How to Install Black BMW Badges | GLOSS BLACK EMBLEM INSTALL

In this video, I swapped out the chrome 340i badge on my car for a gloss black one. The black looks more sporty and I'm surprised BMW didn't offer these as an option on the F30 generation. In the video, I show how to safely remove the old badge (de-badge) and install the new one without losing the position.
A couple quick notes: 1 This would have been WAY easier if it were warm out. If you can, park in the sun on a hot day and the old badge will come off MUCH easier. 2 In the video I used dental floss which worked, but the back side of the badge kept cutting through the floss. Not a big deal and it will work in a pinch, but fishing line would have probably worked better.

I remove the 525i decals and simply painted them black, matt-black. Used Goop to stick'em back on. Been over a year and it's still lookin good.
I did my 120d the other day, I used tape in between each letter as well. That way I lined it up perfectly.

I've enjoyed everything you have uploaded Justin. Just make what you want and be who you want to be. There is too much put on creators to always think outside the box to get the most views or likes. Don't be that person. Be the creator you are already...a great one.
ATTENTION I am a sign installer/graphics installer shop owner and you must prep that surface prior to putting that new badge down. Prep it with 70% alcohol to remove the degreaser you just used on the area or you will have a premature failure on that new badge.

I want a 340i so badly. When I was looking at them, a 2017 was about $33-35k here. Now it's like $40-45k. Yours is gorgeous - just the way I wanted mine!
Wow! I haven't checked prices in a while. I paid around $30k including tax and fees in summer of 2020. I guess I got a great deal! Im sure the prices will come down soon enough
I used a hair dryer and finger nails to get mine off and didn't leave any foam adhesive behind, a minimal hand polish and all traces where gone!
Left it badgeless for a while as someone tried stealing the car, but then later added 335d badges in black for the stealth look 🙂

Used to drive a 5 series never owned a e90 but I subscribe when u had it because of ur content then keep it going!
When I swapped my 335i chrome to gloss black I had to do one at time because of the spacing. I made a cardboard template to keep the original spaces and angles the same. Oh yeah, my fingers were jacked for several days too 😂
More quality not quantity! Don’t let the this whole TH-cam pressure get to you! Keep it simple and original. Besides you can always start that ASMR channel lol. Kidding.

It's true. There's a typical pattern. An intro, then another channel intro, then a third Intro explaining the reason you actually wanted to watch the video, then an ad, then queue the stereotypical sprinkler music. I know copyright is a brutal monster, but the sprinkler music is an old dog. Then before you get to it, a like and subscribe plea, then finally the reason people clicked in the first place. It's nice to see channels break out of this tired pattern.
Do whatever makes you comfortable. Had a 330xi when you made videos about it, i remember it like it was yesterday. Once i saw you get a f30 i got one too! Haha

to be extra precise you could of marked on the top of the tape where the number "3" starts and the letter "I" ends. so its exact.

Hi Justin u forgot to do one m sport conversion the mirror caps to carbon mirror caps for the f30
QUICK TIP next time after taping around the badge find center mark of each letter/ number and use a pencil on masking tape to mark the top and bottom middle points and you will be closest to exact position

@@ibbehb.09 Yeah super easy, used dental floss to get the badges off, tar remover to remove the glue and then made sure before I started had masking tape around the badge so I stuck it in the same position.
Hardest part is just taking time to remove the glue residue. All in all 30 minute job max

I would just cut the 340 seperate from the i and apply them seperately to create the space that should be there. That way u have less room for error than if you did each digit individually

Redo it. Redo it. Redo it. If the spacing is incorrect, then you best correct it. You’ve gone through the trouble of removing a genuine BMW emblem only to replace it with a poorly spaced non genuine emblem. There’s no way you are happy and getting a good nights sleep !!
