The mushroom Kent is eating in the video is a edible mushroom... We often eat it in our house too and so do other Nagas too. Many knows the mushroom name in their own dialect.

Schizophyllum commune is a species of fungus in the genus Schizophyllum. The mushroom resembles undulating waves of tightly packed corals or loose Chinese fan. "Gillies" or "split gills" vary from creamy yellow to pale white in colour. The cap is small, 1-4.5 cm wide with a dense yet spongey body texture. It is known as the split-gill mushroom because of the unique longitudinally divided nature of the "gills" on the underside of the cap. It is the only known fungus capable of retracting by movement. This mushroom is found throughout the world

What u call mushroom is called kanglayen in manipuri. It's a special delicacy here though the preparation is a bit different.
Paknam and eromba are the two recipes I can make with split Gill (kanglayen) mushrooms
@@rubymisao4701 yes! What you'd mentioned are the perfect preparations that go so well with it. Apart from this famous two, I also go for a curry style with it. This is good too though the former two are just unmatchable.

It's generally known as 'Gillies' or 'Split Gill' mushroom.
It belongs to Schizophyllum commune mushroom family. Widely consumed in South East Asian countries and countries like Mexico.
