I was able to speak to Djalu Gurruwiwi before he passed away. I was really shocked when he passed away I still speak to he’s son Larry Gurruwiwi. I’m not 🇦🇺 or Aboriginal I can play the Didgeridoo & I’m teaching myself to play The Yidaki with the help of You tube. I love having Australian Aboriginal friends. Because Iv’e always had a very deep respect for them as Human beings and even more for their traditions and their songs. When I moved back to Surrey I was taught to play The Didgeridoo for the first time when I was at Link Leisure we had an Australian Day.
A great preservation of something very special that we experienced, right before our eyes and ears and spirits… and here it patiently awaits, for new and old ears, a gift to the world :)
DESDE CHILE ENVIÓ LOS RESPETOS AL MAESTRO DJALU.... AÑOS ENTREGADOS EN CADA UNA DE SUS EJECUCIONES EN EL YIDHAKY! MUCHO AMOR Y SABIDURÍA... GRACIAS POR PUBLICAR ESTE MATERIAL... TAL VEZ NUCA VENGA A MI PAÍS!!! ESPERO IR A CONOCERLO ALGÚN DÍA...
Saludos desde la provincia del huasco especialmente a nuestro gran hermano originario Djalu Gurruwiwi les habla un gran saludo a Inti del yuca. Ojalá podre adquirir un djalu yidaki. Manny mak!!
Yes it shorly does Matty, my bros that were buralung once, played that first part very similar, will have to refer to djalu wen I meet him soon hopefully:)
I was there when he traded one of his Yidaki for yours. Pretty special. I remember you telling me that before the trip you were wondering whether you would/should continue to make your didges. Talk about affirmation!! ;)

Yep. That's one of mine. I finished it the day before I left for JT.
