My husband unexpectedly passed away in April and One OK Rock is our favorite band. We wanted to see them live so bad, and then after his passing the North American tour was announced. I’m going to be a mess but I’m going and hope he’ll be there with me. This song made me sob this morning when I heard it for the first time, as my album arrived from Japan. When I was driving to work, it caught my attention the sun was shining through the clouds in such a way to make a rainbow streak in the clouds. Then that song came on and the lyrics “you’re never so far gone, pieces of you shining through the clouds.” I feel like it was a sign from my husband.

when I heard the teaser for this song, it resonated with me the most. I lost a lot of family members in 2021 and beginning of 2022. some close and some distant. but the one that will hurt me most is my cousin, who was like an older sister to me. I remember when she told me she wanted to see OOR live. I told her I would take her the next time they toured. unfortunately, that will never be realized, but I hope to bring a part of her with me when I see them for this tour, and if they play her favorite song as well as this, I might just break. however, I will stay strong as OOR got me through my pain and grief. I want to celebrate her life now. what she left with me. and what I promised her. I felt that emotion when listening to this song and I hope she can listen from above.

I never thought I'd come back to this song with a different perspective. I lost my cousin who had struggled with muscular dystrophy his entire life in February. I kept him close to my heart. And I finally was able to see One Ok Rock again for the first time since 2019 this September. I felt so elated and liberated. They had been such a major part of my life since 2007, always there to lift my head up when I felt my worst. Well, 3 weeks ago, my baby brother passed away suddenly in a car accident. I'm completely shattered still and there feels like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. My brother was my life, he was everything to me. I miss him so much, I just want to be able to hug him again and see his smile. I'm in so much pain. I didn't think I'd make it through the first day, let alone this far. The only thing that keeps me going is my family. Rambling aside, I wanted to say that I came back to this song because the words are so much heavier this time around. They hurt so much more, but One Ok Rock has always been there for me, thick and thin. I will continue to hold onto their music because it is a crucial part of what keeps me alive. But today I listened to music as walked inside my house, up to my room- where I look around, searching for my cat, only to remember that my baby died last week. We all lost friends or dear ones - all gone too soon, we all miss someone somewhere between the stars, someone we'll never see/embrace again in this lifetime. This is personal as much as global...Haruma Miura was a different kind of artist, human, kind, soft spoken, hilarious dry sarcastic wit - whisper or loud, a touch of thunder and sunshine all in one human heart. Really interesting human! The body of work, different roles tackled, different genres, the quality and sensibility he left behind is amazing. He was just 30...Loved him as an actor, would have loved to meet him as a person, have a conversation and a beer - get to know the human, but for them he was a friend. Taka's voice is perfection as always, melodic line brilliant from soft to intense moments, the different inflections and above all the lyrics "scream" the heartache and the pain in one's soul.This one hits home ...hard. But today I listened to music as walked inside my house, up to my room- where I look around, searching for my cat, only to remember that my baby died last week. And in that moment I heard the words “pieces of you shining through the clouds”.

In his memory...Love how Taka & their group of friends, keep him alive through stories, memories and moments like this. There are a few songs that get me like this. I am so sorry for your loss. This is a hard one to try to put in words. We all lost friends or dear ones - all gone too soon, we all miss someone somewhere between the stars, someone we'll never see/embrace again in this lifetime. This is personal as much as global...Haruma Miura was a different kind of artist, human, kind, soft spoken, hilarious dry sarcastic wit - whisper or loud, a touch of thunder and sunshine all in one human heart. Really interesting human! The body of work, different roles tackled, different genres, the quality and sensibility he left behind is amazing. He was just 30...Loved him as an actor, would have loved to meet him as a person, have a conversation and a beer - get to know the human, but for them he was a friend. Taka's voice is perfection as always, melodic line brilliant from soft to intense moments, the different inflections and above all the lyrics "scream" the heartache and the pain in one's soul.This one hits home ...hard. But also takes you back to meet your friend/dear one for five minutes again...:( And a promise to go on. Tears and laughter, darkness and light, contrasts and colours - we're all a little bit of stardust. The lost ones...we might not see them but they're all around us.
