    Yesterday I followed steps 1 and 2 for my FSX Drzewiecki New York City. It seems to add all the buildings and work in XP11 fine with no issues having to correct.

      Yes, DD NYC converts pretty well (although pretty FPS intensive). The only thing missing are the lights on top of the buildings (which I also have a tutorial for ;-) )! Thanks for watching :-D

    Does this work for XP11 as well?

    Hello,
    I currently have a couple of problems with a few sceneries. Firstly when I look at any of the placed terminal buildings at the airport it has weird artifacts/shadows which are different and separated into 4 squares on my screen. Secondly it seems on quite a few the concrete/asphalt textures they have under the airport are clipping through the runway/taxiways in jagged/odd shapes and I cannot seem to find the culprit. Lastly with one of my airports the taxiways/runways act as if they are a rocky ground and my aircraft rocks as I taxi. Would you have any idea what the problems are for these airports? Thank you for these tutorials and your time. :)
    Have a nice day,
    TooSpooky

    I did what you did and applied exclusion around the airport. But the Ortho4XP photoscenery is still covering the airport. I couldn't see a single object. Please help!

    I love your videos, Thomas. Not sure if you are aware, but those missing objects are located in your FSX\Scenery\Global\Texture folder. Just copy them over to XPlane\Custom Scenery\StMaarten\objects folder after the conversion to eliminate having to go through with the tedious deleting.

      @ThomasRasmussenXPlane  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks a lot! it is great that you enjoy my video's :-) about the missing textures - I actually noticed it a while after making the video that they were default FSX textures that could be found in the directory you mention. But at that time I had already edited my scenery and would not use additional time on editing again :-P Thanks a lot for sharing ;-)

      +Thomas Rasmussen Yes, your videos have an awesome cinematic feel to them, and they bring the normal dull X-Plane scenery more vivid. :-) In lieu of not many add-ons compared to FSX, you're helping X-Plane gain popularity. Keep up the great work!

    • @ThomasRasmussenXPlane
      @ThomasRasmussenXPlane  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Cadmus Hawke Thanks! I am using a lot of time on editing everything I do to make it look right - and as you say: I really try my best to "sell" X-plane to increase its popularity and by that gain users ... and by that more developers... and by that... :-D I hope it is working :-D

    Morning or Good afternoon Thomas, I am working on an FSX conversion of UK2000 EGGP to X-Plane 11 and I did the conversion but how do you correct floating objects after the conversion I did the Conversion settings at V9. I tried the version V10 settings but the markings and letters came out to be very large and the airport itself was massive in size.

    • @ThomasRasmussenXPlane
      @ThomasRasmussenXPlane  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      For floating objects I have this tutorial - Yes, you're on the right YT channel :-D !!: th-cam.com/video/uyjnQ7Uxcbk/w-d-xo.html
      It's can also be done with WED, but I have always used this method ;-) Man´, you're really getting into all this scenery conversion stuff!! :-D

      Thomas Rasmussen Yes sir, when you have someone that shares there experiences in this field, it motivates others to do the same, and I'm very motivated by what you do for our X-Plane communty it is very appreciated. will look at this when I get done with work today. thanks again Thomas. will let you know how it goes :)

      Thomas Rasmussen Hey m8, I have a question, I converted ORBX LOWI to xp11 and when i goto the airportand some ground polys are just floating, you cant see the ground, some parts are ok, now the most annoying part is that when i zoom in on to the end of fhe runway the textures just disappear

  • @joewrigh6717

    When I does this default scenery stays or it overlaps the new scenery how do I fix this?

    • @ThomasRasmussenXPlane
      @ThomasRasmussenXPlane  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      joe wrigh You need to add an exclusion zone for objects/facades

    There's a big box at the beach more blocking the view of runway 10. I've already removed one of them but another one showed up in game but it doesn't show up in overlay editor

    • @ThomasRasmussenXPlane
      @ThomasRasmussenXPlane  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Christian Nielsen What version of St. Maarten did you convert? And with what minimum x-plane settings in fs2xplane? I can not recall that I had any blocks on the beach - if you can send me a screenshot via my FB page I might be able to be more specific :-P

    • @Chris-dm4uv
      @Chris-dm4uv 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thomas Rasmussen It's quite strange, when on the approach into runway 10 you don't see it but once you cross the beach and touchdown and look back its there, anyways I can live with it until i figure out how to remove it. Great tutorial btw, helped a ton!

    • @ThomasRasmussenXPlane
      @ThomasRasmussenXPlane  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, that is quite strange - again, I have not seen a box on my beach :-P I am glad you benefited from my tutorial ;-) Please do not hesitate to write again if you run into trouble with other conversions ;-) Btw thx for your sub ;-)

    2 questions:
    1) how is the performance on those converted scenerys
    2) is it possibal to convart any fsx/p3d scenery into xplane10?
    Thanks for your tutorials ⭐️⭐️👍🏻👍🏻

    • @ThomasRasmussenXPlane
      @ThomasRasmussenXPlane  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +ph1p0 You are welcome ;-)
      1) The performance is generally pretty good - some sceneries like Drzewiecki designs New York and Aerosofts VFR London are pretty tough performancewise though.
      2) Most sceneries can be converted but with very variable results - some are almost perfect, some lack ground textures, some needs correction of "floating" objects and some again do not convert at all!

    • @ph1p0F
      @ph1p0F 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Thomas Rasmussen ok thanks and are the jetways working after the convertion?

    • @ThomasRasmussenXPlane
      @ThomasRasmussenXPlane  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Taxiways and runways will work most of the time ... BUT you will have to add edge- and center lights to taxiways as shown in the tutorial.

    • @ph1p0F
      @ph1p0F 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Thomas Rasmussen ok sorry. that was a missunderstanding. are the jetways (dont know the right word)(the passenger boarding bridge) working? :)

    • @ThomasRasmussenXPlane
      @ThomasRasmussenXPlane  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh, sorry :-P They are only static - If you want them animated you will have to make it work with autogate - not something I have used time on in any of my conversions!

    Three things: first of all, thank you very much for the tutorial, it's very useful. Second one, you have to write ATTR_hard. ATTR_Hard doesn't work. And the last one, how can I change the horrible runway which appears at TNCM after the conversion? Thanks indeed ;)

    • @ThomasRasmussenXPlane
      @ThomasRasmussenXPlane  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Santi for your comments - I will make an addition to the description regarding ATTR_hard. About the runway - you will have to use WED - as I will show you in the next tutorial - and make the runway transparrent! In that way the texture underneath will show ;)

      With FlyTampa Dubai you have to convert the FS9 version to get it to work ;)

    Ok so let me get this straight, in order to use the FSX sceneries or addons we must do this for each one of them, so it might cost a lot of time, I have more than 400gb compressed of addons, many photoreal sceneries. A lot of work to do. Maybe it would be better to use P3D, it might not be better than X-Plane but at least it doesn't require so many hours of work.

    • @ThomasRasmussenXPlane
      @ThomasRasmussenXPlane  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are right, it can be a lot of work!! Personally I enjoy flying in X-plane 10 more than I enjoy flying in FSX/P3D, but that is just my opinion! If you are perfectly satisfied with P3D and allready have all that scenery and do not find it fun to use time on conversion then you should stay with P3D/FSX and not use time on these tutorials. For me on the other hand - I enjoy the loads of amazing sceneries developed for FSX/P3D - but find X-plane 10 a better simulator than FSX. Somebody might agree and that is why it might be good for some to know that it might be possible to convert their favourite FSX scenery to X-plane 10 - and in that way all the hours spend on conversion would maybe pay off in the end!!
