- AntsCanada and I teamed up to make some terrariums! For this challenge I had to create a design in which red and white were the dominant colors. Keeping in mind that the plants need to color up yet, I think I did a good job. I'm curious to know what you think though. Let me know in the comments!
Also, be sure to head on over to AntsCanada's channel to see the challenge I made for him on his channel. • Making the Ultimate AN...

I finally got a chance to collab with @AntsCanada I'm very excited to bring this one to you and I hope that you enjoy it. I know that it's a little different from my regular work, but sometimes that's a good thing. The more I look at it, the more I like it! What do you think?
ALSO don't forget to go over to AntsCanada's channel to see the challenge I had for him: th-cam.com/video/_pZKcOS8P7c/w-d-xo.html
Where can I find the springtail video? The card isn't showing up for me.
You and Ant's Canada are literally the only two people I follow. So cool to hear you guys working together!
Ants Canada is great, I would love to see you guys do more together. Go visit him and make a vlog. He lives in the Philippines I think.

Yeesssssssssssss ants we need it
The white sand looks like snow and makes the whole terrarium look a bit ethereal!
Wow! I totally LOVED your build! I can't count how many times I said "Wow" out loud! This was a total masterpiece! To the Serpasquad, come check out Tanner's challenge for me on my channel: th-cam.com/video/_pZKcOS8P7c/w-d-xo.html
Also, if any of you AC Family are here from my video, do be sure to SUBSCRIBE to Tanner's amazing terrarium building videos! Ant love forever!
Thank you so much! Really appreciate your support and kindness. Also glad that you liked the final product! 💚
Can’t go wrong with these vids so calm and inspiring
Tanner, You never cease to amaze me. AntsCanada is right. You are the best.
Does it look entirely natural? No. But the rigid constraints of a sonnet are not natural speech, yet some of Shakespeare’s greatest writing is forced into that structure. It’s called Art. You, sir, are an artist. Happy Holidays.
Well said.
10/10 collab, two of my most watched youtubers
Very pretty Tanner!
Life in Jars? Hey LIJ!
@@FieryCoal Hello!
Why don't you make one like this ?
Big fan
The second channel I watch for terrarium vids casually just appearing on the video that’s doing a collab with two other said liked terrarium channels:
White sand really makes it pop❄️
me: *watching antsanada making terrarium and thinking how difficult it is with such small entrance*
serpadesign: hold my tweezer *pulls out a bottle with even SMALLER entrance*.
Me: 0_0
Love ants canada
i love it. the white sand gives it a false "snowy" scene. really makes the terrarium look like plants popping out from the snow. ;3
You should do a crystal themed terrarium! I’ve always dreamed of lush crystal caves like in some video games, and I think you could absolutely pull it off in a stunning way
This makes my heart so happy! Been a fan of AntsCanada for a long time (even got my brother one of his ant farms for Christmas! Shhh).
But I just discovered your channel a couple weeks ago and you’re already inspiring me to start some terrariums of my own. Thank you for the time you spend sharing your passion, it really shows that you love it!
Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to you and your wife! (The wedding terrarium was such a beautiful idea!)
Ant and terrarium love forever!
That begonia POPS out so much in there. The variegated/striped plants look like candy, the rocks even look like candy. Well done!
Who could dislike such a video
9 people
Edit: 9 monsters
@@AidebHerb lol you're right
I’m pleasantly surprised as I thought a red and white themed terraium would look gaudy, but it looks like life emerging out of the snow. Awesome design Tanner!
I'm so freaking happy you're collaborating with AntsCanada, I always hoped you guys would :D
A few more pieces of the red glass would have been nice spread over the final white layer.
Would have looked like a few festive jewels sticking up from a layer of 'snow'
I’m a member of the AC Family. I really enjoy cross over channel videos.
This was an amazing collab and hope you do more
Glad you like it! It can't be the norm though. IMO too many collabs degrade the quality of any channel.
Fair
I love what you do and think there very creative and entertaining
White sand makes everything pop even the white rocks, looks very beautiful festive / from another planet :)
I am so happy with this! Best collab for me 😍😍😍 AC fam and SerpaDesing 😍
You both inspired me with all your terrarium and pets 😍
My hubby and I love watching Mikey from AntsCanada display his creativity to the world. His video introduced us to your channel. Huge coincidence, but my hubby went out and bought me a 36"x36" used terrarium as I used to love growing tropicals. He thought this was be a unique new way for me to get my green thumb back. I have been watching your videos and am so incredibly excited and inspired! Merry Christmas!!!
Great work Tanner. Looks good. Happy Christmas to you and best wishes for a prosperous 2021.
Careful dude, you don't wanna expose yourself as a time traveler
Thank you! You as well!
2021?
Excellent job, as usual! I love it! Reminds me of a light snow.
I find this so restful and satisfying..it is gorgeous
The crossover we've all been waiting for!
My family is from China but I was born and raised in the Philippines so I really appreciate this charity. Tysm!
Thanks to you I now am addicted to making terrariums. Everywhere I go I'm looking for glass containers to make one.
Two of my favorite channels. How lovely to come across this video after getting into terrariums recently
This is an awesome collab. Best Christmas gift youtube could bring me this year
I want an update on your isopods please
Yes I would love that
What a great collab! I am already subscribed to AntsCanada and was so excited to see you guys working together.
I always enjoy these kinds of collaborations. I think I stumbled across his channel some time ago before I found yours. Both of you have been fun and interesting to watch. I like how snowy this build turned out and would like to see it again when all the plants redden later on.
I just realised it looks like the day after it snows and all the plants have had the snow melted off
Never knew these mini ecosystems existed now I’m hooked watching these after work at 3 in the AM
It looks absolutely magical. I would love to be able to shrink to spring tail size and explore all of your miniature worlds. Thank you for your channel! I was searching for some terrarium how tos and discovered your work. I cannot stop watching! My daughter is entranced as well. We have so many new ideas for the native terrarium we are going to attempt to build. Keep being brilliant, your creations are living art. 💘
I love AntsCanada! So fun to see this collab!
I just want to say thank you for what you do. I showed my youngest daughter some of your videos and we made one in a old mason jar I had laying around we had a blast doing it and I got to go out and help her find the things we put in it. I will send pictures of it on a later date and again thanks for inspiring her and me.
Wholesome
"Infinity War was the greatest crossover in history"
Sees THIS
💚
Also, like if you thought there was going to be an ant colony put in here 😂
Two of my most beloved channels colabourating... That is a true christmas gift!
It's great when you watch several nature inspired shows. To see them Collaborate. Loving the Cross overs.
I love the build. Looks amazing!! Great job Tanner. So glad you got to collaborate with Ants Canada!!!
I think it looks amazing. Something I'm used to enjoying in all your set-ups. The thought that goes into the materials, down to the practicality of kick-starting the mini ecosystem with isotopes. There's just one small flaw. The shortness of the terrarium, doesn't give the illusion of space. If the bottle was even just a quarter taller, it would give that illusion of height. That's the only thing I can find wrong with it. Otherwise, I really love the plant design, and hardscape. Another winner.
awesome sand looks like snow!
nice collab 2 of my absolute favorite viv channels!
great build Tanner!
I've stumbled onto this channel a few months ago now I've always found terrariums interesting and I didnt even know what a vivarium was but now I do and have 3 healthy terrariums
Nobody does it like you do, Tanner. Beautiful build, as always. I love that you inspire so many people to bring nature indoors. Happy Holidays, and thanks for everything you've done for the hobby!
genius. I love the fact your plants are spelled out on your videos. Wow, this is beautiful and magical.
Blown away by this one (I guess that's true for all of them!)I think it all came together well and knowing how some of those plants attain deeper red colours I think a lot of us can envision how it will look when they do change.
Awesome job Tanner
Great Video. The snow helped the plants pop out and look like snow on the ground. It would be cool if there was something that made it continuously snow white sand in the terrarium and reuse it. Your videos are awesome. I am watching and liking all your videos. They are so great!!!!!!
The idea of building a different world looking terrarium is a pretty cool idea, I’m not sure how well it would turn out or look but it’s interesting to think about
I love that you guys did a collar! I love the terrarium!!!
It looks very festive and the white sand looks like snow!
Very nice. It looks like winter is ending and spring is starting. Really cool that both u guys got together on this build
It's otherworldly with the lush, tropical looking plants against what appears to be snow and ice.
Wow the white sand looks like snow, it is a very festive terrarium, l like it!
This is awesome. I haven't finished watching the video yet but I just wanted to say it's great to see this crossover between these two great channels. I discovered each individually due to my interest in these things- so to come across this particular video and see you guys working together in a sense was really exciting and surprising. Anyways, awesome work, and have a wonderful new year.
Absolutely loving the stark white sand top layer but I almost wish you had sprinkled some more of the red pebbles in front.
While I find you incredibly inspirational in my ongoing process of building my own vivariums, terrariums, etc.. you’ve inspired me in a whole new way today. AntsCanada as well for the challenge. The end aesthetic that you said could look like it’s from another world, gave me an idea for a writing project I’ve been working on just for fun. Very cool end result. 😁
I am here from @AntsCanada and am totally enjoying your channel!! I am very glad you and Mikey did this competition :) And I love the donations to charity!! :)
Beautiful build Tanner ;)
Tanner you are from Pittsburgh?? You're so close. It's crazy to think that someone who has inspired me so much this last year, lives so close by. Through finding your channel, I found a love for terrarium building. I build terrariums now in my spare time on my off days. I'm an EMT on an ambulance and terrarium building has given me a great distressing hobby that gives me ALOT of enjoyment. I'm honestly so thankful for you and your channel!
Another great build. I hope you and your wife have an amazing holiday season and I hope you both have an amazing and a continueingly inspiring New year !!!!
Even though this isn't a "natural" setting it looks strikingly beautiful. On a side note you inadvertently helped me identify a plant in my collection, I was fairly sure it was a bromeliad but it was growing in a pot in soil, so weird! When you mentioned the Cryptanthus I could clearly see that this was the same kind of plant that I have. Thank you for giving me a name to put to my plant haha!
Glad you know now!
Two of my three favorite TH-camrs working together or against each other rather not sure
Who is a fan of antscanada, SerpaDesigns, and Exotics lair?
Im a big fan of AntsCanada and Exotic Lair!
This is the first time I get to know about SerpaDesigns, which is a good way to do it!
I'm primarily an AC fan whose TH-cam pointed to SerpaDesigns here :D
I didn't know about Exotics lair until the collab he did with Mike but I didn't find it to my tastes :(
Should check out Crime Pays But Botany Doesn't.
dont forget dark den!
i just found this guy but knew about the others for a long time! all the way to JON3200
Still so happy this happened ❤️ Canadian colours ❤️
I dunno who would hit dislike on a video from a channel like this. Tanner does the VERY BEST job at showing his amazing skill. If you watched the video to the end then you also saw how he is tryn to help children and charity! What kind of people dislike helping children? Wow man. Sorry for the rant bit it's just ridiculous, the haters make me sick.
I really like how you removed the paper. I have an obsession with everything in terrariums being natural materials. I don't like chemicals and man-made objects, idk what the red sand is but it is cool regardless.
Beautiful! I love all the white with the plants
Ey! I’ve now seen both of these!!! *both your videos are GREAT!*
I think I was subscribed to AC first, you both give me a lot of inspiration, even tho I'm afraid of most bugs you guys made me see how interesting & important creepy crawlies are lol
I’ve been a fan and sub of AC for a couple years now, and only a sub of you for a year, but that is so cool that he challenged you to a Christmas themed terrarium. Really cool!
omg he liked my comment... lowkey made my day... no one else liked it or probably saw it. but he saw if. if u see this tanner ur awesome. that wasn’t a clout chasing comment btw it was sincere
A ring left inside to keep the substrate hidden might have worked better so the layers were just red and white. Still looks great though and a fun project.
You are one of my favorite channels. I love watching you create. Each one is like its own little world. Amazing! Merry Christmas to you and your family. I can't wait to see what you bring us in the new year. 👍🎄🎅🌾
Red and White are also Canada's national colors! Big fan of AntsCanada too! Had to watch this!
That is so festive, great job on a challenging build!
Crossover with another one of my favorite TH-camrs!!! This is so amazing
Now we need a collab with Foo the Flowerhorn and the trifecta will be complete!
I think it would be fun to do these for each holidays or for different color combos ^-^
omg, I've been watching both you guys separately for over a year now, this is great! So weird not to see you use a bit of moss though, lmao!
Incredible man. You are best designer in this hobby. You Made my day. And thanks by inspiration.
I think i would be really awesome if you could make an Island Paludarium for a Giant Potamon Crab!
So cool to see two channels you love do a project together. I’m pretty sure his channel was recommended to me because I watch your’s. I recommend your channel to a new friend and in turn he recommended Dark Den. So I’ll pay it forward but mentioning him in this comment.
Can't wait to see everything full red! Absolutely love the fact that you're doing charity w this too
The springtails assist in the challenge theme also.
once again you manage to make such a beautiful terrarium! amazing
I've been watching your videos for years now and I love every video you put up and i just now realized I havnt been subscribed... I am now, and gonna support you all the way keep up the amazing work!
There is no end to your vivarium skill. Another job well done.
It would have been interesting to see a few of the red glass pebbles added on top of the white sand in groupings of 3-5. Just a few of them Or even tilting the terrarium as you added the ged pebbles and alternated with white sand to make candy cane stripes.
Love this collab the two of you got me into the hobby
That white sand looks like snow😍
This was really cool to watch you guys! Also I love how the top layer of sand makes it look like snow :)
I wrote this very thing when you asked what to do with the bottle. Give ya boy some credit. I said to do a collab with ants Canada and use the bottle as an ant farm. Geez
love both your canals nice to see you coop
Hope you do a follow up next Christmas when the plants have all turned to their maximum red!
I too stumbled across one of your videos and have been a huge fan since.
8 people are not in the holiday spirit. Nice build my man!
OMG! I saw the first part of the title and automatically assumed it was an AntsCanada video, since I'm subscribed to both! Great collab!
You guys should collab with Life in Jars!
antscanada really out here putting pine apple plants in his terrarium builds
i think an ant colony would be a great addition to this terrarium along with the spring-tails
The Dutch part in me loves red plants :) It looks great! :)
