- It bothers me that the demake hasn't bothered to get someone to help work on demaking the soundtrack of MMX8 using exclusively SNES era X soundfonts, so I decided to go out of my way to make this happen.
So, I decided to recreate Mega Man X8's boss theme using exclusively SNES era soundfonts (X1/X2/X3)
(Plus try out the fan project, its really impressive for what they could do with sprite animations!)

Yea I think they may do that. They need to add Vile’s theme done by Dracula9Antichapel
Ngl i think the game would not be complete without that mix.
Its just so good
they may be do that as a toggle of an options menu in final release, that would be great tbh
ha! i was wondering if they would ever get around to getting somebody to do 16 bit demakes of the ost.
you have my vote brother
I like this track-and even though it’s based on the original (flawed) design of X8, I prefer the boss music not get interrupted by the boss’ eventual hyper mode.
X5-7 need this level of love from this dev: I know X5 and 6 are already sprite based, but some of them were piss poor (looking right atcha Blaze Heatnix).
Really? I want the hyper mode music to come back.
Huh, I thought the pinch phase was unique for a boss mechanic as that was carried to MegaMan 11, but agree to disagree
@@KaiserBeats it’s all good. Most of us are skilled enough that we don’t get to hear this awesome track go through a full loop before it gets cut off by the midway track.
Another problem i have is not trying to add zero or axl especially since they couldve just used zeros sprites from X3 and tweaked them a bit to adjust to his moveset from X8
Fair, i know its not a complete 1-1 "demake" but so far, it stands out to be a good fangame so far
I'd like if it happened after the full game is done
considering many of x fangames are in development hell due to required scope (eg multiple playable characters => more unique weapons/movesets => more time and resources needed to complete developments) ill take this one in the meantime
@@KCrossXThey're not in development hell, they're in development.
I'd also really love it if they toned down the damage and speed of the bosses a bit. They hit like freaking trucks!
Bro some of the desperation attack be one shotting naked X no sub tank
@@Megaman-2407 For real! I realized Manowar chunked my health with the Icarus body on and I was like "that's not right" lol
Minor add on. The weapon acquisition screen is missing from the videos. Would love to have those.
i want to play as my layerfu
Misses the mark on multiple parts. I think authenticity is to blame here. Considering the game breaks many SNES rules already, I think it wouldn't be that bad to break some SNES music rules just to make it sound more like the original theme.
True, technically this cover also breaks the SNES limitations anyways, Since its a mix of X1/X2 & X3's soundfonts, and if i recall, the games that came after X1 had a different soundchip
Do not forget about Ravenant Remixer
Every time I see gameplay from the demake I think it's a shame they havent done exactly this. Amazing work. I was actually sampling the soundfont for X1 onto my dirtywave m8 yesterday to play around with and this track has me even more excited to get back to it.
I'm glad that got ya motivated! This was just something I did for fun
God this looks so good
This game looks dope, and the music is dope. X8 was literally this close to being a legendary title…
I prefer the original soundtrack cause remixes are usually bad. SOORRY
I don't think X8 music works well with SNES samples. Yeah, the remixes are good, but they can't reach the original greatness.
@@DHarpuia I mainly don't like this remix because they get one note wrong and it feels off (0:06)
Agree to disagree, This was just my take on it
@@KaiserBeats Those remixes are so amteur bro. Originall x8 music is better
@@KaiserBeats I think you did a great work. The thing for me is the limitations on the SNES sounds.
