hear his beautiful music and loomis will get more attention, and by god he does deserve it
I've recently stopped living under a rock and discovered this awesome rock legend from some new friends. Takes me back to my headbanging days before marriage, kids, wife, a job....yatta, yatta....lol
Playing like that takes a lot of discipline... especially to play for that long at those speeds. The fact that he maintains clarity and u can actually hear space in between his notes is amazing.
there are no words to define this masterpiece of utter sonic destruction....loomis is the best metal guitar player of this day and age...period......HAILS!
I teach guitar lessons and this is one of the songs I have my new students practice. It teaches you the basic fundamentals of this wonderful instrument and prepares you for more complex songs.
@@teeple1877 Obviously that was a joke 😂 On a side note Loomis is the biggest piece of shit from what I heard. Pretentious. The opposite of humble. Heard this 2 separate times from 2 different people who met him.
@@gimmedaalbatross Weird. I met him at one of his shows with Conquering Dystopia. Dude was super chill and very friendly. Biggest piece of shit might be a stretch for someone who's dismissive anyways.
It was actually Jeff Loomis that stole fire from the gods! Prometheus was just a stage name that he was using during antiquity so no one would disturb him at his home and interrupt his lute practice!
I can not understand how there are people that refuses to recognize the talents of Jeff ... does this video with his solo work, and all his work with the nevermore not mean anything?
@13guitard00d actually 'the clean intro' is played on a piano/keyboard! There's another clip here on TH-cam where he explains how the intro was written on keys and transferred to guitar! So actually only the distorted part is guitar! :)
@abrookes1985 Did I say it was a genre? I thought it was pretty clear that I was talking about the style of the guitarists. Maybe next time I'll have to be much more specific in what I say.
Thanks for the video girl! I was amazed when I heard this song, I was wondering if he could actually play it live, or if it was some kind of studio magic ;) now we have the proof haha and by the way his playing is always spot on... great technique
Jeff Lumis is by far the best guitarist I have ever heard

I'm saving my own life, by never seeing him live. That would result in my head exploding from extreme shred exposure. Holy shit, Jeff's the shit!

OUTSTANDING
he makes it look easier of what it is
he is fucking BRILLIANT
Awesome! Loomis is the shizzle!!! 10/10!
One of the very few virtuosos left. He's the closest thing we have to Jason Becker nowadays, I would venture to say. Plus, he's got epic hair.

What? You teach this to new students?

I think that's a perfectly legitimate amount of time for a video as awesome as this one
sick
@evolooshion that last sentence was probably the best comment ever on a video, Rock ON!!!
i'm jealous because you had the opportunity to sit next to The Master :D.thanks for the video

Damnit, now i have to buy his solo album...
@evolooshion You said it!

298 like....6 dislike.... thats when you know. Jeff Loomis KILLIN THE GAME!
he plays this well cause that's all he ever does and has ever done since he started doing this
11 people's brains melted causing them to collapse on the mouse while it was hovering over the dislike button
Amazing, you can really hear the influence of Cacophony and Jason Becker.
this dude sweeps like a fucking champ >:D
someone attempted to play this entire song and epically failed which led to the belief of the ending of the world
I don't know if anyone has tried to learn this song, but let me tell you.
IT
IS
FUCKING
INSANE
He is not a human :D
I turned the screen upside down to like it again!!! \m/
two words: jeff loomis.
Love the intro. Sounds like a Castlevania boss fight.
Man imagine the two of them jamming had poor Jason not contracted ALS... That would be effin surreal!
@abrookes1985 Did I say it was a genre? I thought it was pretty clear that I was talking about the style of the guitarists. Maybe next time I'll have to be much more specific in what I say.
8 people disliked this out of pure jealousy
thats true i never noticed that
I wish I was this good. My guitar instrumentals are nothing compared to this God! ALL HAIL THEE!
@Theguitarskater1 no, its a roland keyboard, he says thats what it is in one of his demos
The occasional mistake he makes actually refreshes me so that I don't feel like a worthless piece of amoeba or something.
Jeff Loomis = Blonde Gorilla Shred Master. This is real METAL!
Damn you brother haha 👊👍!!
Thanks for the video girl! I was amazed when I heard this song, I was wondering if he could actually play it live, or if it was some kind of studio magic ;) now we have the proof haha and by the way his playing is always spot on... great technique
