I know, I love it! I bought it on a whim from the supplier, they only had a limited quantity and couldnt repeat it. I didnt expect to love it so much or I would have bought more! Now, whenever my tub is empty, I'll have to try to re-create it myself if I want to keep using it.
Thank you! Unfortunately, its not really available online right now. Your best option is to call Cozy Yarn Shop in Eugene, OR and ask if they can help you and ship it. They can probably send you photos or facetime with you. My dye company name is Willamette Valley Wool Company. The shop phone number is 541-485-9204. Their website is www.cozy-yarn.com/
Kool! Lol, Kool-Aid does work as a dye on protein fibers. Lots of people start with that, and also food coloring, or use it when dyeing with children. It works pretty well, but generally is not as light-fast and wash-fast as the professional acid dyes. But, a lot of things people make with yarn dont need to be washed very often anyway. :)
You mentioned possibly wanting to gather some of the natural fibers during your anniversary out of town excursion. Did you end up finding anything to use?
Sort of, but I decided not to collect any. In the end, we were staying on private land, and a lot of the places we were hiking and such were BLM land. It didn't feel right to just take what I wanted without permissions, and I also have not yet learned what is considered safe amounts to gather to preserve the environments and not deplete or take away anything that might be food or nesting material for animals.
See if Crystal from Bag o Day Crochet might promote you if you send her some free or discounted yarns. She supports small businesses all the time and she LOVES hand dyed yarns.
That green!
