To be fair, they chose to get married to those people. I don’t think Jesse really had a choice to kill Gale or not, he would’ve been found and killed if he didn’t. Plus he didn’t have a choice to cook either, Walter would’ve turned him in way back in season 1. Plus his gf overdosed and he was treated awfully by his parents, especially taking the heat for his brother’s weed. Glad he got to Alaska though.
@return4887 if you think he's just listening to a cool song, you obviously don't understand what this scene was meant to convey. He's finally alone and has to face the very thoughts he's been running from, even his friends had had enough partying and just wanted to go home and be normal for one night, and finally he has no way to drown out the silence, and has to sit and process the overwhelming sense of guilt he feels after Jane's overdose. It's one of the worst feelings in the world, but it is part of the healing process. But even then, I don't think he ever truly forgives himself for her death until Walt finally confesses that he could have saved her, and chose not to. Literally watched her take her last breath, and did nothing.
Ive literally never related to a scene more. This perfectly encapsulates the experience of being depressed and just not caring anymore and just trying to drown out the world.
Amazing scene. Great comment Conniferiys, I'd change the placement of "care" "the experience of being depressed and just trying to drown out the world, and to just not care anymore." Because we do care, and the breakdown is the result of that dam breaking, and its overwhelming as it all floods out. He is finally alone, with his pain, and his guilt. There are things we may cease to care about, our state, the state of living. Alas, semantics. Great comment
@@happymealchiz You can make it bro. I only rarely say anything nice to humans but I know exactly how you feel so we can sorta relate on that at least lol Never stop til you reach victory. Well tbf this is different than just “depression” Jesse is literally going through horrific PTSD from having to murder an innocent harmless man to save his own life
My mom passed on July 9 2011. I was 20, and lived with her at the time and was now all alone. Her funeral was on the 15th, and after a week of being around friends and family, I went to the movies later that night with a girl I had seen on and off. We went back to my place and fell asleep watching TV and she woke up and she had to go. I walked her outside and for the first time since we found out my mom was on her death bed that July 1st I was alone, stuck with my thoughts. I remember walking into the house, I closed the door behind me.and pushed my back up against the wall doing exactly what Jesse did and slid down. And stayed there for about 6 hours, until the sun came up. This episode premiered the following week and I had never seen bb before, watched the replay of E1 and then this, and got chills seeing this.
I got a similar story but my mom died a few months ago then a month later went to the movies and her being the first person to make me happy since her leaving really did a number on me. I hope ya doing better tho and r.i.p to your mom
The thing that Jesse didn’t want to happen, happened. The party’s over, his friends left, and he’s left all alone with his thoughts. He doesn’t want to be alone because then his thoughts turn toward Gale and what he did. I feel so bad for him. Jesse wasn’t made for the hard core drug life. He’s too emotional and tender hearted.
Don't know about anyone else, but I think that this scene and the one of Jesse go-karting are the best depictions of depression and loneliness in cinema. Especially the fact that he didn't say a word in both scenes.
I mean fate took away the girl he loved most, made him lose one of his best friends, compelled him to kill an innocent man, All of sudden, real quick, a traumatic U turn from normal life. What else you need to feel this scene? kudos to Vince Gilligan and Aaron Paul for depicting a real state of human mind.
Anyone else noticed a couple sounds of Victor’s dying breath hidden behind the song right after Jesse turned the volume up? It was so subtle on my headphone’s left channel but the impact on this scene is insane it gave me secondhand trauma
Jesse kicks in my maternal instincts and I know that sounds so weird but oh my god I just wish I could give him a hug, nurture him and support him through his struggles because I’ve been there before too and it’s a level below he’ll

This scene yaar this series told what actually life is ww has that much money as well jesse has but throughout the series they never been happy, they only ve momentary pleasures, everyone watch this series at least once
This was one of my favorite episodes of that whole season. It just went to show how disconnected Walter was from Jesse by asking him to do despicable things but also somewhat necessary moves to survive. Yet Walt never asked for he was feeling or doing.
Jesse deserved more, he got out but so what he lost everything, exept Brock. He suffered the most in my opinion. And unpopular opinoin Aaron Paul is the best actor in breaking bad.
I was a huge fan of Breaking Bad, this is probably the best scene (well that and the acid destroying the bath tub scene), Jesse finally sunk in and realized what he got himself into. El Camino movie kind of carries that "I fucked up" emotion from this particular scene although the movie reveals a lot more of Jesse's fucked up life as well.
